I know when planted 760 rubber trees in April 40+ degrees , I could only stand in the shadow with cold water. The guy dug the holes in the full sun. Amazing tough people. 🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🙏♥️♥️
I live in esan i see this every day I call it slavery they get paid between 300 and 500 baths for a full day for Burmese workers around 200 baths a day it’s called cheap labor why would the government invest invest in up to date machinery sad but so true
The reason I watch your vlogs Ryan is because it's like I'm watching myself. We are so much alike in mind and spirit. I have always travelled off the beaten track because that is where I have found the real people, real life and culture. I like you, am not interested in city life and concrete jungles. I've been travelling to Thailand for the last 15 years. Next April is finally the one-way ticket. Then the real journey begins laden with backpack, tarp & hammock. Stay safe brother 😎🙏
We have watched in awe over the past few years these incredible men and women building many many kilometres of new world class roads around Chumphon. Just amazing 😍 yes we should all be very grateful for what we have. One shot latte's for me as well😊
Roadworks were very common when I was in Thailand last year.. It was everywhere, from Buriram to Bangkok to Phuket... almost as bad as in UK... But it is good as well, means they are improving their roads.
Growing up my grandpa was a coast to coast truck driver (in the states) and I’d always go with him which was amazing. Maybe that’s why I love traveling still today. America is great to travel in just because of all the different landscapes there and all the different cultures. Have a great day.
tough work out there. and what you were saying is exactly why im watching, knowing one day i will be able to free myself and have more agency over my life and time in this beautiful world. cheers ryan
Ryan, people will still watch you, even when they move to Thailand. I have lived here for over 10 years and I watch every vlog you put up and love them all. Keep driving safely. God bless 😀❤🙏
Been a long time subscriber, started watching years ago in Canada before I came to Thailand. Been here almost 2 years, haven't missed one and going back to Canada soon and my bonus will be to watch over there again and feel like i'm still there. Keep on keeping on ❤
As a boomer who has been hoping to see the world move away from personal ICE transport, I am hoping that center median in the road construction is for the high speed electric trains. Thailand has been planning and building with the help of the Chinese from what I have read. Yes people, interactions, and real life stories in the now are much more interesting than planned out travel vlogs and such. Keep on Truckin Ryan. Peace and Love
Fascinating. Thanks for sharing. It would be interesting to know what their wages are. I’ve seen this fantastic improvement in the Thai infrastructure over the last 20 years, Including the new high speed overhead rail link from Bangkok to Hua Hin, Complete new sky train systems, roads, cycle lanes etc I’d love to know where all the investment comes from It puts our miserable set up to shame here in the UK.
Yes! You are spot on from what your documentary on Thai roadworkers can teach me is GRATITUDE that I have never had to work in circumstances like that especially under a hot sun where the temperature hovers around 40C;and working life for the majority is I imagine not too dis similar to that in most areas of the Hot Third World.
This would be the reason that the song Rich Men North of Richmond, by American, Oliver Anthony, quiickly became somewhat of an Anthem for all types of people all over the world, almost over night. Especially people that do the hard work that mostly goes underappreciated. I wonder if you'd become aware of this song and its impact, and if this video was possibly inspired by it? I dig your channel and appreciate you sharing your life experiences in Thailand with us. 😊🙏
My father was instrumental in getting me a job at Corn Products (CPC, Int'l ) in Summit, Illinois. He was in charge of 6 buildings and told the foremen that just because I was his son they were not to go easy on me. Among the various jobs I had, one was me standing at the end of a conveyor belt upon which 100lb bags of corn starch plopped and I would arrange them 25 per pallet for the forklift to take away (kind of like "I Love Lucy" but it wasn't candy, it was 100 lb bags of corn starch.) I would do this for 8 hours (except for 15-minute morning and afternoon breaks and a 30-minute lunch) tossing about 800,000 lbs, per shift, sometimes double that in back to back overtime shifts. This was in the middle of summer, indoors, and no air-conditioning, it was very hot. To this day I thank that job for the veiny muscular arms that I have now. I had four or five other jobs at Corn Products (aka CPC, Int'l) which, believe it or not, were even more grueling than the bag throwing job but the point is that you don't have to go to Thailand to have a tough hard-working, fairly low-paying job even here in the United States.
After living a very minimalistic live for 15 year here in Bangkok i finally bought a car so i am still looking your vlogs for places to go next year i will move to Surin with my wife to start a small fish farm and Hydroponics farm i love it how you can do everything easy and relax here.
Good on you for seeing the hard work that carpenters do, Doctors wouldn’t have hospital if not for carpenter, Politicians wouldn’t have Parliament House without carpenters, people would be sleeping in a field if not for carpenter…. I admire your point of veiw Ryan You are a good man !
nice. I always say the exact same things about cities of bigger Amphurs. They don't really have anything unique about the city itself. Same sort of general layout, same roads, same buildings, same shops etc etc. Keep it up
Another good watch Ryan. Only you can film some construction workers and make an inspirational video about it 😂 also how was the coffee? Bet it was too sweet 😉
Amazing workers there ... lovely gracious people. Very much enjoying your videos as it's more like the Thailand I love (not the clubbing/looking for loose women type).
Hard working people in Thailand especially on the roads in blazing sun ☀️ it does somewhat remember me picking whelks for 5/6 hours a day in hot sun as child looking back it was slave labour but when you don’t know any better it seems normal thanks Ryan for sharing
OHHHHHHHHH MY, I can remember when I was young I would work out in the sun all day and think nothing of it. I retired 30 years ago and I don't have to work in the sun if I don't want to. I have to wonder if these people get paid extra for working in the sun versus a job inside where it's cool? That would be interesting to know.
Judging from your videos it seems that your left leg is quite a lot shorter than the right. I will recommend that you buy some cheap cork heal inlay soles. Use under shortest leg only! Regards
You speak Thai. Ask them how much they earn, ask them if they get state benefits, ask them what kind of contracts they have. It's not about gratitude. It's about working out whether they are being exploited or not. Your experience in Thailand obviously leads you to believe that they are being exploited. If that is the case, which it may not be, it's not about gratitude, it's about getting unionized.
With the way the cost of living crisis is headed, it’ll only be the rich that can afford the fuel to drive on these roads. Might have to buy a bicycle maybe what do you think? 9:36 😊
😛🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🌡🌡🌡🌡🌡🌡🛑🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🏥🚐🚗🚘🚙🛻🚚🚛 All I hate about every town in Thailand it's about the electricity wire and internet cable.everywhere make me upset all the time bcuz it's seem not safe when you walk on the side walk.4 sure.

I travelled over 4K kilometres by motorcycle around some of Thailand last summer. Probably the best trip of my life so far.
Thank you so much for your kindest words.🙏🇹🇭🥰

A forgotten people 🙏🙏
Nice interesting journey. Good to see the local surrounds. Including the poor buggers constructing the roads!!

Amazing tourist selfies here, now we all really know what you look like, thanks a lot!
More to come!

Hey Wayne good to see you in the comments again. 👍🙏😎
That's one of the main thing is noticed in Thailand , the worker's on the roads , crazy hard work
My daughter got a good little fan last week in MR DIY. USB powered so would work on your solar

For minimum wage age, no skill, 350THB or around 10EURO. For food price, 1.20EURO per meal.
I've moved to Thailand, and I still watch you, and enjoy your vlogs immensely

In Las Vegas when its over 100 degrees the road construction is done at night with many super bright lights. They need lights 365 a year 😊

I always make it a point to spend at least a week in the NE on my annual trip. it tends to be the best experiences of the month.

How the pyramids were built. ( cant say the obvious two words used in the modern era ) 😔
Great video. Enlightening

Who are they and what don't they want me to see?
What you don't mention is many if not all these people working on the roads are Burmese working for considerably less than the Thai minimum rate.
I mention both of those things
Live in the NE ISSAN all THAIS working on the roads.
With the way the cost of living crisis is headed, it’ll only be the rich that can afford the fuel to drive on these roads. Might have to buy a bicycle maybe what do you think? 9:36 😊
Pay cash! You know the reason!!!!!
You can speak Thai better and better,
I understand your Thai conversation.
is your Dad Kevin?
