    I just bought the same speakers for my reckless fairing. It's good to know they fit I had my doubts.

    So I have a in line fuse between system to battery. You said you have two. Is the second one coming off the amp before the slice? Also how did the hot glue hold up holding the amp in place?

    I also had a thumb drive but over a few short weeks, I found that it wouldn't fit in there real tight, and while riding, would work it's way loose and I would lose connection, so I went strictly Bluetooth. Thinking about getting an external antenna when I put the amp in.

      Dale Troy I had a similar problem but it turned out to be the USB connection going from the faring to the head unit so I electrical taped it tight, then zip tied it even more tight together... Now it never skips or looses connection at all!

    Informative vid brother. Just picked up a xc2410 for my set up thanks for the thumbs up on the clarion unit. How's it holding up?

      bugman916 So far so good. I have not been able to get out and do any real rides yet. I live in the Midwest (Indiana).
      But I've had it out for a few 1-2 hour rides since it was installed and everything seems to be good.

      Hows the 2410 working for you. Just bought one myself

    I too recently purchased a Reckless fairing for my Road King (and live in Indiana as well), and got the 2-5.5" speakers and have the same head unit as you do. I plan on adding an amplifier this winter. My question to you is, does your AM/FM work because I get NOTHING but static. I had someone tell me that since they have the antenna inside the fairing, reception is terrible.

      True the internal antenna does make a HUGE difference. But truthfully I’ve found outside of Indianapolis when near the interstate I don’t have trouble finding something halfway decent but I hate listening to radio. Up until till recently I almost always Bluetooth music which I still do a fair amount of. But, I recently purchased a thumb drive that is ridiculously small that I put about 300 songs on. I use the random feature to mix it up.

      Been 3 years, and finally pulled the trigger and got the Clarion XC2410 amp, pretty much the same as your, except the new versions have more adjustments such as gain control and frequency adjustments. So, all you did was take the RCA outputs from the amp and plugged them into the RED and WHITE line output with the grey wires from the Infinity head unit correct? Didn't splice into the existing speaker wires correct?

    did you put a inline fuse on your amp? hot gluing your amp to your fairing, a nice custom amp brace would have worked ..

    • @hankreed1
      @hankreed1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christina Lopez... Yes, there is a inline fuse in place. (Technically 2 actually). A bracket would of worked yes. But, I don’t like to spend money! Lol

    how has the glue held up? Also did you use speaker wire to connect the speakers or only the RCA cables from he amp and head unit?

    • @hankreed1
      @hankreed1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The glue is still holding strong!

    • @hankreed1
      @hankreed1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used RCA cables

  • @supermanwilson23

    So the speakers were powerful enough to take additional power? (that's good)

    • @hankreed1
      @hankreed1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, I called the manufacturer and asked, they said that the amp I choose was just about perfect for them. I have probably installed 25 aftermarket radios, and speaker swaps in the last 20 years... But, I haven't messed with amp's in over 15! I never did fully understand much back then about high and low impedance, peak and RMS...
      Back then, I just picked an amp I thought looked cool or I could afford, and went with it! Now, I know a little more, but I'm still learning.

    I have a question and I don't know if you can answer it but here go's. I have ordered the Clarion xc1410 4 channel amp. while I was removing the outer cover of my Reckless fairing I noticed that the Infinity Head Unit had 2 channel RCA output cables . I thought this headunit had 4 channel RCA cable output, until I realize the other pair of RCA's went to USB port connection. My question is do you think I need to install a set of RCA Y splitters to supply signal to all 4 channels on the Clarion Amp? thank You for any help on this.... Nelson

      I was thinking the same thing when I took mine apart… But right now I’m only running two speakers so I didn’t put too much thought into it. My best guess at this point would be yes you need to use 2 Y splitters

      Thanks for the fast reply, I'm going to try it. Let you know how it turns out. Amp suppose to be arriving Wednesday

      Well the amp is installed and I couldn't be more happier. installing the RCA splitters worked perfectly sending signal to all 4 channels of the amp. The sound is loud and distortion free..... thanks for you suggestions
      couldn't bee happier

    But if you would have compared the size with a $1.00 wouldn't the one be smaller??? LOL
