Thank you mate ,I try to show the area’s of most concern, like footpegs and crash protection but also what it’s like to use and fitment,I’ve had issues with other bikes in past and like it to be clean and tidy and easy to use.
@@JimmyHutchison I’m wondering if that clearance between the exhaust and the Hurricane panniers continues not to be an issue…or did you end up needing to get an exhaust heat guard?
Great vid, photography great, just what I was looking for because I burnt a hole in my pannier bag yesterday. Bags look great but not the look I'm looking for but giving me some Idea's to what I really want. TY and Blessings
Thanks mate much appreciated,The bags are 28l Nelson rigg se-4050 from bikebiz,The shad bars are from mortardinn ,shad side bag holder HOCX56SE,hope that helps mate👍 How’s your beast going?
Thanks mate, yeah bike is going well, I haven’t really rideen in a few weeks after my mega ride at the end of last month, which was awesome! hoping to get out this weekend for a little burn through the countryside… ✌️
Nice I watched the videos ,bike did awesome and it does take it out of you lol Hoping to go for a ride and camp next week. What did the other riders think of the bike ? And did you think it was good enough for the rides you are doing?
Couldn’t fault the bike in the slightest, absolutely gave it hell, the other guys on the rides were pretty surprised how well it went, so nimble, I was really happy how it just did everything with ease.. th-cam.com/video/Cicq8yjBCvE/w-d-xo.html that’s another video from the tour.. ✌️✌️
@@hondaexplorer that’s awesome to hear mate,I did see a 500x on adv Australia do some gnarly stuff, and yes I find it quite nimble and easy to ride. What was the ride in the video a oraganised tour?looks fun
That's impressive. The bags have turned out well. I've been looking at some way to have bags on my 2021 500X which has the Shad top box and rack fitted but the alternatives I've seen so far wouldn't allow me to keep the top box as it is. You may have solved the issue for me. What were the problems you had fitting the Nelson Rigg bags to the Shad racks and do you now think the racks will be sturdy enough when the bags are loaded?
Hey @Jeff Arnold, the problems I had was I was trying to mount the bags to low and not far enough to the rear,it took a bit of head scratching but in the end it was very easy and straight forward,As for how sturdy they are,I don’t see them being a issue as once there strapped they become stronger as it locks them together, weight will still need testing but I’m hoping to be as light as I can be and spread the load. If you need any more details just msg me mate, happy to answer questions.
Hi Jimmy how are the shad racks holding up with the weight of the bags after seeing your video I am thinking of getting some of those bags myself already have the shad racks like you have used.
Hi David, No problems with the racks at all, I am not sure how much weight i am putting in the bags at the moment but with what I’m carrying absolutely fine, I have taken them on some more overnight camps and 500klm days and no faults at all. The bags are nice bit of kit too 👍

Really good looking set up Jimmy, looking forward to your trip!
Thank you terry,I’m looking forward to putting some miles on the bike
Funny listening to the Aussie twang merging with your real accent. I’m from Barnsley and living in Maitland and I think mine is similar.
Haha my English mates think it’s hilarious, aussies still think I’m talking to quick 😂
I travel Maitland once a week keep a eye out for me 👍

Looks good! How far is your trip going to be. Does the SRC bash plate provide protection for the oil filter.
Yes it does, Didn’t get to do Tasmania just yet soon 🔑🤝

@@LePapou16 thank you mate ,I did see them bags they look good,I haven’t seen a cb500x with them on yet.
Let me know how they go.
Nous venons aujourd’hui de faire 600km sous un très forte pluie, je peux vous dire qu’ils sont vraiment étanches !!🌧☔️
@@LePapou16 that is great to know as no body likes wet gear, how did your bike perform? what tyre's are you using?
glee some Fire Blanket under the saddle bag , would do the trick
Really nice and tidy set up. Did you notice much difference riding compared with no bags?
Thank you mate,It’s minimal but you do notice them, but still very stable and comfortable.
You know the underneath your side bags you could glue some heat sheld
Honda really should of had the exhaust direct away from the panniers, going to make a heat shield like you recommended,
How easy was it to fit the engine bars and skid plate under the front of the bike?
I had help but the instructions were easy to understand. If you take your time and plan it out it is quite easy,if you need any more help please ask👍

@@JimmyHutchison hi Jimmy yeah I was sure the shad racks would hold with no cross brace.
The way the bags are supported on the bike there isn’t to much movement.
Hi Jimmy how much did your crash bar's cost you are they from china or else where.
Hey mate ,got them from srcadventuremoto,in Australia $625.00 ,I got a deal when purchasing all of my gear from them ,great products good guys👍
