Apparently ‘The Call’ IS in fact the 2022 season cinematic! Was there one for 2021 that we have missed?

A pretty good one off cinematic is: Call of Power.
It focuses on Ryze who is trying to prevent the thing Heimerdinger was so scared of in Arcane. It is as close to directly connected to Arcane as you can get I think.
Lore-wise Ryze is on a self-imposed mission and exile to find and lock away anything in Runeterra which is too dangerous to be left alone. Potential link to Arcane can work but is newer, so it can be easily worked in. Ryze got a newer cinematic highlighting both his mission to secure relics/creatures too dangerous to be left alone, and constantly fighting against the corruption such relics possess. The most dangerous relic Ryze found is the scroll on his back, lore-wise it is said to contain secrets capable of ending reality and he personally safeguards it because of the potential of someone finding his sanctum where he keeps the relics he finds.
@@gabelous5049 I'm actually 90% sure the mage from the first episode of Arcane (the one who saves Jayce by teleporting him away to safety) is Ryze. We never actually see his face, but his magic is almost identical to Ryze's ultimate ability.

@@Evravon It is possible, but timelines may boggle it up. We're led to believe now Ryze has a hidden sanctum where he stores the relics he finds in a neutralized state (the struggle being getting them there without being overtaken by corruption from the relics). Given that and his blue skin, it's more probable he has used forbidden knowledge to greatly extend his lifespan in his quest to keep the world safe. Also while we're not sure when the event Heimerdinger speaks of in Arcane happened, but given his age (300 and change in years) and the fact Jayce and Meg has no idea what he is talking about it stands to reason that happened more than a century prior. Which could put Ryze has being far older. Then again it's possible his lifespan extension at that point still left him looking him. But it IS a very easy and thorough way to tie him in. The IRL issue is Fortiche had to do most of their own research when making Arcane (which is why it took so long), so unless they saw that and intended this character to be Ryze from the get-go it would be unlikely.

The blue guy is Ryze. Some are speculating that he's the one that helped Jayce in with magic.

@@CarlieAndAnge That is wrong though, the guy we see in episode 2 had targonian tatoos, furthermore ryze would never ever give random child runes. Last time he did, child turned into a world destroying lava man lol.
The guy in Arcane wasn't blue, used a staff instead of scrolls and book, had the wrong tattoos, and was a completely different physical build. Just cos it was kinda like Realm Warp doesn't make the random guy Ryze.
fun fact: the girl Garen was fighting is Katarina from Noxus. They have a kind of rivalry yet romantic relationship. Like they love each other but they have to fight for their nation
thats sadly not really canon anymore. During the lore rework all Kata/Garen mentions in eachothers stories were completely purged.

Good to know: That golden armoured woman is named 'Leona' and u saw her already in Tales of Runterra: TARGON. She will reappear in a popular league cinematic so remembering her would be a great idea (and maybe reading her lore to understand what she actually does/is )
Targon was one of the biggest reworks of the Great Retconn. Originally Leona was a member of various tribes of people who live in the upper slopes of Targon called rakkor. As a traditional test all rakkor had to fight one another in a duel to the death, essentialily to "cull the weak" (living up on Targon was very harsh and brutal, everyone had to pull their weight just to survive). Leona was pitted against her best friend when her rite came, and after besting him she threw down her weapon and refused to kill him. She was slated to be executed, when the time came both of her executioners were destroyed by a ray of sunlight (pretty much mid-swing). The Solari priests, who lived higher up on Targon, came down to take Leona. It was seen as a divine intervention and Leona was seen as Chosen by the sun, and she was given the grab and arms of Solari guardians of old and she was be the guardian of the Solari and the rakkor. At the time Targon wasn't much more than this and a couple of other champions, Targon is basically like Everest on steroids and getting to the summit is an almost always fatal venture.
The Great Retconn happened and Mount Targon was turned into it's own "people". Targon is split between two types of beings. There are Celestials, who are actual gods who travelled to Runeterra for various reasons and chose to live there. The other are Aspects, who are mortals who managed to ascend Mount Targon and received divine power via destiny. Leona's lore was vastly changed, but was worked into Diana's as the duality of the Sun and Moon. She was training to be a Solari priest, completely throwing out the rakkor trials and duels and her best friend and execution, etc. Her and Diana were friends now, both traininb to be Solari. After discovering a long forgotten cave Diana discovers another sect of rakkor who worshipped the moon. Eventually Diana flees up Targon, with Leona following to help her. Both end up becoming Aspects and... Well you can read it on the site. But that explains why Leona has all the sun motifs and gold armor, she is literally an Aspect of the Sun.
@@gabelous5049 FWIW Leona and Diana were more than friends during their time in training, they develop feelings for each other and end up kissing during/after a festival. The designer of both characters (Ironstylus) has come out and said since he had always seen the two as star-crossed lovers but Riot held it off for a long time.
Yes, Ahri can "Charm" enemies In game and once they are hit, they will walk towards her whether they like it or not.
Its really cool that they put that small detail in the cinematic.
Not an in-game ability but: idk if anyone has mentioned it before but vi has her own theme song and one of the lines goes "have you ever really wanted to be a total rebel, flipping tables on the enemy" and in episode 9 of arcane, when she's fighting sevika in her hextech gauntlets, she yeets a table at her and i think it was a nice lil touch 😄 thought id tell you cos its fun haha, you should listen to her song some time, its really awesome! It came out in 2012 which makes it even better

Interesting thing about Fiddlesticks - in the lore, his old design is how he is depicted in stories in Demacia while his new reworked form is how he actually is. In the game, new Fiddlesticks even has a voiceline mocking about how he is only a fairy tale to scare children.
"Call of power: Ryze cinematic" is about the blue guy with the book, it's a very similar style to these cinematics and I strongly recommend it. It also has a mild connection to arcane, specifically the runes that Jayce/Viktor use. It's also speculated that the mage who saved Jayce from the blizzard was Ryze, who also has a very similar teleportation ability in game.
And it's Canon cinematic 👍🏽
Ryze wasnt the dude in Arcane, aside from the similarities to Realm Warp nothing else about him has anything to do with Ryze. Wrong build, wrong equipment, not blue, missing the tattoos.

@@DNeonLamp From what I've heard Ryze wasn't always blue or had the tats. This could be a much earlier version of him. Which would make sense given how long ago that scene is compared to episode 1 events.
Riot is fully aware that the aesthetic of mystery mage's magic strongly resembles Ryze's ultimate and that those comparisons will be made.
Weather or not mystery mage is revealed as Ryze will depend on the writers going forward. Point is, if it is revealed that it is in fact Ryze, that would make sense. PLUS the show makes a direct comparison between the hex core Viktor uses to a world rune, and which character has a strong lore relationship to world runes ? Ryze does.
@@homelesswizard3161 Ryze is old enough to be directly involved in, and now preventing, the events Heimerdinger is afraid of, so he's centuries old. He hasn't picked up his scrolls and books of world breaking secrets too dangerous to be away from his side in the last 15 years.
No, it doesn't make sense for the guy we know is centuries old, whose design reflects the knowledge and power he's amassed over that time, to transform completely in a mere 15 years
The "wolf guy" is indeed a Vastaya, but he's not a wolf, his name is Rengar, and he is a lion, basically he is a bounty hunter who seeks the ultimate hunt, wich he finds in Kha'Zix (another league champion, he is a void monster), they both have a rivalry because they almost killed each other when they first fought, causing Kha'Zix to flee badly injured and Rengar with a missing eye, Rengar is based of Predator (from the movies) and Kha'Zix is based on Alien (also from the movies), and they have a nice "mini quest" in game when they are on opposite teams, if one kills or assists on the other's death at a certain point of the game, the one who gets the first kill when the quest is active gains a pretty relevant bump on their abilities (Rengar gains the ultimate stack on his passive, which gives a huge stat bump and Kha'Zix unlocks his 4th and last evolution, wich enhances his basic abilities).
a few days ago, i was playing as rengar against a khazhix, and the challenge happened!!!
I died in a team fight and he won the duel off i guess :(.

I know the starguardian AU has a cute Lightcannon interaction, but really, I'm failing to see how lux ends up in Piltover in the first place, and then ends up meeting jinx of all people. The ship is built of off and AU, not lore so I don't think it will happen.

Jinx just set a magic nuke off in Piltover. You don't think Lux's magic radar will pick up on that? Even if she doesn't (I think she would), Demacia would have every reason to worry Piltover may cause another Rune War level event; sounds like a job for the Crownguards. Lux, and even Garen, would def want to have a word with Jinx. Setting off magical weapons of mass destruction.

Considering Rengar is also one of the Sentinels, it is not necessary hinting at the New Dawn

Necrit video - The story of league of legends is a must to gather context for what is and about to be
Riot released 4 short stories which lead up to the Call. Each of these stories set's up the lore you see during the cinematic. Would be a nice read if you really want to disect what happens lorewise. They are called: 1) In Battle, Broken
2) Hollowspun 3) Dead of Winter 4) The Faceless God

CONGRATS ON THE SUCCESS LETS GOOOOO. hope this channel blows up ya'll are great and earn the success by cultivating this great community and engaging with us how you do.
Learning champion abilities and who champs are is its own Pandora's box, but if you guys are keen most champions have something called "Champion Spotlight" where Phreak (one of the north American shout casters for the LCS - he's been casting competitive league games since season 1) gives a breakdown of champion abilities. If you just search the a champions name and "Champion Spotlight" you'll probably find them or at least a playlist of champ breakdown videos.
To get the best experience out of the Call you probably should get to know the framework for deities and how they operate in Runeterra. Basically you should know two things: The Call depicts conflicts between Aspects or Demigods, as well as characters doing their best to hold back the Void.
Aspects - gods or more accurately demi gods in Runeterra (the world the league universe takes place on) are often called Aspects. Aspects often select a mortal vassal to grant their powers to who then carry out their interests in the mortal world. The chick with the golden armor, sword, and shield that saves Ahri in "A New Dawn" for example, is Leona the Aspect of the Sun. A demigod of the Sun has chosen Leo as its mortal vassal and now Leo is that demi god incarnate in mortal form. One of the main featured characters in the Call is a guy named Pantheon, he's the aspect of war who has turned against the other Aspects and is trying to destroy the gods themselves to free humanity from them and give mortals true autonomy. Another demigod that appears in the Call is a long dead Demi-god named Volibear (pronounced volley-bear), he's an ancient demi-god of the storm (has lightning powers) and is a giant polar bear that lives in the Fjreljordjjjjj. He created a race of half bear half men vastaya and he and his people fight against the rest of the Fjreljordjjj to destroy civilization and send the north back to the old ways.
The Void - The void is the true great evil of Runeterra. The shadow isle are a physical manifestation of death and Viego for a while was the big bad of Runeterra trying to cover the world in mist so he could get his wife back, but normally the Shadow Isle keep to themselves. The void on the other hand is constantly trying to cross over from their domain (like the upside down in stranger things) to convert Runeterra and all life into more void space. Monsters of all sizes occupy the void, from little voidlings, to champions playable in game that are as big as mountains. The void is chaos, all consuming, and is always trying to corrupt runeterra or its people into weakening the barriers between realms so the void and spill over. The hexcore Viktor makes in arcane for example is absolutely spawning something from the void.
A note for all these videos and all season trailers: The season trailers are hype videos to get people to play the game, so they more accurately depict in game stuff than they do lore stuff, especially in the early days of league. The most recent season trailers less so but what your watching most of the time is referencing the game rather than story events or lore.
So in both these videos we're looking at two teams of five fighting each other.

Twist of Fate characters:
OG Fiddlesticks - before Riot reworked Fids into an Eldredge horror he looked like that and threw crows as people. Still the same concepts, a fear demon that feeds on and senses your deepest fears. (jungler in game).
Twisted Fate - guy with the cards, from Bilgewater, Graves' brother. (midlane mage in game).
Garen - derp demacia. Mostly people don't like demacia cause their a country of hypocrites, their racist against mages but Garen himself uses magic to summon a giant sword from the sky as his ultimate and his sister Lux is a mage too so fuck those guys. (brawler/tank top laner in game).
Katarina - the OG Noxian assassin character. She can blink behind enemies and fights with a ton of knives. (Midlane assassin in game).
Tryndamere - pronounced Trin-Dah-Mear, Tryn is a barbarian from the north, and basically is just too angry to be killed. He's infused with rage magic i guess? Riots pretty vague on his the details and frankly he's way overdue for a rework (he's on of the og champs), but the more damage he takes the more rage he gets and he can literally keep himself alive just by getting mad enough. (fighter toplaner in game).
Annie - have you met her bear tibbers?
The Baron Gnasher - so that big purple worm is called Baron (or Gnash), in game there are two big jungle camps that give your whole team buffs and bonuses if you can kill them. The baron is the big one. So when he spawns teams usually fight over who gets to kill him and take his bonuses.

to be fair mages did almost end the world and people are racist for less reasons then that lmaoo
@@n3v3rforgott3n9 but the mages involved with the rune wars (if that's what you're pertaining to) are all either dead or not in Demacia. It's unfair to pass down biases they formed on the past to younger generations. It's like punishing children for the crimes of the parents.

I've been waiting for ur league reactions in everytime in everydays
about the big monster in a twist of fate, yeah its a in-game element, basically as you said the point is destroy the enemy base, so you have to do a lot of things to arrive to that, so a help instrument are the jungles neutral monsters, they give buffs if you kill them, so there are three that give the biggest buffs, the dragons that keep spawning during all the match, the rift heralds, two giant crabs that appear until the minute 20 of the match and if you kill them and summon them, they can damage towers(you need destroy the towers to arrive to the enemy base), and finally the nashor(the cinematic monster) that give the biggest buff that would be allow to get better minions that make a lot of damage, the minions are just a group of little soldiers that spawn equally for each team for make you up level or help to destroy towers
the girl in gold armor is leona, she's an aspect(God of the Sun) her lover is Diana also an aspect (God of the Moon)
Apparently Mel is wearing the same dress as them cuz they're Targonian,
17:08 I present to you Nautilus. My fav champion in the game. he is a sea diver that got trapped undersea and left behind by his crew. after a few years traped he came out of the sea to seek revenge. so his aspect is more like the older sea divers use to dive underwater

ive played league since season 2, and whenever jinx came i i fell l in love with her and started playing alot of jinx, shes my favorite attack damage carry(ADC) and when i started watching arcane, to see that the main stroy or at least season one revolved around my main champ was so amazing, made me love it that much more. i couldnt keep my eyes off the screen lmao. love arcane and cant wait for season 2!!!!
Fiddlesticks has an interesting in-game interaction with Jinx: "Jinx! ALL YOUR FAULT! ALL YOUR FAULT!". That's him bringing her nightmares from the past...
Since you guys have done "terror in demacia" it might be interesting for you guys to watch the "fiddlesticks interactions with other champions" video. It's basically a compilation of fiddlesticks mimicking the champion's last words or trauma before killing them.

honestly i never comment on videos, and i discovered this awesome pair reacting to my favorite video game/games, im a huge fan og the league of legends universe and the lore behind it, so i like to see the feel you get for the characters, if i could recommend something, since you two seem interested in the different bands etc. make ur mods, or who there is making ur videos line ups, do one with all the opening ceremonies at worlds, they are amazing, even the old ones are brilliant and riot keeps going at it, and i promise you, ur Ahri and Ekko is in some of them ;). GL on this channel and keep doing what ur doing, you two makes my day when i see these type of videos, fills me with joy to see "newcomers" in the runeterra world :)

That creature is known as the “baron” it can be killed by either team in order to get a boost for your team over the enemy it’s not a necessary enemy to fight but if defeated by one of the teams really helps boost that said team

For the Twist of Fate:
1. Twisted Fate - guy with cards is throwing them with different effects. Gold card is his ultimate.

4. Nocturne fighting him. Formerly spirit demon freed to physical world to search and feed on chaos and darkness
5. Garen of course with shiny armor and great sword using his whirlwind ability and big giant sword falling from the sky as his original ultimate
6. Katarina fighting Garen. She's an Noxian assassin using dashes and double daggers. There are feelings between two of them, a little love crush to be clear. It's obvious via their ingame interactions
7. Tryndamere - the barbarian king involves with his magic altered abilities and hell of a huge arm/sword. His ultimate ability is short immortality, so that's why garens sword pierce of his chest does nothing
8. Annie - we all love and hate her, throwing her ultimate to summon Mr. Tibbers
9. And at last original Baron Nashor - as almost right said, he's an NPC creature (beside animals between lanes and dragon on the opposite side of the map). Defeating him mens getting huge buffs (ablity power and physical strenghts) for all living team members.
Pretty much spot on, except Twisted Fate's ulti is not his gold card, and Garen's ulti still uses the giant sword.

I highly recommend Legends of Runeterra. It's endlessly entertaining watching the cards interact with each other; they'll talk to other champions you (or your opponent) play, mock your opponent for taking too long with their turn, and recognize their friends and enemies even for normal non-champion cards. There's also a campaign mode, with special story levels for 5 of the Arcane champions (Jinx, Vi, Echo, Caitlyn, and Jayce).

Guys, what u can do for seeing abilities would be making polls for people to vote from 3 champions, and the winning champion would be the one you react to their abilities, using the videos called "champion spotlight" by the original League channel. You could start with Jinx or Vi but if you already know them, Jayce and Caytlin could be first and then whoever wins the polls, like Viego, Senna, Braum or others from the cinematics you've watched.

The Ivy woman, is Zyra, she’s basically a plant mage all of her in game abilities work around her spawning living hostile plants that do all her damage.
The red headed “No comment” woman is known as Katarina, she’s an assassin, the red scare across her eye was from another assassin named Talon who was hired by Katarinas father to kill her.
The “cyclops” looking guy with the big Anchor is Nautilus. He’s a very annoying champion in game, he has a lot of crowd control and his main ability uses his anchor to grab enemy’s and pull them towards each other.
Yes league is very toxic, luckily there is not in game voice chat so you don’t have to worry about people screaming at you lol but they do have an in game text chat which is where most people are toxic, but you can always mute your teammates or enemy’s if they’re being toxic.
If you guys are interested in finding out about the lore of league there is a video by a man named Necrit who briefly sums up the lore of the league world runeterra. Call me crazy but I am most excited for your guys star guardian reactions. It features a lot of your favourites like Ahri, Jinx and Lux and also introduces a lot of new characters I think you guys would like. :)
The guy in the giant divers Suit is named Nautilus, and he’s from Bilgewater. Also it’s hilarious that Jax just suddenly shows up and instantly gets knocked out by Nauti’s anchor. Big brain move right there from diver man.
yeah the monster that you saw in the first cinematic is called Baron Nashor and its a monster in game that when a team kills him the whole team gets a really over powered buff that makes them stronger, the other monsters that you can find in the map are dragons of different elements
1. The dude with the cards is Twisted Fate. He has yellow, blue and red cards that he throws that each do different things, including one that teleports.
2. That is Fiddlesticks in his old design.
3. Purple " Thanos" guy (ironic considering one of his later trailers) is Ryze. He used to be sort of the unofficial mascot of Riot. Appeared in a lot of the really old, lower quality trailers and plays a big role in the overall story.
4. The shadow guy with blades is Nocturne. Shadows are just basically his whole thing.
5. You know Garen. He's not so much here because he's popular, it more seems that they were showing the more introductory characters that people would start with in that trailer.
6. The redhead is Katarina. She's a Noxian assassin, and it's always been kind of rumored that she and Garen have a secret thing for each other. There's even a concept, line-drawing animation for the two of them that seems to have been shelved unfortunately.
7. The firey dude with the huge sword is Tryndamere. Well that's one of his skins. He's kind of like a viking king character. His ult makes it so he can't be killed for a short duration.

9. The giant snake thing is Baron Nasher. It's a monster on the main map of the game. The monsters aren't really obstacles, more like side objectives. They carry certain buffs that they give you when you kill them, and baron's buff can be a massive late game changer.
10. You know Ahri, and yeah, she's very popular.
11. Leona is the paladin character that basically threw the sun at Darius. She's not from Noxus, but from Mount Targon.
12. Draven and Darius you've seen. Not sure if you knew they're brothers though.
13. The plant lady is Zyra. I don't really have much to say about her.
14. You know Graves, you know he and Twisted Fate are partners, but there was a really cool event back in the day involving those two. They had a real big beef, cause Graves got arrested because of TF's plan and TF never came for him. So the first thing Graves did when he got out was buy a shotgun and go after him. At the end of the event, they resolved their beef and now they're back to being partners in crime.
15. The big lion guy is Rengar. He is also a vastaya who basically lives for the thrill of the hunt.
16. The purple guy is Jax. He is a warrior who just used a lampost in combat because he is considered undefeatable with any real weapon, and he wants to give his enemies a fighting chance.
17. The giant metal guy is Nautilus. Not sure what his story is about in the new lore, but he's basically an undead guy who died in that diver suit in Bilgewater.

The Thanos guy is actually called Ryze and might have been in the Arcane series already but thats more of a suspicion. Also yes he does protect some pretty important stuff.
The guy attacking Ryze is Nocturne a Shadow-Demon born from Nightmares and Terror.
The other guy with the Giant sword is Tryndamere a Warrior from a Barbaric Tribe from Freljord but for some reason they put an alternate look onto him (skin) known as "Demonblade Tryndamere".

The woman in the golden armor is called leona and is part of the solari. To be precise she is the "aspect of the sun" so like a chosen one by the gods or something. You will see one more of those "aspects" in "The call" so be hyped.

The Vastayan Ahri Warwick cross is actually a Vastayan called Rengar but he isnt related to Ahri or Warwick. But i think he also has some relations to the Void and has some kind of Alien vs Predator vibe going on with one of the Void Champions.
Ivy is actually called Zyra and should come from the jungle of Shurima and is a result of Carnivorous plants and a Magic reaction.
One of the guys you missed is the guy in the Puple suit the glowing eyes and the burning weapon ,wich is actually a lamppost or lantern, is called Jax and is one of the survivors from Icathia before it got overrun from the Void (purple creatures that where also seen in the warrior clips with Kai Sa and Ezreal or one of the clips coming in "The call" ) a reagion south of Shurima.

Btw I am sure yall would be pleased to learn that Arcane won awards in all 9 of its nominated category for the annie awards which is a big deal for animation as the annies are like the oscars but for animated films and shows. This makes Arcane have the 3rd most annie awards despite only having 1 season so far which is extremely remarkable.
Also you should definitely react to 2019 worlds and 2021 worlds because those were the best imo though you can watch all of em :)
I recommend the entire star guardian series for LOL. Star guardians is an alternate universe skin line and has lits own separate lore in it.
Also since you like Jinx's character, you should watch the Battle of the Bots | Gizmos and Gadgets Launch trailer which has Jinx in it :)

There are videos out there showcasing characters special interactions when there's a bit of backstory to them. Even if you don't react to them, they could be fun to see on your own time.
Oh damn, I would like to share so much with you after watching your reactions :P Both of those cinematics were loaded with abilities of those characters from game. This gold lady is my beloved Leona, she is tank/support, very often feels like she is unkillable and in cinematic they presented pretty well how she "feels" in game. She just goes in, no matter what :D That big, heavy can with anchor (named Nautilus, he has some lore connections with Miss Fortune) is also damn well done in cinematic. If he catches you - no escape. And there is nice detail: while that rock is falling on his head he throws anchor away. Thats also in-game skill reference, he can pull himself to walls with that anchor. 21:48 - you did, in The Ruination recap videos, he is from Ixtal ;)

The Kitty is named Rengar, my boy, he is assasin prayhunter who is vastaya with lion part. Fun fact he is one of the smallest from his clan.
Nice tie between Mel's golden armor and the shielding woman in the second cinematic. She's a support character and by now you probably know she belongs to the Solari people; well, there's a Solari item in the game that applies a shield to your ally team members nearby, so who knows if Mel is secretly... 🤐

I really enjoy your reactions and I'm also really getting into the lore after watching arcane. Although i've been already playing league regularly. So my general reaction to your questions is just: "okay, how much do you want to know?" :D
Basically in these Videos they always show one or more of their in-game abilities.
Ahris "Ultimate"-Ability for example is just multiple dashes, which she often uses in the cinematics, but she can also charm enemies with a heart she throws out (which you can see in some K/DA-Videos). But sometimes they show things, that aren't really in the game but just in the lore. The part, were you thought she charmed them (with the laughing) is probably not her charm-ability (could be though) but her lurking "evil" power, which is part of her lore-backstory (she consumes souls or sould fragments).
So i recommend the official interacive map of runeterra, where you can see (nearly) all the champions and their region and read up on their backstories.

The thing i love most about the "new dawn cinematic" is: Daruis it's against a Vatayan with powerfull wild magic, a woman with the power of the sun and a lion that stabs him in the stomac; what does he do? Punches the freaking lion in the face.
