    I made a custom Marine Corp themed harley. I wanted the eagle globe and anchor symbol to come through fender so I ordered an acryllic fender and just tinted my clear. My problem is that I am getting cracks and such in the acryllic fender and everything I try to fix them don't work. Nobody I talked to knows how to fix the cracks and get it to hold. I am thinking I need to go back to the drawing board and get a fiberglass stretched fender and try to work a lexan lense into the fender so tail light shines through. Any ideas on how to do this?

    • @RandomAudioGuys
      @RandomAudioGuys  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I'm visualizing what you made there correctly then it almost seems like you need to turn it into a mold and reproduce it out of plastic. Plastic starts in a liquid form and you can get the exact same type of plastic that is used for vehicle lenses.

    • @keithwellman1294
      @keithwellman1294 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RandomAudioGuys A mold for whole fender or the Marine Corps emblem? The whole fender is already a clear type plastic (acryllic) material. I put red led's behind and only tinted clear. The fender itself is cracked in different areas which is why I was thinking of doing or getting a fiberglas fender (more sturdy) and working in a 6" circle of clear like resin into fiberglas for the tail light.

    my bags were Dynomatted for heavy BASS ....can I Fiberglass over the DynoMat?

    • @RandomAudioGuys
      @RandomAudioGuys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't recommend that. The mat is a sound absorber but also helps the sound waves to clean up the sound for a better bass response. By fiberglassing over it you would defeat the purpose. It should have been fiberglass reinforced then dynamatted.

    I was wondering if I could follow this process for making my own stretch bags?
    I have the 2014 abs Harley bags and I wanna fiberglass the rear into my own stretch bags.
    Do you think I should put one layer of fiberglass around the entire bag for extra strength??

    • @RandomAudioGuys
      @RandomAudioGuys  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1 layer of glass is not that strong. It gets its strength from multiple layers. I'd consider 3 or so if you use 2oz mat. When you purchase your fiberglass mat it will have a thickness/weight rating. That determines how much you will need.

    Hi, they are incredible. But I wanted to ask you the exact name or where I can buy the blue fleece like the blue and not like the bank? I would like it much if I do not find the right one. I would be very appreciative.

    • @RandomAudioGuys
      @RandomAudioGuys  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can use Polyester, Even Cotton tshirt material is good for a startup that will hold enough resin to hold the shape, Lycra material is very good if you have a ton of curves and strong shapes, then for lighter shapes that dont have hard bends you can use Fiberglass Fleece.

    You do fine work but I have to wonder if the speakers get flooded with water. I don't know about you but, like most people, I have to ride in the rain sometimes and I also wash my bike. It seems very impractical.

    • @RandomAudioGuys
      @RandomAudioGuys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its always something we cross when dealing with Bikes in general. He has a few setups and we have yet to have an issue with it. He does get caught in the rain occasionally but knows to stop playing it when raining. So far so good but the Extreme bike system guys typically know what they are up against with weather for the most part.
      But the next customer may have this concern and we address each one depending on the bike owner. Also helps with custom work because they know 2 people don't get the same job at our shop.

    • @RandomAudioGuys
      @RandomAudioGuys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We only work on local work but Metra should have a product as do many others. These are custom because he didn't want to be like everyone else. Its not something people online sellers off from what I see. I would hit up a local audio shop or fabrication shop.

    • @RandomAudioGuys
      @RandomAudioGuys  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Knowing what your doing you will have about 8 hours in a pair. Due to set times and paint ect..... First timers or people not familiar with finish work will spend alot more time sanding but can still get good results.
