- The NERF Rival CHALLENGER MXXIV-1200 Motorized Blaster is the newest to grace the shelves in 2024 and one of the first new Flywheel Rival blasters in some time! Rival this time around has some new aesthetics and the Challenger has a couple of gimmicks built into a solid Rival Stryfe style blaster, even if that magazine does double as a melee option.

I have done a 40k hvz inquisition cosplay before. It's fun for about five minutes until you need to move at speeds above a power waddle
The fact Rival isn’t dead is still something that shocks me. I love Rival a ton but I never hear anything about it nowadays
Not a ton since the RIVAL+ ASTREA Grenade Launcher, compatible 2.5 inch RIVAL Grenades, and the Perses dual purpose mock suppressor out of the Dark Corps Armory, and maybe The little known Archery options, uh yeah.
I like Rival over long darts any day. But short darts are king!
@@NightFury-jd8ceare you just making words up? I need a link I think. I looked for Nerf Rival Astrea, Dark Corps Armory but all I found were Dark Knight Armory, Darkwood Armory, Dark Matter Armory. There is a book series called Dark Corps, sans Armory.
@@itsagundam79 The best stuff isn't really mainstream - RIVAL League was most exposed to this sort of sub-level stuff pre-pandemic, but you have to know where to look and who to ask amid the tangents of BSOs.

So you're not the one to ask then? I am genuinely curious about Nerf grenade launchers. Typically the best GLs I've seen are airsoft/gelsoft stuff repurposed.
That off camera side is flatter than Kansas. Should make it easier to glue two of them together, hint hint. I might just have to grab one.

haven't hasbro just been slowing down as a whole since they were sorta busy shuffling factory contracts away from china?
takes a while for the new contract factories to make the order to get these units stocked up enough for their more popular series to release for sale, especially when they probably couldn't move all of the existing molds out of china because they tend to get sold off on the chinese black markets over night and the factory owners evaporated into thin air with all the equipment and money like what happened with disney's toy factories lol.
but hey, maybe we'll be seeing blaster releases for their more popular series slowly pick up as they start getting stocked up from their non-china factories

New rival blasters, mean the rounds stay available for a little longer--my cats love them, and will be bummed when I can't get more.
I'd love to see more of a bolter conversion. The 40k cosplay community could see this as a cheaper alternative if it could be make symmetrical. I hope to see you mod this at some point!
I didn't get the FPS numbers you did, (possibly battery related) but mine was accurate as can be from around 50ft which was really surprising and fantastic!

The magazine even looks like a bolter's sickle mag, the 40k fans at Hasbro knew what they were doing.
The overall design of it gives me 90s Nickelodeon vibes, the weird yellow tube bits and funky shaped rail. Paint that purple, lime green and orange.
Such an awesome blaster. Can’t believe they didn’t make it compatible with the rechargeable rival battery like the Hera and Chaos. That’s a deal breaker for me. Looking forward to the mirage !

I just bought my model today and I personally love it. Also I created a barrel for it which is the file is available on Maker World, I’m also working on a bigger barrel for it which I will release in the future.

That blaster is pretty tall as is, but with the rival sight mounted on it, it looks like you could pretty much hipfire and aim down sight at the same time

The Nerf Challenger is a Surprise to be sure but a welcome one. Hopefully the magazine is sold separately, as it just needs to be. It makes no sense for the banana mag to be locked with the Boltgun, i mean Challenger. I'd carry a TON and defo Duel Wield this thing. HASBRO/NERF pls Sell the mag separately with some Accu-rounds and your good to go. It's in the same colour scheme as the Pathfinder, Vision and Fate right?
I Cant tell but the Challenger looks cool but all the rails and armour i'm not fond of, gonna have to recolour it. Always Happy for more RIVAL Blasters solid addition to the line.

As this uses 8AA(12 volts) a car battery(12 volts standard) should be a rather easy addition

This is the Third review I have seen on this blaster and what is crazy is the speed is so much different from one to the next. One was in the 70s fps one was is the 80 fps and yours is in the 90-100 fps which is where I thought it should be. Do you think batteries are a contributing factor or maybe that that much difference in chronographs?

Unrelated to this, but last summer i got a pre owned roughcut for about 4$, a really good deal but one of the catches that holds the spring back is worn down and doesn't work.

Yesterday in the Dark Corps Armory, my tinkering proved useful since a slight wiggle had the Perses Dual Purpose Mock Suppressor also fitting the barrel of the Challenger too- yesss! I may need to expedite selling them sooner if it helps on the range tonight also.

Got me one of these today for half off at a Target.
Right screw on the battery door was installed way too tight, ended up stripping the screw.
Had to get a friend to disassemble the whole thing just to put batteries in.

The fps is disappointing to me. With 8AA I wanted a stock rival shooting 115-120

Man I can’t unsee it now looking like a Rival Bolter. The square-like shape, stubby barrel and curved mag helps a lot.
I am THRILLED by a new, good, Rival weapon. The battery type means I can just use my rechargeable ones for household use, as well, and using the 7 round stick mags shouldn't be too bad. I love my dual Hera setup, but those C batteries are inconvenient.
After seeing your Zombiestrike review, it's gotten me curious on if you could do a Warhammer 40k LARP with the Zombiestrike line being repurposed into Ork weapons
Why does Hasbro always do this with their blaster designs? Why is one side of the blaster always different? Hasbro can't be this cheap.

Honestly quite like this blaster from what can be seen here - I'll probably be picking one up at some point. Though, my real question is this: does anyone else really just want to shave the entire top inch or so off of it? Like, the rail is so useless seeming anyways, you could make it so much more compact by removing everything jutting above the main horizontal body lines. Maybe keep the front blue outcrop for sight purposes, but yeah.

3d printed muzzle attachments would work on this right. I'm not sure how u can say that attachments won't work. It looks like it has the grooves for a muzzle to slide & twist on. Even without the locking nub, 3d attachments could friction fit. I don't believe all nerf dart blaster have the locking nub & still accept attachments
I just think it’s weird all the rival blasters ship with accustrike rounds but not the regular dart blasters

I saw it at my local Target over the weekend, my opinion has not changed. The Challenger is the unwanted love child of Elite 2.0 and Fortnite. Make it a flat top like the Stryfe, put a real attachment lug on the front, and an N-Strike stock point on the back and it would be worth the effort Hasbro. This one is still a hard pass for me.

I don't see a reason why you couldn't use the proton pack configuration with a (compared to a normal proton pack ball containter) small container to have a secondary with a very large ammo capacity to allow you to allow you to fire off a near unlimited number of rounds when needed
Not sure how practical this actually is, but I think it's a neat concept!
