Great Video! I can tell you put a lot of work and passion in this one! Also its really nice to hear an origin story. I'm in the same boat, rival is what got me in the hobby as well.
For me,my top blaster is the pilot. I live and die by it and its compact design. The pathfinder makes for a good primary and feels like a sturdy rifle. Vision is a good secondary (I like imagining it as an SMG) and my most recent (accuround) blaster is the challenger. It’s just fun to have what’s essentially a boltgun and it makes me feel like a real space marine! I left out the fate (because I already own a pilot),the forerunner (because I already own a takedown and LOVE it) and the mirage (because I would love to buy it,but NOBODY HAS IT IN STOCK,which is why I got a challenger today)
I got into the hobby about a year now. I saw the Walmart perses deal watched a few reviews and decided to buy it. Rest is history. Perses is still my favorite blaster.
I have the AccuRival Forerunner and it’s my favorite in the series … simple, reliable and x12 ammo capacity. Actually I liked it so much, I bought a second one.
I agree with the #1. The Mirage feels amazing. It's super accurate, it's fairly powerful, and it's ergonomic. I'm a lefty so I have no problem with the mag release and I found a way around the breech loading errors, so I'd say the Mirage is one of the best springers in Nerf history. (Also includes Retaliator, Apollo, Raider/Rampage, Roughcut, and Alpha Trooper.)
@@darknessstorm333 just try pushing the balls a bit more towards the barrel. obviously don't put it in the barrel but keep away from by where it chambers. the issue is some people aren't precise and they sometimes push the last ball too far back, which allows another one from the magazine to come up. if it doesn't work for you, someone else out there has an answer. it works 100% for me, that's all i know.
everything but the thumbhole. It really chafes my wrist/forearm. Haven't cut it off yet, but I'm going to, as well as smooth out where my trigger finger wraps around the grip.
For the Mirage, a couple of misconceptions... 1st, if you are trying to reload multiple rounds just eject the mag and load that way (the mag feed is beautiful)... use the top load for when you are about to eject your empty mag but still want one in the chamber (or if you feel you don't have time to reload a clip you can repeat single shot very easily). 2nd, the mag release... I don't know why everyone gets this so wrong but you aren't supposed to hit the release with your thumb, you hit it with your middle finger (try it and you'll love it much more). 3rd, the biggest downside for me was the grip being cut in two and wobbly as well and no indentions to keep your hand from sliding up and getting scraped by the plastic above the grip as you prime it (for that though get some gloves and love it more). 👍
A bit late but here is my list 1. Pilot: (great amazing compact blaster, really fun to reload, and one of the best blasters from Hasbro) 2. Fate: (great breach blaster, just a larger pilot imo) 3. Forerunner: (really fun shotgun blaster, very comfortable) 4. Vision: (Does what it's supposed to do, but I find the priming bar too thin) 5. Pathfinder: (great blaster tbh Everything is really solid about it, but it's not economical for me since rival magazines are expensive where I live and shipping fees suck. I can see why it's good but I just prefer blasters that don't use mags in general because of cost) 6. Mirage: (just a worse pathfinder imo, but it's still pretty solid) 7. Challenger: (I never owned one, but I generally avoid battery-operated blasters anyway cause of long term cost) Overall I would say none of these blasters are bad tbh, all of them I would say are at or above a 7/10 which is rare for modern Hasbro blaster releases. This line has been consistently good and I'm happy I stumbled across them on a quick mall run. These blasters also got me back into the hobby and made me a huge rival fan!
My top Accu-Rival blasters are the Forerunner and the Pathfinder. I have added a N-Strike stock mount along with HIR storage to my Forerunner and I would say it edges out my Pathfinder as my current go to Rival blaster. I still need to pick up the Mirage and I never got the Pilot as the grip is just too big for my smaller hands.
The Edge, Curveshot, and Accurival lines are all great. As well as the handful before edge that had the Knockout, Takedown, and Charger were all amazing
That was a fun video 👍🏻. I didn’t bother with the Vision after seeing reviews, skipped the Pathfinder due to the magazine issue and haven’t bought the Challenger yet. So my list would be 4th Forerunner as I dislike the ergonomics and texture of the pump grip. Fate in 3rd. Pilot in a close second, it’s at its best with shells or mods for other ammo types. In 1st would be the Mirage. I’ve added Paperskeleton3D Proximity muzzle to mine.
@@notnuffnerf no, the pilot...but I shouldn't have called it "prime return"...how about "recoil". When I pull the trigger my muzzle drops unless I am firing two-handed... I don't have this problem with the fate or even the knockout.
I'm a diehard vision fan, hands down. I don't really like dealing with mags, so a blaster with an internal magazine that just works, is powerful, compact, and accurate, is all i really need along with a dump pouch
I do not own the forerunner either . Although I can get 1 , but I refuse to coz I already have the takedown and kinda prefer the sawed off shotgun style even more . I don't really like the shape of the forerunner . It's a bit weird (?) like it's a bulky shotgun with pistol grip . After watching this vid , I think I might give it a chance and grab one if I can find any discounts for it .
I don't know, gel blasters are much more fun, for many reasons during the game because these are toys first and foremost, just fun with people you care about.
NNN Awesome ranking video. I think I like the places you have all the blasters. I think I enjoy playing with the Pathfinder more no reason in particular just seems to be the one I go to when Rival only rounds come up. Keep up the great work.
Maybe it only works with my hands, but I just reload the mirage by hitting the mag release with my middle finger (of the hand holding the blaster). Just gotta turn the blaster a little to the right in my palm and it works fine. Not ideal, but more comfortable than hitting it with my offhand or breaking grip 🔫💥
1. Pilot (mod potential) 2. Forerunner(better Takedown) 3. Pathfinder (proper mag fed) 4. Mirage (top load mag fed) 5. Fate (can find them for $3-$4) 6. Challenger (over priced) 7. Vision (cheap feeling prime) My FPS reading are completely different from yours. The Pilot fires really hard and can fire short darts with an easy non-permanent mod.
Nerf, if you're reading this could you guys please make an AA-12 rival shotgun with a 16 round flat mag with the universal rival round mag tip and a 25-30 round universal drum mag?
I'm pretty young and I have absolutely no problem releasing the mag, I could just use my longer middle finger to press it and I don't even have to break grip
Btw I have a pretty cool hack with the breach loading on the mirage where I purposely shove a bullet back and stick one more or possibly even two more bullets in their and I have probably the most accurate rival shotgun that I can think od
I haven’t finished the video so I don’t know what you ranked the fate at. But mine broke after about a year of doing nothing, not primed or loaded, something broke inside it and now the mechanism that opens it won’t fire. Might have dropped it or something but I’m not that tall and likely only dropped it once so it deserves an instant F because it failed me.
My favorite is Nerf Fate, then the pilot and the Forerunner. Finally the pathfinder. The last 2 releases I've either got them, but they don't blow my mind either... I didn't buy the Vision because I really don't like its design and I don't want to spend money.
Wow bro, I was impressed that Nerf Mirage was number 1, but it has very good numbers... I hope to be able to get one soon... I'd love an ultra ranking, although I think I'm the only one xD
Great video! Just started getting into Accu-rival recently. There’s not a lot of inventory where I live, but excited to get the Forerunner at Toys R Us since it’s on sale. Gonna have to wait longer for the Mirage and Challenger :(
I only have two of the new offerings so my list is far from based off of experience. I never bothered becuase the pilot is unobtanium in the 'wonderful' land of OZ so 1.Mirage 2.pathfinder 3.pilot 4.vision 5.challenger 6.forerunner 7.fate (I own the mirage and vision for reference)
Lol look at you w the collabs. Very nice video. Good job Mando and Doc. Id go w forerunner first(im a big shotgun guy to the point idc if im at a disadvantage w it. It justs feels alot cooler blasting somebody w the plastic equivalent of a sawed off) mirage, and pathfinder.
i dont get mirages shape... like it has this big frame from the handle all the way to the back like it wants it to be a stock but its too short for it to be so and even if you could, it gets in the way of priming. its handle is placed in this weird midway spot where its not on the back on the blaster so you can hold it well with your other hand, but not forward enough to shoulder it comflrtably, in the end, making it feel to me like its just a worse helios.
