We are not each others Holy Spirit, we need to allow the Holy Spirt of God guide us into all truth. Woman here- this is fantastic!!! Thank you, pastor! There is so much misunderstanding from the world, they think this message is saying women should wear clothing head to toe, or women are to "blame" and are solely responsible for men's thoughts and actions. That's not what this message means!!! It's saying we as Christians shouldn't be focused on bringing any attention to ourselves (especially the inappropriate kind), and how we dress reflects our heart. Why on earth would I as a Christian woman want to cause a man to be distracted in the wrong way? When I was single, I desired for a godly man to find me attractive based on my walk with God, my personality, and my modest style. We must ask ourselves: WHY do we go to church? Is it to find a spouse, or to bring honor and glory to God and grow by encouraging one another by the Word? I think this pastor's message is spot on. It's not about controlling how women dress or how men behave, it's about encouraging and cultivating a safe place of worship for everyone (men and women) to come together and not feel like they're stumbling with every glance at another person.
They can meet them at church or anywhere else Christians exist. I didn't say you shouldn't find a spouse at church; I was saying that shouldn't be your reason for attending church. You should go to grow your relationship with God and bring HIM glory in how He wants to use you. Everything else can happen naturally. I'm a Christian and didn't meet my husband at church. Amen!! Our pastor's wife addressed this in our women's group. She was kind yet firm. No man should have to fight this. Also ladies, please do what i call the light test. i pick up my skirt, dress and hold it to the light. If i can see through it, so can others(men and ladies) so please wear slips! Teach your daughters to wear them also. Had to tell a mom that i could see what color thong her daughter was wearing one day and if i saw it, i am sure all the boys and men saw it also. I went to a small church several years ago. I worked w teenage kids. The pastor was going to a seminar the next week and suggested I go. Downtown Dallas. There was easily 15k people in the arena. The pastor was speaking to these pastors about immorality and strongly encouraged any who struggled w immorality in their life to confess before God by coming a.l the way to where he was at conclusion of service. I thought that surely these guys didn’t have that problem. The preacher was firm and wouldn’t let it go. When it came time at least 60% of these preachers ran down to where preacher was to be prayed for. I’ll never forget it. So many men struggling w porn, with relationships outside their marriages. That thought was ingrained in my brain for for life.
Yea lots o phony so called preachers out there, the last Church I was at the pastor had a crush on one of the trustees wife, well she offered to make me some brownies, he got red faced and angry and next thing I know he tells me off and said he wanted nothing to do with me, yea , what a God called preacher.

I faced this situation the other day with a woman who I thought was visiting the church. I struggled because she was right in front of me the whole service. But then I noticed it was a seasoned member. I think that's the toughest thing. When we know what we should do but we don't. I won't act like I can't fight this more in prayer. God knows I can do better, with my side of things, but it is a slippery slope to deal with when your going to a place you want to hear God's word and hear a message of transformation and salvation!!! But not condoning us men who look too much, we could look away!!! Both parties need to do their part!!!

This is so true. My sister and her husband pastor our church and I had to tell my sister to talk to women in church about wearing very tight tops. He is right. It is very distracting while trying to listen to the sermon.
I agree 100% but there is just one thing to remember. Some people coming may be new in their faith and need sanctification from the Holy Spirit or may actually not be Christian but looking for God. And it may take some time for them to get there. We have to avoid to judge, to love them, and let the Holy Spirit work in them. But if it’s what is happening for any Christians at the church then we do need the pastor to stand up and tell the truth like this pastor did.

As a fellow Pastor, I say well done! All people should dress like they are meeting with the Lord, in His house, rather than going to a club. And another thing, twerking and dancing like you are in a nightclub has no place in the house of the Lord!
I’m not a wardrobe preacher. And I won’t tell people they gotta wear certain clothes to church (only dresses for women, and suits for men). But we (both men and women) should be dressing modestly, not showing everything we got. AND, it’s also the responsibility of all of us to keep our eyes in our own heads, and not on other things lol. You sometimes can’t help a glance if something out of nowhere catches your eye…But you can 100% stop the second glance from happening. Job said ““I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman?” Job 31:1 NKJV Every sexual sin starts with the eyes…then the brain, contemplating…and then action. Guard our eyes. Keep our thoughts on God. And dress modestly, so others don’t have to struggle with these things.

Since Adam, men have blamed women for their error instead of holding themselves accountable. Pointing your fingers at women, or anyone else for that matter, is not going to hold up when you stand before the Lord.
As a woman of God I agree, he is 100% right! Women of God need to be modest! However, just as he is reminding the women of the scripture that says we should dress modestly, he should also remind the men of the scripture that says a man should not look on a woman to lust after her. Some women do dress modest but men still look and lust. Job made a covenant with his eyes not to look upon a maid. Men today can do the same thing through the power of the Holy Spirit. My dear brothers in Christ, I will do what I can as your sister to obey God's Word, but every woman will not so in the event they don't (you) obey God's Word. Imagine how it would be if everytime a man of God saw a woman dressed inappropriately he ignored her... God holds us accountable for what we do with the desires of our heart.
That’s not a woman’s clothing problem that’s a YOU problem. My heart has been changed by the Lord and I began to dress more modestly but He changed my heart first to desire modesty and to please HIM. If you are desiring women/men other than your spouse then that’s a heart problem. Jesus didn’t say “ if your eye causes you to sin, tell her to dress more modestly” He said if your eye causes you to sin, pluck out your own eye. You see, this is a heart issue and should be taken to our heavenly Father for help to overcome. Some 50 years ago I visited a congregation in which there was a young (and shapely) woman who had an extremely short dress. I was invited to have dinner with one of the elders--and when we got to his home, this young woman turned out to be his diaughter. She came in to set the table, and when he bent over...well, there's a child's rhyme for this. Afterward I wrestled with the urge to mention this to her father while he was driving me back to my hotel, telling him that as the young man I was at that time, I'm trying to keep pur thoughts, but his daughter's attire was making this difficult---but I was afraid I would simply get accused of lusting after her, so I didn't mention it. (FIve decades later it's STILL a temptation!)
I'm 69. I've been brought up in church circles all my life. I have never heard a Pastor challenge the congregation in such a way. Sadly, many leaders today need their egos massaged as well as their income. Consequently, they chose to sit in the fence rather than speak the truth. I expect there'll be some women who'll walk after this challenge.
I went to a church for a few years. I loved that church, still do. I learned the most there and my relationship with Christ grew. I went away for awhile and when I returned the church had basically been destroyed because the pastor had an affair. I found out with who and I was not surprised at all. I felt she had her hooks out, and tried to do this. What do they call that? Jezebel spirit? Some women just do that all of the time, maybe because they want to see if they can. It's a sickness of the spirit. Men beware, the adversary will try to bring you down. So instead of being flattered, be wary.
There is so such thing as a Jezebel spirit. It's not in the Bible. It was a gimmick made up by pre-plastic surgery Juanita Bynum to shame women. Yes, Jezeel led King Ahab to idol worship and even murder, but GOD split Isreal in two because King Solomon not only married foreign women (which GOD forbade), but he allowed them to lead him to worship false idols. 1 and 2 Kings.
Men also should wear modest attire - I am from India and when I step out of the plane here I see both men and women dressed in ways that can tempt others. Ask the women what sort of male attire would cause them to sin.

Do you not understand that temptation comes thru the mind and one of the main ways it gets in is thru the eyes? Did you not learn anything from Genesis? This is just the nature of temptations. It's how it works. And if women were filled with love and not the desire to look beautiful which is just a transliteration of attractive then they would do what they can to help their brothers. And yes 100% the reason why men are having more problems then they should is because their minds are empty, not being in the word of God, not praying like they are supposed to, not fasting enough and of course their Body will take control of them. I recall having a crush on a choir girl as a teenager, without any lust at all, I should have stayed in that church. I think it was a holy attraction and she always dressed modesty.

Woman here- this is fantastic!!! Thank you, pastor! There is so much misunderstanding from the world, they think this message is saying women should wear clothing head to toe, or women are to "blame" and are solely responsible for men's thoughts and actions. That's not what this message means!!! It's saying we as Christians shouldn't be focused on bringing any attention to ourselves (especially the inappropriate kind), and how we dress reflects our heart. Why on earth would I as a Christian woman want to cause a man to be distracted in the wrong way? When I was single, I desired for a godly man to find me attractive based on my walk with God, my personality, and my modest style.
We must ask ourselves: WHY do we go to church? Is it to find a spouse, or to bring honor and glory to God and grow by encouraging one another by the Word? I think this pastor's message is spot on. It's not about controlling how women dress or how men behave, it's about encouraging and cultivating a safe place of worship for everyone (men and women) to come together and not feel like they're stumbling with every glance at another person.

I went to a small church several years ago. I worked w teenage kids. The pastor was going to a seminar the next week and suggested I go. Downtown Dallas. There was easily 15k people in the arena. The pastor was speaking to these pastors about immorality and strongly encouraged any who struggled w immorality in their life to confess before God by coming a.l the way to where he was at conclusion of service. I thought that surely these guys didn’t have that problem. The preacher was firm and wouldn’t let it go. When it came time at least 60% of these preachers ran down to where preacher was to be prayed for. I’ll never forget it. So many men struggling w porn, with relationships outside their marriages. That thought was ingrained in my brain for for life.

I faced this situation the other day with a woman who I thought was visiting the church. I struggled because she was right in front of me the whole service. But then I noticed it was a seasoned member. I think that's the toughest thing. When we know what we should do but we don't. I won't act like I can't fight this more in prayer. God knows I can do better, with my side of things, but it is a slippery slope to deal with when your going to a place you want to hear God's word and hear a message of transformation and salvation!!! But not condoning us men who look too much, we could look away!!! Both parties need to do their part!!!

This is so true. My sister and her husband pastor our church and I had to tell my sister to talk to women in church about wearing very tight tops. He is right. It is very distracting while trying to listen to the sermon.
I agree 100% but there is just one thing to remember. Some people coming may be new in their faith and need sanctification from the Holy Spirit or may actually not be Christian but looking for God. And it may take some time for them to get there. We have to avoid to judge, to love them, and let the Holy Spirit work in them.
But if it’s what is happening for any Christians at the church then we do need the pastor to stand up and tell the truth like this pastor did.

I’m not a wardrobe preacher. And I won’t tell people they gotta wear certain clothes to church (only dresses for women, and suits for men). But we (both men and women) should be dressing modestly, not showing everything we got. AND, it’s also the responsibility of all of us to keep our eyes in our own heads, and not on other things lol. You sometimes can’t help a glance if something out of nowhere catches your eye…But you can 100% stop the second glance from happening. If you are desiring women/men other than your spouse then that’s a heart problem. Jesus didn’t say “ if your eye causes you to sin, tell her to dress more modestly” He said if your eye causes you to sin, pluck out your own eye. You see, this is a heart issue and should be taken to our heavenly Father for help to overcome. With man, it is impossible, but with God all things are possible including getting rid of selfish desires. I pray that the Lord lead His people in all righteousness and in all His ways, amen.

Some 50 years ago I visited a congregation in which there was a young (and shapely) woman who had an extremely short dress. I was invited to have dinner with one of the elders--and when we got to his home, this young woman turned out to be his diaughter. She came in to set the table, and when he bent over...well, there's a child's rhyme for this. Afterward I wrestled with the urge to mention this to her father while he was driving me back to my hotel, telling him that as the young man I was at that time, I'm trying to keep pur thoughts, but his daughter's attire was making this difficult---but I was afraid I would simply get accused of lusting after her, so I didn't mention it. (FIve decades later it's STILL a temptation!)
I'm 69. I've been brought up in church circles all my life. I have never heard a Pastor challenge the congregation in such a way. Sadly, many leaders today need their egos massaged as well as their income. Consequently, they chose to sit in the fence rather than speak the truth.
I expect there'll be some women who'll walk after this challenge.
Let the women walk. It is the Jezebel spirit that angers them to become defensive instead of allowing the Holy SPirit to convict them.

I went to a church for a few years. I loved that church, still do. I learned the most there and my relationship with Christ grew. I went away for awhile and when I returned the church had basically been destroyed because the pastor had an affair. I found out with who and I was not surprised at all. I felt she had her hooks out, and tried to do this. What do they call that? Jezebel spirit? Some women just do that all of the time, maybe because they want to see if they can. It's a sickness of the spirit. Men beware, the adversary will try to bring you down. So instead of being flattered, be wary.
There is so such thing as a Jezebel spirit. It's not in the Bible. It was a gimmick made up by pre-plastic surgery Juanita Bynum to shame women. Yes, Jezeel led King Ahab to idol worship and even murder, but GOD split Isreal in two because King Solomon not only married foreign women (which GOD forbade), but he allowed them to lead him to worship false idols. 1 and 2 Kings.

Men also should wear modest attire - I am from India and when I step out of the plane here I see both men and women dressed in ways that can tempt others. Ask the women what sort of male attire would cause them to sin.

The LORD God said, (NIV) “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Man’s sexual history of abuse put woman in the position they are today! This pastor doesn’t teach GOD’s Love because he’s not listening to Jesus who said, (NIV) “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her,” which makes him the problem. GOD will deal with this one and whoever follows him because only GOD has the final judgment, the truth is men were never taught GOD Is LOVE not SEX!

Not sure blaming the women is the right way to teach men the strength they need to have to control themselves.
Do you not understand that temptation comes thru the mind and one of the main ways it gets in is thru the eyes? Did you not learn anything from Genesis? This is just the nature of temptations. It's how it works. And if women were filled with love and not the desire to look beautiful which is just a transliteration of attractive then they would do what they can to help their brothers.
And yes 100% the reason why men are having more problems then they should is because their minds are empty, not being in the word of God, not praying like they are supposed to, not fasting enough and of course their Body will take control of them. But women are also partly at fault for this. They both are. Not just one side.

Women of God need to be modest!
However, just as he is reminding the women of the scripture that says we should dress modestly, he should also remind the men of the scripture that says a man should not look on a woman to lust after her.
Some women do dress modest but men still look and lust.
Job made a covenant with his eyes not to look upon a maid.
Men today can do the same thing through the power of the Holy Spirit.
My dear brothers in Christ, I will do what I can as your sister to obey God's Word, but every woman will not so in the event they don't (you) obey God's Word.
Imagine how it would be if everytime a man of God saw a woman dressed inappropriately he ignored her...

Wow truth! Sadly, it is a man's weakness and not everyone is spiritually disciplined enough to control their minds and body. I struggle with it, we're designed to see visual beauty. Lord help us all!
