Just go back and see what Petraeus said about a failed Zelenskyy offensive or what he said in March last year. You can trust Petraeus to be wrong about pretty much everything. He is an embodiment of a negative selection in the army.
I don’t know English well, but the Russian publication wrote that in this interview the “general” said that cluster munitions were delivered late... is this true? In Ukraine now there are many unexploded parts of such supplies... how many civilians’ legs will be torn off after wars...who will clear the Ukrainian lands? This fucking "general"? This fucking "general" knows that the Russian army, in response, also started using these prohibited shells? He's an idiot...As we say in Russia: On your cunning ass -there is a penis with a screw...
The interview here and the book, Conflict, which I am currently reading are very insightful. The book lays out some very clear keys to understanding the US shortcomings in Afghanistan and Iraq, including a failure to recognize the deadly consequences of pulling out too soon made by Trump and Biden in their Afghan decisions, and by Obama in his Iraq decisions. But beyond that they provide a good understanding of how the US failed to plan properly for follow-on operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq after early military victories. Well worth anyone's time who wants to gain a clearer picture of the many difficult challenges posed by all of the wars we have seen since 1945.
What he says about HAMAS shows that Petreas has the wrong big ideas on the Hamas-Israel conflict because he himself is too one-sided in favour of Israel and he does not recognise the fact/truth that Hamas is provoked into taking the Oct 7 attack. In fact HAMAS had to do it, to stop the apartheid oppression of the Palestinians.
Blinken’s public “encouragement” for Israel to reduce civilian casualties without every time also publicly reiterating that Hamas is ultimately responsible for all civilian casualties is counterproductive. Also, it’s not obvious to me that Israelis are doing any worse of a job in minimizing casualties than General Petreaus did in Iraq. So, it would be much more helpful if the administration acknowledged that IDF has been doing everything possible instead of continuously lecturing Israel. Blinken’s lecturing actually amounts to blaming Israel instead of Hamas
Wait a second, at spring 2023 this guy said Ukraine has all the weapons needed for victory, now he says it wasn’t enough. What version is correct lol
The man is a disaster and he has blood on his hands from the Iraq nightmare. My family says most gave him a vote of no confidence.
Nothing I can add to the fine points made here. My only wish is that WaPo can do more to get this interview in front of viewers and readers.

I couldn't have said it better myself, a few in my family have been around him. They say he's a disaster.

I don’t understand what he is talking about.
