Thanks for the review. Turtle Beach it is. I was still rocking the Turtle Beach 500p they broke a week ago i got 6 years out of them. It was between these two headsets.

Great comparison review. I especially liked the loudness comparison. I'm leaning towards the TB for bluetooth capabilities, if it had a 3.5 jack it would be perfect.

Turtle Beach Bluetooth feature sold me. Bought the artic 7p and the usb c dongle blocks usb connection in PS5. Going to return and get the turtle beach. Review was much needed thanks!
thats because if you read the instruction manual, that isnt what it is for, that is for the swtich/phones. cable plugs into back of ps5 so you can place the dongle pretty much anywhere.

@@Dylanp1997 Everything I expected. Im extremely happy with my purchase and recommend this headset to all of my friends. Sound quality is loud and clear. The headset cooling gel actually works! Haha aside from that, the battery lasts as long as advertised. Also very well built and not flimsy feeling like old plastic headset. 10/10 recommend. Youll get your moneys worth.
Thanks for the honest review. I was totally sold on the Arctis until I heard the comparison to the 700 gen 2 for myself. The turtle beachs really do sound better-and that mic. So good.
i was using the turtle beachs stealth 700 gen 1 for about a couple years now so I decided to upgrade. I first bought the arctis 7x thinking they were the superior headset due to all the great reviews but once I received them and tried them out. I immediately noticed a sound reduction, as my gen 1’s would get louder than the arctis but sounded about the same in quality, so right then and there i new i had to try out the new turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2. Once i got the Gen 2’s i was BLOWN AWAY with how great the sound is compared to the arctis headset!
@@LePochie I also notice when you showed the specs that the Turtle Beach’s speaker frequency response was 20 to 22,000 Hz as opposed to the Arctis’s 20 to 20,000 Hz. Now I am absolutely no expert nor am I an audiophile but would that make a difference?
@@michaelritchie9634 I’m not an expert either but i’m pretty sure it makes a difference since the stealth 700 also use 50 mm drivers.
They really do sound better. I just took my arctis headset back to bestbuy, looking for the the 700s gen2 and they didnt have them in stock. 🤷🏽♂️. The turtle beaches really do SOUND better all around. The arctis FEEL better on my head.
I had to return my Gen 2 700s as they basically bricked within 2 days. I had no control of them and they wouldn't turn off . Using the 7x now and have zero issues

A review I have been searching for as these 2 retail for the same price. The big bonus between the two that you didn’t mention was that the Turtle Beach headset has Bluetooth connection as well. So your able to answer a phone call while gaming or listen to music.
I would be curious to compare the Stealth Gen 2 to the Arctis 9x as that is more of an apples to apples comparison. Except that the 9x’s are $199 vs $150 of the Turtle beach set.

Update: I got those TB Gen 2 and they are friggin' dope!👍👍 Sound is really amazing. I also own steel series 7 that I can plug into the Xbox remote, the SS do not compare to the TB. The only con was the TB were tight, so I stretched them by gently pulling the ear cups away from each other every so often. After about a week they are so comfortable it's ridiculous. btw had to do the same thing with the SS which I thought we're tighter and I would have to take them off inbetween games because they would clamp my head into a headache. Thanks again man so glad I choose these TB they are great! 😊

I have the Stealth 700 Gen 2 and Astro A50 for my Series X. The 700’s are what I use exclusively. I loved the Gen 1 and the Gen 2 is just that much better. I just ordered the 7X just to have them, so I’ll see how I like them. But it seems like I’ll be back to my 700’s soon... 🤷🏻♂️
I do love the chat volume wheel on the 700’s. That’s one reason why my A50’s don’t get used. That and the use of a base station.
I got my brother and one of my friends to also get the 700’s and they, like me, have zero complaints about them.

I have the TB 700 gen 2 for my ps5, it rocks. Just got the xbox series x also and bought the microsoft wireless headset. Why? Because 99,9% of youtubers praise them. Once I turned them it was EEEEEWWW. I played with all settings, installed dolby atmos, but it cant come close to the TB. The TB sound is so crisp and clear, and if you want you can turn the bass hella up. Pinpointing in fps games is sublime, the xbox headset is kinda a guess where shots, footsteps come from. Just ordered the TB 700 gen2 now also for the xbox. The xbox wireless headset is loud, thats about it.
If I never had used a headset before I would have liked the xbox headset I think lol. The TB beats the microsoft headset in sound and accuracy. Make a wise choice new viewers who come across this post xD
@@pinokio3785 i had mine for a a few month before i gave up on them and returned it to the store.
Sound and comfort was top notch.
However, the multiple bugs that made my headset cut out for no reason and crash and make me go goddamn deaf were not worth it.
Sometime it would disconnect or cut in the audio for no reason while other time it would just power down altogether when started them.
Plus, when i started them and they connected, the audio was ill adjusted.
Sometime i put them on and use then i go deaf cause it decided to be at 100% of the volume just because.
Its easy to fix, you just have to use the wheel to go to 0% volume and then put it to your desired volume.
That is, if that crash it.
Yes, making the sound to 0% sometime crash the headset.

You’re the only person with an unbiased review. Idk if people are sponsored my steelseries but pretty much every review says that steelseries are overall a better headset for sound etc. If you look at the specs then without a question the turtle beaches are louder due to their bigger audio drivers. I just couldn’t decide between the 2 and now thx to use I can say I’d go for the turtle beaches any day
Appreciate it man, thats why i made the review because when i was deciding between the two everybody was saying steel series was the better buy. So I bought them first & immediately wanted to return them due to the sound quality, low audio and lack of audio features that i liked on my old turtle beach stealth 700 gen 1’s. Then when I bought the gen 2’s i was a happy camper. Exactly what i was looking for!

I have the Arctis 9Xs rn for my xbox. My friends keep complaining that my mic is too quiet or keeps cutting in and out. You may have just sold me to the Turtle Beaches on that mic comparison!!!! Its like night and day! The turtle beach micc sounds SO much clearer and having better sound and the app support is also a major plus. These are almost 50% off on the black Friday deals I may have to pick these up in the next coming days!

Good review as I have had both headsets I like the steelseires more than the turtle beach. The turtle beach had some good points brought up about them but they aren't built as good as the steelseires as I have had 2 pairs of the turtle beach headsets broken and I never hit them,smashed them, or threw them they just fell ,so in my opinion get the steelseires.

I heard on the turtle Beach stealth 700 that they fixed the mic problem with an update.
Running like a beast still, a year later. My wife uses them now. As I upgraded to pc so i use a different headset now. But no isssues

I'm still rocking the Turtle Beach XO Seven Pro's lol. They actually still work just fine I'm just looking for an upgrade and being able to ditch the headset audio controller plugged into the bottom of my controller. Was torn but I'm getting the stealth 700 gen 2 for sure.
I have the Steelseries Arctis 9x and they're simply amazing.
The light didn’t get annoying when you have the microphone off ?
They were pretty good headphones. But now twice in the past 2 years they’ve just shut off and won’t turn back on. The first time I reset with the tiny button under the ear cup, this time it’s not fixing it. They won’t charge, power on it anything. So while it’s a pretty damn good headphone when it works, they have some issues as I’m not the only person who’s dealt with this.
Gonna just replace them with the Turtle Beach unless Steel series will fix them for me.

Dude...you have the best comparison out there. Half of the people that review the 700 gen 2 don’t do any type of research before the review.
After about 15 other videos, no one mentioned being able to adjust game and chat volume independently on the 700 Gen 2.

That aircraft carrier comment is spot on. When i listen to a mic test i think, how much does it make you sound like a pilot. Question, did you by any chance test the bluetooth on a video or a movie? Any delay between video and sound?
I have the older 700 for Xbox and the fact that it hasn’t gone bad or just hasn’t changed at all makes me love turtle beach I just can’t switch since they make everything so simple
On my 3rd 700... One started cracking n popping, 2nd just stopped turning on..hence on my 3rd

I own the the steel series arctic 9x for xbox series x and I just picked up today the turtlebeach stealth 700 gen. 2 for my playstation 5. You are 100% right the turtlebeach sound better, better bass, bigger sound stage, and they get louder. There is trick to make the steel series a little louder, it works look it up. The steel series are nice but the turtlebeach are just better, especially the app is awesome, I only wish they came in white to match ps5.
I’ve got 7x I use on ps5 and Xbox one s....how do I make them louder. I think there trash I may send them back if I can’t figure out how to make them sound better
@@azgard8914 they have a limiter for European markets, they say if you put volume to max, shut them off, lower volume knob to minimum turn them back on and turn up volume they will sound louder, I tried it not sure it worked. Stick with the new turtlebeache stealth 700 gen 2 awesome headset worth every penny, for wired im loving the sennheiser gsp 500 so clean and open, deep bass
@@david029014 i got the 9X for christmas and to be honest i feel like i rather use my stealth 420 turtle beaches that have tape holding them together. i play Rainbow six alot and everyone in my party who i play with daily knew i changed mics. the game sounds dead and i cant find a balance with the one wheel for game/party volume. the volumes are very low and i am not a fan. What has me annoyed is when i did my research everyone said "steel series was the best" now im just annoyed and want my superhuman hearing and one wheel for game volume, one wheel for party volume. I will try this trick tomorrow one more time and that is it. ill return for the turtle beaches if i cant figure this out.
@@Audizzle same here, I remember I got the 9x they were supposed to be top of the line, nope, low volume, thin bass. Turtlebeach is the best right new. I picked up the razer kaira to try out, sound just ok, nice app that works throurh xbox console to change settings. But Turtlebeach still sound better.
Another thing guys all these headsets have volume limiters now a days because of eroupean markets, it sucks.

@@MeMe-df7lr You need to download the turtle beach software and then plug your headset into your PC using the included USB C cable. The firmware will download as soon as the software detects the headset.

Is there a way to change the stealth 700 gen 2 ear pads because when I play for a long time, they can get uncomfortable
I had the Stealth 700 Gen 2 for a couple weeks and I had a lot of issues with them cutting out sound so i returned them. Ended up getting the 7x.
And how was the sound on the 7x comparatively?
I would say that the 7x overall had slightly worse sound. I’m not like very critical but I could definitely notice a difference.

Same goes for people who bought the 7x who got issues. Its all a gamble with all headsets to receive a 100% working one.

How long does it take to pair the turtle beach? I have the 700 gen 2 and it takes a couple of minutes for it to pair to my ps5. It pairs instantly to my phone
I was thinking about buying the Arctis 7x to replace my 700 Gen 2. Main reasons, 700 get hot and they are tight around the head. After seeing this I will just stick with the 700's :)
This video is 4 months old, can you give a long term update about your turtle beach 700 gen 2?
Still working perfect for me. The only thing is i will get interference here and there but not enough to bother me. Got like interference 3 times so far of owning the headset. And it lasted about a minute long to. I game quite long as well. Honestly the best gaming headset I’ve owned to date for the money. Still beautiful, sounds great and super comfortable also a couple buddies of mine got this headset as well and still working great for them as well. Not trying to sell you on this headset. I just highly recommend it, as being a hardcore gamer.

The way I saw it as they are both very good headsets and sound good but like said the turtle beach sounds better and probably does.
But as you said in video it also has cutouts like the 9x and it's more conftable on steelseries headset and doesn't get hot also cost is better on turtle beach.
So in my opinion steelseries doesn't sound as good but not far of the same or better if change the eq settings the mic is better on the artic then the base sound on the turtle beach but same could be said on turtle beach.
So my win here over comfort to sound quality and connection on steelseries not to mention you can go wired on it with a 3.5mm jack and still have same eq settings and better battery live then Turtle beach.
I think artics are better considering everything in my opinion but I'd love if more competively priced but they are not far off.
turtle beach stealth 700 is better when i use bluetooth listen music from my phone while gaming is the bests and phone call best best 10 out of 10 while gaming CoD and my friends phone me and the game chat close on xbox n i was like praivte talking on my call phone than when it ends hang otu the gen stealth 700 goes back to game chat, so crispy headset awesome love it
Great comparison review but you can tell that he has the steal series mic way too far from his mouth, the steal series mics are made to cut out background audio and if it’s too far from your face it will sound choppy and overall not right. However if it’s closer the mic sounds perfectly fine, not as good as the tb but still a fantastic choice. So I wouldn’t recommend judging the mic for the steal series from this review
I’m debating between these 2 and the Astro gen 4, I have the gen 3 but it sounds like shit on the new Xbox series x and lost the 7.1 3d sound. Does the turtle beach use a optical cable? And if you had to pick between those 3 what has the clearest 3d sound

Thanks man! So that static and cut out is only when you talk loud or just randomly? If its when you talk loud, try not to curve the mic towards your lips and if its randomly do you play with your wifi router in the same room?

Bro I literally just sold my TB because I was having the same problem. Don’t get me wrong the audio quality was great, but the static and audio cutting in out was sooo annoying I couldn’t take it (Im 5ft away from my Xbox btw and updated the latest firmware). My friends would also complain that they can hear everything in the background (like my girl on her phone) even when I had the “noise gate” option on in the app. I tried to return them but it was too late they wouldn’t let me. Now I can’t decide whether to get the steel series 7x or the Astro a40s + amp. Decisions man.
@@LePochie Can you explain how the WiFi router affects the headset. I just sold my TB because I was having that issue but my wifi router is in the next room as my Xbox is in the living room. @@danielj3752 honestly I went back to TB stealth 600 gen 1 it’s honestly the same thing same audio and the mic is 10 times better the ear cups are more comfortable and it’s lighter. Trust me it’s worth it u won’t regret had it before this one and it lasted me 2 years and have another and it’s dong great. Thanks for the feedback btw appreciate it man
im pretty sure the arctis headset uses the exact same wifi protocol to talk to the xbox, it has to. oh nevermind you are right. You have to use the dongle they provide. the xbox wifi protocol is vastly better.
So I had to switch from my Astro a40’s due to the no optical cable on the slim, and I have the 700 2gen rn and they don’t seem loud enough :(. I want to try the steele series but now idk lol
I don't understand the microphone section. The steelseries sounded worse than the turtle beach yet the turtle beach sounded like a "walkie talkie" when it sounded pretty good... Unless you mixed up the tests?

With the app make sure your connected to your phone via Bluetooth from the headset, and then try to open up the app. It works perfectly for me everytime as long as i’m connected through Bluetooth on my phone. And I’ve been using the headset for a while now and had no issue’s sorry to hear that. Maybe i just got a good pair lol but thanks for watching and have a good one!
So I guess I got a bad one... I exchanged it and I haven't had any problems. Even the app is working.
@@BigChckenDinner Mine died within 5 minutes yesterday. It died when I tried to connect it to the app. Exchanged it today, 1st thing I did was update the firmware, just used it for 2 hours no problemo. Iam stil hesitant to connect it to the mobile app again :/ And yeah I also bought it because of this video, 7p mic is a bummer.
@@pinokio3785 I'm already looking for new headphones. The mic has no noise cancelling. My friends can hear everything. I'm constantly being asked to turn off my mic. I hate playing with people where you hear everything happening in their house, and I'm one of them. 😩
@@BigChckenDinner I havent used it yet online. But in the ps5 settings of the mic I could hear myself breath through the mic lol. But in the app they have an option to reduce your sound (backnoise its called I think), after turning that on, it was night and day, couldnt hear my breathing at all. Still have to test it online with players tho.
Yeah. I bought the Steelseries 9X and I´m very disappointed on the volume set at max, it just ain´t loud enough. Not even after I hooked it up on my PC and went in to the settings off the app.
I will give this away after I bought a new pair of Turtlebeach.
And my Steelseries loose connection just after a few meters away and on top of that they doesn´t always connect to the party chat... If I´m in a game and connect to party sometimes it doesn´t work, just silence, I still have game sound though. In order to fix this I need to quit the game and restart my Xbox. I have the latest update on my 9X headset aswell.
Did you have the volume on the console settings turned up? I was seriously considering the arctis 7s, but with what I have been seeing people say about the low volume, im thinking that it might be a pass. Never thought that I'd be getting a turtlebeach headset, but its basically down to those and the blacksharks. The cloud 2 is on my radar as well.
I just bought the Stealth 700 Gen. 2 today and off the rip they are tooooo tight and clamp down with alot of pressure. Mostlikely going to try to get my hands on the new Arctis 7x i know alot of people are big on sound but i rather have MORE comfortability.
i would recommend these to someone with a smaller head than mines😂😂😂

Might buy the turtle beaches, that metal in the headband is a big W because the plastic cracking it’s what made me switch from turtle beach to astro in the first place
Turtle beach gen 2 you can also customize super human hearing now at first it was either on or off
I can run game & chat at the same volume but i like to play with the game volume at almost full blast and some of my friends have really low mics while other friends have really loud mics so its great to be able to adjust the chat volume and game volume separately on the turtle beaches than sacrificing either the game volume or chat volume on the steelseries.
Also I definitely recommend the stealth 700 gen 2 if your looking for a wireless xbox headset. I think its the best bang for your buck in a overall gaming headset.

I had the same problem with my turtle beach r for ps5 returned it got the arcris 7p instead its fire so I'm getting the 7x now
Did you try changing the EQ on the 7x? Some EQs on them are quieter then others
What eq settings do you use? I like the headset but in warzone the sounds arnt balanced enough.

I got the turtle beach but they keep on crackling/popping. It’s very quiet popping and doesn’t happen often but it’s still annoying enough for me to want to take them back. Does anybody know anything that will help?
I like turtle beach but I never tried the super human hearing but I heard it's great . For cod and stuff yeah turtle beach
Use another port. Or buy an usb splitter so you can adjust the angle of the splitter with the dongle in. The problem isnt the headset, its the dongle.

On the mic test for the Arctic 7x he had the mic to far from is mouth as I have the 7p which is the exact same and mine sounded like a sennheiser or Corsair virtuoso mic.

People that have static, popping or disconnect issues with the 700 gen 2...are having the issue after the firmware update from TB?
I have them and I hear a low static on them I just bought them the other day
