😢So refreshing to see authentic Thai village life and not the usual conga line of YT content. Keep going. We live in Chanthaburi on an organic farm now, we sailed around on a yacht for 6 years before coming ashore. Living in Thailand is amazing. It is nothing like you are led to believe in the travel brochures
Great video Ryan. For someone who is planning to retire in rural Thailand, I can see that this channel is going to give me a lot of valuable info. Thanks for sharing your experience and insight.
Great to see the bigger picture of how your place (land, family and home) fits in with others in the locality and for me, a perfect viewing format for chat type vlogs especially when you interject the chat to point out a few things and interact with your neighbours as you're passing by.
I too am a fan of true crime. Probably 75% of the channels we subscribe to are 'True Crime'. Thank you for sharing the other side of Thailand. I believe, as you were scrolling through the article, @3:49 it said they have arrested the suspect. It would be interesting to follow up and let us know how the Justice System works in Thailand as well. For example the legal process, arrests, bail, court, sentencing, ect. Thank you Ryan! Looking forward to see this channel! Greetings from North Carolina!
So good to see you back in your "element" Ryan. You look happy and content. This is some of what I've been missing. You should be known as the "local mayor".....Love how friendly you are with all the people. They must enjoy seeing you filming their shops and homes. The mic overpowered the loud noises really well. Just to let you know. Stay well and keep the vlogs coming.... Big Love, 🤗
Great idea for channel mate and nice casual video. Thinking no need for 4k, we are not here for cinematography but kicking back and listening to your "stuff" and if it's an easier upload then that's what's preferable. I think the true crime, rants, raves and information will be great . Looking forward to crime and news tonight!!!
Relatively new to the channel (a couple weeks in perhaps). I really enjoyed this. The free flow of thoughts and insight paired with a stroll through the village and random conversations with neighbors and your Mrs. Not many could pull this off, I believe. Requires an authentic conversation with the camera. Not easy for some, which becomes obvious listening to the many various podcasters over the years. Not a judgment. Just the way it seems. Not sure if you are still doing this type of video, but this one was good. I’m subscribed and enjoying all of the (“minimally-edited”) content. Thanks, man. Keep going!
@@thenakedguru Hey, btw … I’ve seen about a half dozen of your vids. After this walkabout video I commented on, I stumbled onto the video titled “I’m leaving my wife.” Dude, my heart sank. I, of course, soon realized you were just taking a solo trip. TH-cam algorithm favors those types of catchy titles, I’m guessing. Was actually kinda surprised I had that much emotion. Ha! Also surprised some in the community would judge the trip. That’s silly. The response you shared was not reasonable. Do your thing man. Keep it up

Hi Ryan, From ‘The Naked Guru’ to ‘Life in Bamboo’…. Welcome back ‘The Naked Guru’.!! I always enjoy your musings (& rants!) so now you and Damo are covering all bases with both the channels. Much looking forward to the up coming content, all power to you both and my very best wishes to you and your family. 🙏🏻🙏🏻. Anthony.

I love your channel and more importantly your approach to living in Thailand (patience) I lacked a lot of skills in my 9-years, but I did love it and my daughter is now at University in BK. Wish you everything and family everything XXxx
Great video Ryan! I think it's almost therapeutic to have a channel like this, to just "let go" and conversate with others. I may have moved back to the states, but I still follow Thai news and wondered what your thoughts are on that horrible story. So I am thrilled you will be covering it! I am excited to see more! Nice Vlog Ryan, you're brave, I don't walk anywhere in my village without a big pointy stick the dogs are a menace. So far I've managed to avoid any major illness here although I have had a couple of accidents while working and building, minor stuff, sprains, and stitches but surprisingly I didn't need to pay for any treatment in the local clinic. I imagine if I had to go to a city hospital I would still be paying the medical bills. I notice most people are starting to drink already, It would be interesting to me if you could do something about the massive health problems that white whiskey causes, I've been to two funerals this month both deaths being attributed to lao khaw but nobody talks about it. Looking forward to some tales from the dark side.

You can buy a bike and drive around and just drive and look then all will be good. Been driving for many years here and never had anything happen. You can have a heart attack tomorrow who knows so don't be scared of junp on a bike in thailand and enjoy life just don't jump on the bike after a bottle of vodka.
yes skip the vodka and i also have never had an accident but the majority of friends have unfortunatley and one wasnt covered so got expensive, due to no lisence :)
i have a full UK car and motorcycle license and every year I spend 15 minutes and £5.50 in the post office getting an international drivers permit without this ( and a crash helmet ) it does not matter how much you spend on insurance you will not be covered riding a motorcycle, its a small thing to do but people don't realise the importance.
Funny when you say having a rant , I don’t see it as that it’s just you being you , I know others on our planet see things differently, spent my life being me which hasn’t suited others but I’m here for me not others , so never stop being who you want to be rather than what others want you to be ,
I honestly wouldn't mind hearing more "rants" about Thai insurance. I'm here on an ED Visa for about 1 year but AXA will only provide me with traveler insurance for 6 months. The school said I can find local insurance but that was the extent of their advice. Having an existing condition also makes it nearly impossible to find someone to cover you. If you do, it's literally a fortune. It seems your best option is to work for a local/international company that will cover your Thai medical expenses.
I was amused with a neighbor who owned a champion fighting cock. Our home has a wall surrounding it and one day the gate was open. The neighbor came running in and said that his rooster gotten away and came into our yard. He said that his rooster would kill my wife's barnyard rooster. We found his rooster and my wife's rooster had it down and and it was beaten and bleeding. All the rooster fighters wanted to buy her rooster. She sold him for 500 baht. The neighbor carried his wounded rooster home in his arms.
If you are looking for more content on the dark side of life here, perhaps a story on MDMA, the free flow of pills across borders and the damage it is causing among young villagers.
Buy 10 female buffaloes or cows and plant 5 rai of grass. That's the insurance money to send your child to school, medical treatment for the rest of your life.

yes skip the vodka and i also have never had an accident but the majority of friends have unfortunatley and one wasnt covered so got expensive, due to no lisence :)
Why all the whiskey drinking in the villages, how did it originate ?
Thanks for the village tour. Looks a great place for a bicycle. As for true crime, no idea what that is. Cheers from Bali.
Cheers Steve 🙏
i have a full UK car and motorcycle license and every year I spend 15 minutes and £5.50 in the post office getting an international drivers permit without this ( and a crash helmet ) it does not matter how much you spend on insurance you will not be covered riding a motorcycle, its a small thing to do but people don't realise the importance.

1080p should be ok, I rarelly watch any videos on full screen anyway..
What are Thai prisons like ?

If you are looking for more content on the dark side of life here, perhaps a story on MDMA, the free flow of pills across borders and the damage it is causing among young villagers.
I don't want any of that it's horrible 🤣🤣
