All of the animal hybrids of Shirima, Nasus, his brother Renekton, and Emperor Azir were all ascended using the powers of that giant sun disc. Xerath was Azir’s private slave who stole his ascension and ended up as a being of pure energy. By comparison, Azir and Nasus are good, Renekton and Xerath are evil.
Overall, Azir is fairly neutral, he’s an ancient emperor from Shurima resurrected, and he mostly cares only about restoring Shurima to its former glory. He thinks he’s doing the right thing for his nation, but it’s implied that a lot of smaller cultures in Shurima don’t agree with his ideals.
Also, Legends of Runeterra is constantly trying to add more single player modes, so that more casual fans can play and build decks with their favorite characters without worrying about being “good” at the game
Azir's dialogue with Sivir in Legends of Runeterra is hilarious.
Since Azir is an ancestor to Sivir, he talks to her like an awkward dad trying to be cool.

The mystical beast fight off is between Nasus ( the dog ) and renekton ( the crocodile ). Nasus is also the narrator of the first clip and Renektons brother.

Yeah and Nasus was quickly shown in Ryze video too.
Originally Renekton just a beastly entity who sought to hunt his brother Nasus, and that... was it. He was on of the original Judgements, and it only chronicled summoners using him to fight in the Fields of Justice. Nsuswere two animal-headed demigods (and brothers) who were guardians of a lost civilization. Nasus had even less than that, wasn't even one of the original War Institutes Judgements. It wasn't until Xerath did the story start. Originally Xerath was a Shurima mage who had a weird idea about just... letting the chaos of magic take over and not exert control over it as mages do. Xerath decided to create a ritual to unleash an uncontrollable amount of magic, and turn it into a spell. From the judgement it's implied he was overhwelmed by the arcane and was bound to a stone sarcophagus, and implies he probably destroyed a whole city. Back then Shurima was wasn't much more than "city in a big desert". It wasn't until Azir did his lore change, along with Nasus and Renekton. You can read the short stories on the site, but Azir's Ascension gave Nasus, Renekton, Xerath, Sivir and Cassiopeia more lore agency. Cassiopeia is also one of the few to have a Judgement. Though I remember years ago she was a Noxian spy-mistress and sister to Katarina, daughters to a commanding Noxian general. While Katarina did the "wetwork" Cass traded secrets. Though this doesn't seem to be in the judgement I remember there was a story where she was instructed to ply some secrets from some noble from a far land. He told Cass she had to keep the secrets, and asked her to swear on a strange serpent idol. Thinking little of it she did, and when she betrayed the noble by telling the secrets to her father she became cursed as a half-serpent. The new lore does work better. Sivir was basically a mercenary and she was THE BEST. She had grown very rich from the mercenary world and she and her company commanded the steepest of prices. It was easier to tie her into Azir with Shurima, since she is originally from Shurima, and being a blank slate helped.
If you wanted to look at the old lore you'd have to search for "The War Institute". The old lore isn't on the official site anymore, but there are a few wiki pages which do. It's all text stories but it makes for an interesting read in how they tried to shape the lore around the game.
They are both inspired by Ancient Egyptian Mythology. Nasus is Anubis, Renekton is Sebek/Sebek-Re.
Azir is Horus.
I admire the fact that you try to do your homework for The Call cinematic. The community love reactors in general but we love it the most when the reactor actually show interest with the lore.
LoL's lore is full of impressive storytelling and world building. Can't wait for the both of you to discover it yourself.
The call is probably the hardest to get with the lore, its mixed a lot of stories with least known characters, few gods, few stories from lore and 2 completely new things that probably will be written soon

The story of Azir is why I am convinced we need a couple more shows in the style of Arcane, each exploring a different net of characters and morals.
Arcane for Piltover and Zaun's science and opression themes
One for Shurima's issues with slavery and godly powers
One for Demacia's brutal inquisition and civil war
And one for the triad of Shen, Zed and Jhin in their clash of ethics and family

Honestly, Shurima could be spun off from Arcane very easily as both modern Shurima and Zaun share the same history. Zaun was part of Azir's empire as Osha Va'Zaun. Hextech crystals are also sourced exclusively from Shurima (unless Arcane changes what they are substantially).
I would say a Freljord story would be amazing with Sejuani, Ashe and Lissandra. Could even do flashbacks to the War of the Three Sisters, and introduce Avarosa and Serylda, Lissandra's true born older sisters completely.
Personally I'd love Bilgewater. I need more Miss Fortune, Twisted Fate, & Graves interacting. They could do the whole miss fortune revenge on gangplank story along with some minor side stories of other bilgewater characters like pyke TF, graves, GP, Illaoi etc...
You mentioned Taliyah comparing to Yasuo! Actually in the lore Yasuo becomes Taliyah's mentor during her time in Ionia He teaches her his techniques!
30:54 Yeah good pick, Heimerdinger's flashback in Arcane was about the Rune Wars where Mages were fighting for power and control, some of the World Runes were used in that ancient war and they caused mass destruction, the World Runes together could destroy the world and that's why Ryze try to collect them, he wants to lock them away so no one can ever use this power.
it actually isn't the rune wars was about 4000 years ago and heimerdinger is about 300ish years old.

According to the lore Ryze is way too powerful. When he says "some say i hold too much power" is absolutely true. He's VERY powerful.
And those crystals are World Runes. A world rune is EXTREMELY powerful.
A guy only touched it once and he become Brand the champion in league of legends. A burning fire demon.
And yes these were the world runes heimerdinger was talking about.
The Rumors of Ryze being the wizard who was in Arcane is because his ultimate ability in game is teleportation. He can teleport himself and his team anywhere in the map. Which he did in Arcane. He teleported all of them into another part of the world which had summer.
The only problem with Ryze being the mage at the start of Jayce's story is that mage wasn't purple.
@@colpul2103 Maybe he was in bad shape. The state of his fingernails was atrocious, so maybe he'd been out in the wilds for a long time. He'd lost his healthy purple complexion :-p In all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd just decided to make him not purple as a design choice. Maybe they thought it didn't look right in the context of the world, maybe they didn't want to make it too obvious, or maybe they're planning on having him turn purple later via some story event.
I just find it highly unlikely that they'd use an altruistic, super powerful mage specializing in teleportation magic in their League story and make it an original character instead of Ryze. Plus in the Call to Power cinematic the teleportation magic he uses makes a very similar sound to the ones the hexgates make in Arcane, and the hexgates were created from knowledge Jayce got from seeing the mage's teleportation spell. It's not guaranteed to be him, but I'd be very surprised if it wasn't.
@@kenjutsukata1o1 you are overthinking it. Why would they change the whole Ryze's apearance instead of just you know not making it Ryze? Also he is purple because he is interacting a lot with magic and world runes and he also has runes written on his whole body he wouldnt lose his skin colour just because he is in a raugh shape lol. Also there are plenty very powerful mages that arent in League of legends. It could be very likely just a wandering targonian mage. Also ryze doesnt use a staff and those weird crystals with runes.

The reason I think that the mage in Arcane isn't Ryze is because he used a gem to cast the teleportation. I don't think Ryze needs a gem to use magic because he is powerful already.
By far the most genuine and enjoyable reactions to watch to League's lore and Arcane :)
i 1000% want a separate League series that focuses on Ryze, he is an extremely interesting character
Shurima is stylized after ancient egypt as you see and here is 'rough' tldr of the story of the region, it begins much earlier than what I start here from but too much to explain - just relevant to those characters:
- Shurima was an empire west of Piltover (in canon, non-Arcane universe Zaun was actually og Shurimian village)
- They had power to empower worthy people into Ascended beings - they usually took Animalistic shapes - with use of The Sun Disk (you can see it at the end of Rise of the Ascended video)
- Narrator of 1st 2 vids is Nasus - Curator of Sands, Ascended (The Dog-Shaped one) and War Tactician for Empire, Guide for Azir too.
- Other Ascendents are Renekton (Crocodile), Azir (only after his resurrection, like in narration - Bird-like) and Xerath, but his case is weird.
- Main 'drama' is that Shurima was Slave-Powered empire and Xerath was Azir's personal slave. Because they became friends, Xerath murdered everybody that could threaten Azir's rise to power - in hope that Azir will free all the slaves... but Azir didnt do it for a long time. He wanted to but also wanted to secure himself a stable position to become an ascended 1st, and his grave mistake was that he didnt tell Xerath about it. So once Azir was supposed to Ascend, Xerath didnt want to passively watch how his chance for freedom passes away, and pushed Azir off the thingy for Ascension and took power for himself. Azir died, Nasus locked Xerath in the tomb thanks to Renekton's Sacrifice and empire fell in civil war with other Ascendeds fighting for power - that became known as Darkin.

A very good simple explenation
On the day of the ascension Azir freed Xerath and the slaves like he promised to. But Xerath was already too far gone in his own want to power. Azir was unfortunately too late in fufilling his promise.

wait, that is where Darkin come from? I thought they were a different thing altogether that opposed Targon. Something with Blood magics and being almost exterminated, with the remaining few being sealed in the weapons they are now. Also something to do with Vlad too I think. Did they change it or am I just totally insane, I can not remember where I heard all that though.

Azir is amazing, he is the legendary EMPEROR of all Shurima, the last descendant revived by Sivir's ancestral blood by accident, the story is amazing
and despite that guy not being AKSHAN, he passed by, because they are from the same region and have similar personalities
Just to Clarify: The Runeterra world has a lot of characters that isn't a champion in League, But has a important Role, like that Lady with Azir, in Legends of Runeterra you can meet this characters by their cards in game
Also, in the League of Legends Website, you can find some Audio Books, with Tales of some characters and their regions, I recommend listen to that off camera just because it's nice and you get to know more about their story and personality, I love the Yasuo and Taliyah one

Quick breakdown of each character in the cinematics (not gonna do timestamps this time because there's so much overlap and because most of them have their names said). Disclaimer that Shurima is probably my biggest blindspot lorewise. I'm very new to Runeterra lore in general, so I'm still learning:
Casseiopia (cass-ee-oh-PEE-yuh) is a Noxian noblewoman (as the video says). What the video doesn't show is that she underwent a transformation in the tomb and is now sort of a cross between Medusa and a naga (as in she looks like a naga (upper half is a human, lower half is a snake), but she turns people to stone like Medusa).
Sivir (rhymes with "whither") is a Shuriman mercenary. Unbeknownst to her, she is also the last surviving member of Azir's bloodline, and his heir to the Shuriman throne. Sivir, however, wants nothing to do with Azir or the Shuriman throne, and so her whole story revolves around Azir being like "my daughter!" and Sivir being like "no."
Nasus (first syllable rhymes with "can") narrates the first two videos and then shows up in both Empires of the Ascended and Ryze: Call of Power. He's the jackal man. Renekton (reh-NECK-tohn) (the crocodile man) is his brother. Their lore goes that Renekton was a mighty but good-hearted warrior, and Nasus was his sickly, nerdy brother. Nasus was selected for Ascension (basically becoming kind of a god) by the Sun Disc, but was too frail to walk to it, so Renekton carried him, even though he as a mortal would be destroyed by the Disc. Instead, the Sun Disc decided to reward Renekton for his selflessness and they both ascended, hence why they have animal features. Much later, Renekton sacrificed himself so Nasus could seal Xerath in a tomb, but Renekton went insane in his centuries of isolation with only the equally insane Xerath there with him. In the centuries since Shurima's fall, Nasus has been maintaining the massive underground libraries of Shurima in his role as the Curator of the Sands. Side note, Nasus is actually one of the few unambiguously good characters in the lore. He's a super chill, kind-hearted nerd, which is kind of ironic since in-game he's a massive juggernaut fighter whose kit revolves around getting more powerful when he kills things.
Azir (uh-ZEER) was the emperor of Shurima. Xerath (ZAIR-ath) was his slave. I don't fully understand their story, but basically they were close friends, Azir promised to free the slaves but was unable to keep this promise initially, and by the time Azir was able to keep his promise, Xerath had felt so betrayed that he staged a massive revolt, ultimately leading to Shurima's downfall. Xerath has transformed over time into a being of pure arcane energy. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Azir's head thing is just his head. It might be some metal plating, but even if it is plating, he still has a bird head. He's very much modeled after a combination of Ra and Horus, just as Nasus and Renekton are respectively based on Anubis and Sobek.
Taliyah (long e; ta-LEE-yuh) is... yeah, sorry, I don't know much about her, unfortunately. I'll look her up and get back to you.
Rek'sai (you got the basic pronounciation right but the emphasis should be on the first syllable). She (yes she) is a hulking monster from the void who now lurks under the sands of Shurima with her countless Xer'sai children. Her in game kit is actually split into two forms; her base form where she walks around normally (ok, normally's the wrong word, but still) and her burrowed form, where she tunnels underground and can't use her basic attacks but has higher move speed. Despite being massive, she is extremely fast when tunnelling, hence how she moved so fast in the cinematic.
Ryze is an ancient mage who's been alive since the Rune Wars (which is what Heimerdinger is scared of in Arcane) and now travels Runeterra hunting down the World Runes to make sure that kind of horrible power doesn't fall into the wrong hands. He has no particularly strong connection to Shurima as far as I know. The middle bit of the cinematic shows his travels across Runeterra. In order the characters we see are: Miss Fortune (you saw her in Tales of Runeterra), Nasus, Sona (the musician; you saw an alternate universe version of her in the Pentakill video; in lore she's an Ionian mage living in Demacia who I believe is currently on the run due to Demacia's recent crackdown following the mage rebellion), and Trundle (the troll king; basically, he's smarter and more tactical than the other trolls (but, like, not that much better) and now he's their king and has led them to fight under the Frost Witch Lissandra).
Many consider Ryze to be "the main character" of the league universe. The lone hero on a quest to stop the big bad existential threat.

I don't think there is a main Character in leagues lore. If anyone would be it. It would be Aurelion Sol. Created Runeterra and Disturb the Watchers. Heck Aurelion Sol getting free is an existential threat on itself.

20:56 any character whos name is like {2-4 letters}'{2-4 letters} is a void character, they are easily recognisable cus they are usually all purple monsters, like rek'sai, kai'sa, vel'koz, cho'gath, etc.
the only exceptions in void characters to that naming scheme are kassadin and malzahar

@@rivershen8954 Kai'Sa is literally a symbiote with the void and part monster, so it's not inaccurate. The thing that doesn't make sense is why she would be called that prior to her void merger. Also, from a character-lore design standpoint, she is a monster. She is a girl that supposedly survived the void and looks like a supermodel with cleavage, ass, hourglass body, no scars, make-up and no damage to speak of. She is a monster of design when accounting for the lore. Terrible. But her newer looks with The Call, the image in the comic and the statue do redeem her a little bit since they added some roughness to her which was well needed.

Personally, I reckon the markings on her face should be grooves in her skin, like purple gills or something. I reckon that'd make her sufficiently creepy whilst still being as....photogenic as she is
@@chrishaven1489 Yeah, that's partially what they've done with the statue, especially on the body. But they haven't updated the original splash so it's kinda pointless :/

Taliyah is my all time favourite champ. Good pick with the Yasuo link. Yasuo is her teacher. Taliyah left home when her 'earthbending' powers started because she wanted to have better control so she didn't hurt anyone. Most of her cinematics revolve around her returning and trying to find her nomadic family.

@@CarlieAndAnge Yasuo can use his ultimate on anything that gets "knocked up" in game. Talyiah has a knockup in her kit, so they pair well together in game.
And Taliyah fights against the Void and she isn't happy with the last Emperor Azir, from the fallen Shurima's Empire, ressurected, Shurima's Empire is a slave Empire, that's why Taliyah is afraid of ascencion of Shurima's Empire again.
@@razzledazzle1 i mean, the's much better ones sinces Taliyah's knock up is harder to land than even Yasuo's own tornadoes. Gragas, Malphite and diana are the best combos.
But also, Yasuo is Taliyah's mentor in lore so they do have a real connection.

Ryze is speculated to be the guy who teleported Jayce and his Mother from the mountains. He used to look normally but the runes changed him. He is like the original wielder of arcana in the lore.

Yes, Ryze is actually pretty badass, he is at least top 20 most powerful characters in League lore. He's seeking those stones in order to not let anyone use them again
I would say he is maybe top 20 without the power of the runes. With them, I think he is top 2 (Aurelion Sol is 1st, he litterally created the universe)

Out of the many reaction youtubers for LoL you guys are certainly one of the fastest when it comes to correctly guessing the parallels between cinematics and the connection to their lore, i really appreciate that.

Call of Power is one of my favorite cinematics, and seeing how you reacted and the discussion part of It, makes me love even more watching you. Some interesting things were said in Shurima’s parts, like Akshan, but, as we say in Brazil, It happens in the best families haha.
Ryze is actually one of my top 4 favorite characters in League, with Ekko, so there are two more to go. I love his lore and his path to save the world from itself, searching and containing the global runes, and his quotes in the game are awesome as well. The only two missing are Zilean (another “time bending” character, that has his cinematic on the Legends of Runeterra channel called “Guardians of the Ancient”, pretty short and with Irelia and Malphite) and Zoe (that unfortunately, don’t have one cinematic, she a energetic girl, aspect of Targon, that almost never gets down and sad, buuuuuut she also has her own role in the Star Guardians’ alternative universe from Riot and has appeared in the Star Guardians cinematic where she is a villain that makes you have nightmares, literally, so I’m very excited to see when you two are going to watch It, and when this time come, I’ll sure write more compliments of my enjoyment).

Just to add a few things (not sure if someone already mentioned this) so Azir sees Sivir as his precious grand daughter, their dynamics in game is kinda funny because Azir tries hard to be close and bond with Sivir but she wants none of that despite being practically an heiress to Azir’s empire. Also would just like to add that Cassiopeia is actually from Noxus, she’s the youngest daughter of one of the very powerful houses there, the Du Coteau family. Her older sister is Katarina du Coteau, the girl with the long red hair (which Ange liked a lot 😂) on previous cinematics. It’s kind of a thing in Noxus to have this ‘power play’ over households. I believe it was mentioned in Arcane how Mel’s mom, Ambessa, visited Mel in piltover because she heard of the power of the hexcore/gemstone and she wanted that power for the Medarda house in Noxus. Same way Cassiopeia went into Shurima to get an ancient powerful weapon in order to bring more power to house Du Coteau. But as shown on the cinematic, she failed and got cursed to be half snake instead

Shurima's worldbuilding is definitely my favorite out of all the League lore, the characters are so cool and Azir's journey to reborn the once great empire is amazing

Yea, those are "World Runes" that he's gathering, they're capable of creating worlds (and destroying them). Wars broke out between rune holders, which is known as the "Rune Wars" and resulted in god-like destruction (I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but i'm pretty sure the war turned an entire nation into a crater). As result, Ryze has spent well over 1000 years confiscating and hunting down these runes to keep them out of everyone's hands in effort to prevent future rune wars.
This storyline was the coolest for a hot min we we’re getting close to war, and sivir would have to decide if she was going to be royalty nauseas would face his brother etc. but it was dropped and now taliyah is with kaisa preparing for the void and I’m not sure when the story can continue

That humanoid dog in the "Akshan" trailer is Nasus, the narrator from the first videos, and the crocodile man is Renekton, his brother. Nasus is kinda good and Renekton is kinda bad if im not mistaken, Azir is beloved by most of his shuriman people, i never really looked into his lore.

I am legit so proud that Arcane features Ryze as a teaser. He is League of Legends. He is the first and the most important of them all.

Azir's probably got the coolest design in the game, and has one of the best designs in terms of gameplay. I'd play hin more if he wasn't so hard to master
What Ryze was collecting were the world runes, the world runes the catalyst for magic in Runeterra. But in human hands magic is not so good, humans waged wars using the world runes so Ryze took it upon himself to find all the runes and contain them. The Pillars where Ryze put the World runes was made out of petricide, a special type of stone that absorbs magic so that the magic emitted by the runes are contained. Petricide is also heavily used by the Kingdom of Demacia a very anti magic/mage Kingdom.
Nasus(Dog man) is an ascended warrior of Shurima, he's the narrator of the first one, and brother of Renekton(Croc man). I suggest looking at a creator named "Necrit", he gives a run down of the whole history of how the current land of Runeterra has come to be. He's so respected by Riot in fact, that in the game "Ruined King" he got a character named after him, a lorekeeper :D
Epic video! Just for clarification, Taliyah and Yasuo know each other in the lore. Yasuo was Taliyah's master, and he helped her learn how to control her powers! There's multiple stories on the Universe page about them both, The Bird and the Branch series, to be exact.
Taliyah is my favorite character and my main in League. It's great that you're reacting to some stuff with her in it, she's a champion with a very low playrate in game and it's great to see people give her some love.

Just found this channel a couple days ago and already watched every arcane episode and other league of legends content to the point of this video and I saw someone already react to some of the cinematics in this video and I thought: "I've already seen reactions to some of these clips so I can just skip those" and when the first clip I've already seen a reaction to came next I thought: "Yeah so just skip this one... but it's the reaction from carlie and ange... maybe i'll just watch it too". Thats when I realised u actually make good reaction content (thanks). I noticed I was too focused on just watching the videos that I wasn't even subscribed at the moment but now I am. Might just check some non league stuff after finishing these lol cinematics. Hopefully theres something I've watched or I can watch "with u" or something

Fun Arcane fact! What Ryze is showing here when he says "never again" is the calamity Heimerdinger witnessed in the past. The Rune War. When he tells Viktor how the hexcore looks exactly like the thing that brought nations to ruins, he's referring to the runes Ryze is collecting. These runes could be compared to an Infinity Stone, they give their wielders godly powers and this is what started the Rune War.
Love your reactions!! Little lore facts, the croc and the dog are Nasus and Renekton used to be brothers, used to be Human as well. Long story short they were worthy of ascension thats why they are now what they look like. Fun fact the person who saved Jayce and his mother was a young ryze before his skin was purple, so the purple guy in that last video is a magic-user, and a bunch of stuff happened with him and his master. All that matters now is that he’s on a quest to return all of the (infinity stones for lack of a better term) to their rightful place, and the cinematic was basically to show how strong he is for resisting the call of power it takes immense will to not take the stones they have wiped out nations before

Ryze is actually pretty similar to Thanos. But not in a wrong way. He's blue because of all the magic he's using and consuming. And those crystals are Runes. The Rune Wars were a big event in the past, i've told you about it in the last video i think. He's gathering the Runes so it's power won't fall into the wrong hands again. But it requires a lot of will power to him not to be consumed by it. Ryze is one of the most important champions to Riot along the time. But he's not so powerfull in game anymore because he also got a lot of reworks.
The crocodile guy is Renekton Cassiopeia freed in the first Shuriman video. The jackal guy is Nasus, the voice narrating the first two Shurima videos and also Renekton's brother.
Rek'Sai is a creature of The Void beneath Shurima. It was the giant creature in the scene with Taliyah and Kai'Sa in The Call.
If you see purple and it's not Shimmer, it's usually related to The Void. The Void is a little bit similar to the Black Mist in the Shadow Isles, in that it's a malign force that's the result from powerful ancient magics gone wrong.
in the ryze clip we see different champions, some we already saw/know
- miss fortune (pirate with two guns, she's from bilgewater)
- nasus (dog boy, from shurima)
- sona (piano girl, she's mute and from demacia)
- trundle (the beast that screams at ryze, literally a troll, from freljord)
- and possibly vel'koz (eye thingy, not sure if it was him though, someone correct me, from void)

Ryze is collecting the world runes so that no one becomes corrupted by them, the world runes created the world.
First of all, great reaction, i really enjoy your reactions to the League cinematics. Second The narrator of the first videos is Nasus an Ascended, he is a big man with the head of a Dog, and his brother is Renekton another Ascended, he is like Nasus but with a Crocodile´s head, theyy first where humands but due to the Ascencion Ritual, that is gaining power by being struck by the sunlight reflected by the Sun Disk.
Xerath on the other hand is a Bakai (a Bakai is an Ascended that went wrong, since when Azir was going to ascend he killed Azir and took the power for him but since the ritual wasnt for him he ended without an actual body just a mass of energy and power, he was sealed in a coffin but he then escaped and when Nasus says failure is cause he was "Forced" to seal Renekton with Xerath on the tomb of the emperors.
Then speaking of the last cinematic we have Ryze the last great Rune user that is not bad, since we have some bad ones on Noxus and Brand (Another Champion, his last apprentice is now bad due to the corruption of a Rune), Ryze mission is to gather all runes and hide them from the world to prevent another Rune War to happen, and the Creature that Ryze fight at the end of the cinematic is a Voidling, a Void creature like Reksai creatend by the Watchers a race that wants to destroy all life on Runeterra and they also seek the runes since they are pure life energy.
Also Azir is not like Viego, Azir want to recover his territory and make Shurima as great as it once was, in other words kick the Noxians out of his territory.

Some characters in Call of Power you might've missed:
On the pirate ship - Miss Fortune (before she became captain)
In the Shurima dessert - Nasus (the narrator of the first two videos you watched and the dog man that fought the crocodile man Rebekton).
In the golden pretty place (around Demacia I believe) - Sona, who uses a special instrument from Runeterra which is like a mix between a harp and a piano. It has a name but I forgot.
In Freljord - Trundle, a troll king.
Another character, the eye creature he kills, is the same type as Vel'Koz which is called a Watcher. These are very important to the lore. And lastly, a little detail you might've missed (which is easily missed) is that one of the world runes is missing - the blue one. From what I remember that rune is embedded in a Shuriman artifact which a gauntlet of sorts that is held by Ezreal (the boy Kai'Sa saves in the Warriors cinematic) and part of that rune is held by Willump who is a relatively young snow Yeti which amplifies his magic. He has a friend called Nunu (a little boy) and they are super cute duo.
Ryze is pretty much the main character of the world of Runeterra since he is traveling throughout it and trying to save it from itself. Another detail I may have failed to mention is that the forest Ryze is in, is made out of petricite wood (correct me if I'm wrong) which negates magic, so it's a really great place to hide the world runes since they are pretty much undetectable there from the outside because the forest dampens their arcane properties.
Rek'sai is a void creature, those ones can be recognized by their purple and blue colors and very weird kinda alien forms. She can create those portals in which she can move extremely fast like almost teleporting as you've seen there
You two always get a really good grasp of what is happening and who those characters are (regardless of that minor akshan error xD to be fair, he looks alot like him). Love your reactions and that you try to dive into the lore of those cinematics as well. You can really see that you're interested in the comments the league community is leaving here, since you always comeback with more knowledge in every video. I'm looking forward to your The Call reaction, the animation is beyond anything i've seen so far. However, don't hype it too much as its lore is very intense and not explained at all there (so don't be frustrated about that). Keep it up guys!

The runes were used by the Celestials to create world of Runeterra but were lost after and scattered into pieces around the world. After a few thousand years, humans from different regions around the world (Shurima, Noxus, Icathia, Frejlord) started discovering these runes. These runes are basically like nukes. Each region having one nuke and refusing to give up the power as they feel threathen by other regions if they give it up. Eventually someone fired the first 'nuke' and the rest of regions followed, starting the Rune Wars which Heimerdinger had flashbacks on.
Ryze's mission is to go around the world to collect these runes and hide them safely away so no one can use it to start another war. But he is doing secretly so no one actually knows what his true mission is. That's why you can probably see whereever he goes the locals are hostile towards him.
One of my favorite stories is the ascension lore, my first main was Xerath, i really love his gameplay, voice, lore, everything
He is also one of the strongest if we look at lore, also the ascension has many champions related to each other, Renekton, Nasus, Sivir, Cassio, Azir and ofc Xerath
Fun fact! Cassiopeia is from Noxus and is the sister of Katarina who is the red haired assassin from other League cinematics
You have said you want to know everything you can to understand The call so here you go:
The thing you need to understand is lore of some specific champions. Here is the list. You read these stories, you understand The Call.
1. Sejuani lore
2. Pantheon lore
3. Kai'sa lore
- (mby) Taliyah lore
- (mby) Leona lore
And yes, Necrit has videos where he tells all of the above stories, so you can just watch these videos. But be carful with the Pantheon video, because he has some 'The Call' footage in the video since Pantheons story was released with delay and it came out after The call. Also here are the titles of most important stories Necrit made videos on regarding The Call: 'Sejuani will fight Volibear', 'The heartbreaking story of Pantheon after Ruination',
Thats a lot of fking lore to read they also need to read new Kaisa x Taliyah story and the newest sejuani story together with bios.
Notice that Rek'Sai and Rio look similar in that purple void look.
(Rio was that salamander looking thing that Singed had in Arcane. "The mutation MUST survive." )
You knew the woman in the first flashback: that's Miss Fortune (Captain Fortune). The next one is Nasus, he's from Shurima and you saw him earlier in this video, in Empires of the ascended, he was stopping Rennekton from getting the seal to make water flow. And the last one you don't know, she's Sona, she's from Ionia.
In the Call of Power, In the end there is one missing rune. The one missing I believe it's the inspiration, it is blue. The other runes are Domination, the red one he just now has returned. Sorcery is the purple one, resolve is the green one, precision is the yellow one.
I am no sure how that relates to lore though.
But in the game there are three types of ways you can customize you play style. The most significant one is probably the champion you decide to play, but after picking your champion you get to decide what rune tree you will pick as your main and your secondary rune tree. This runes trees have different abilities that you can select depending on your plan in the game and how you want to play your champion. You can't change them once you start the game so you must chose before hand. And when you are in game there is also the ability to purchase items. You can have a max of 6 items in the game and those are bought with gold from killing enemies, minions or taking down towers.
In arcane I believe that when victor is using the weird cube we can see the symbol for most of the runes but not all of them. Inspiration does not show in victors magic cube or whatever that is. Inspiration is also the one missing in The call of power, there is no blue rune. That's all I know.
PS: When I play the game I hate inspiration I believe it's the lamest rune tree of all. I don't know why they chose inspiration for the rune missing. The inspiration has a description that says: "creative tools and rule bending."
