“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams...
A really great quote! Thank you for sharing. I miss my Mom and Dad. Both sets of Grandparents too. I was so touched by this episode. Our lives are very much moment to moment and then we get to go home and be together again.
At last the children got to say good bye to their grandfather. That brought tears to my eyes. If we can only say we love our grandparents one more time before they fly away into heaven.....or good bye would be so sweet.
The last thing I said to my Dad was "I love you so much, Dad." He said "I love you so much, too honey." It was on his 80th birthday and I was 6000 miles away from him. He passed a few days later.
@@cruisepaigeah so sad. My father too passed away from cancer when he was 82. I was able to say goodbye to him to before he passed. I know he his in a better place, pain free and happy.😊
What the Hell is wrong with being a brakesman? You've gotta have brakes! How's that shameful? That's the saddest part of the whole thing....here they've got this lovely old dreamer of a grandpa with the heart of a poet and just have to destroy his dream. Being poor is made much worse if you stop dreaming and seeing all the lovely natural things all around.
With you on that. Sad to see the little girl will grow has mean and hateful, just like her mother. The old man gave them shelter and comfort and this how these two cows repaid him.. trying to stomp the life out of him.
My dad was an engineer for C&O/CSX, he used to blow the whistle coming through Cliftondale Park where we lived, so Mom would know to come pick him up at the Yard Office. We used to hear bobwhites and whippoorwills every evening. Our little town had one of the biggest locomotive roundtables in the world when it was a bustling RR town. My favorite picture is one of him and me in the engine on C&O Family Day.
