    Been a chef for almost 16 years now.. I’ve worked hard in my field, and am now a private yacht chef.. All my life, I thought I wanted a restaurant or food truck, but recently I had an epiphany that a coffee shop/comedy house would be a perfect business for me. My true passions. I’m thinking of doing some pop-up dinners/lunches as well so I can incorporate my craft that I’ve honed. I’m gonna’ start putting all of my energy into this. I’m a young guy from the UK, recently I’ve just gotten my first job in business admin, but I’m thinking about starting a small business later down the line. I’m looking into the coffee industry because I’ve always thought that if I ever started a business, I’d want it to be a people oriented business. So my coffee shop would be somewhere people could come to relax, get a great cup of coffee and a light snack and just chill in a calm, inviting atmosphere.

    I'm trying to think of what to do and where to approach this whole thing from a college point stance. I'm currently half way through my Sophomore year in Highschool, and I'm thinking about working towards running my own Café and selling drinks outside of coffee itself. I'm really interested in this, and I've found that I have a lot of passion towards it, so I figured why not do a little bit of research and see what I'm getting myself into. Thank you for this series, I'm going to be binging it and taking some mental notes. ^^

    in Indonesia, to be precise in Java, there are a lot of robusta and arabica coffees which have extraordinary quality. but roasting processing is lacking, but there is one identical with coffee in Java. can't beat the existence of this coffee. Even America and the Netherlands have recognized the enjoyment of coffee in Java since the 90s. history here has been formed before programming and things leading to advanced technology.
    lacking human resources, but extraordinary natural wealth!

    • @HowtostartanllcOfficial
      @HowtostartanllcOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a good idea! Naturally, you would need to get permission from the call center. The coffee stand could be a mobile one, a cart perhaps.
      If you have more specific questions, please let us know!

    • @amandasunshine2
      @amandasunshine2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HowtostartanllcOfficial I suppose my question is, how do you start up a business, specifically a coffee shop, inside a preexisting business that's not already set up for renting space to other businesses (i.e. a mall)?
      I've started a cosmetology business renting a room in a salon, but that was already set up to have a renter. I've emailed the appropriate person at the call center, my roommate pitched the idea to him and he seemed intrigued and asked me to email him my pitch, so hopefully we can figure it out, I was just wondering if you or anyone else had any experience setting up a business in a non traditional location. I would not be doing a mobile food cart, it would be a more permanent set up. It wouldn't make sense in this case to have a mobile cart. Also, I'm kinda basing the whole idea on a coffee shop in the break room of the call center both he and I worked at in a different state

    • @HowtostartanllcOfficial
      @HowtostartanllcOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally speaking, there is no law prohibiting you from registering more than one business entity in the same address. If your business will be similar to the coffee shop in the call center where you once worked, then perhaps by chatting with that call center management or the person who runs the coffee shop you may get more information.
      It is also not extraordinary to have a coffee shop in the break room of a call center, although it may be unusual. But being unusual could be the advantage that makes your venture a success.
      After the NYC subway opened, the Gimbel Brothers pitched the operators the unusual idea of opening a department store in the subway, realizing, no doubt, they would have a captive audience. The operators agreed and Gimbels, at one time the largest department store chain in the world, opened their Subway Store in 1910.

    I'm helping a community activist start a coffee business that will become a coffee house for the community. I have a relative that works for a coffee factory and I'm able to get large amounts of coffee free. I have a buddy with an Incubator who needs me to teach art to their clients. It will be a work for space and time lease transaction. $150/day which I will split with her to make it $75 each way. I sell ebikes and escooters for disabled children and veterans. She will sell packaged coffee and fresh coffee with t-shirts that she sells to raise money for her community outreach for children.

    How much does a coffee shop earn?

    • @HowtostartanllcOfficial
      @HowtostartanllcOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A coffee shop's net profits are directly tied to how many cups of coffee and pastries a shop sells. A shop that is in a higher-traffic area and sells more coffee will usually have higher profits than one with little traffic.

    Hola somos productoras mujeres de café de Colombia. Podria ayudarnos a las productoras con un video para que podamos entregar directamente café a coffee shops. Nuestro café es de alra calidad superior a 84 punros. Nuestro café se produce bajo arboles cuidando las aguas y el.medio ambiente. Los grandes tostadores pagan muy poco y necesitamos empezar hacerlo directamente para que todos ganemos en la cadena del café.

      I'm pretty sure they meant in comparison to other business ventures. Coffee is only getting more expensive to maintain. If your aim is specialty coffee with properly trained baristas that is.. If it's not then your main income would probably be beer n shit. Like how hard is it to tap a beer or open a bottle for some idiot.. Coffee is not like that..

    • @HowtostartanllcOfficial
      @HowtostartanllcOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Starting a coffee shop isn't the quickest way to make money off the bat. But making a coffee brand is a great business to start if you have a passion for coffee and an ideal stepping stone before opening your cafe. This will help you grow your knowledge of the business and raise capital for maintaining your cafe if you choose to open one.
      Check out Mamaleelu who is doing just this:

      Thanks for sharing.
      As all these owners attest, this is a tough business - the margins are hard, there's a lot of competition, and while a lot of coffee shops start up (it's a lot of people's dream, for good reason! it's romantic! and 3rd spaces are important for society), a LOT of coffee shops also close down because they're not prepared for all the risks.
      Of the 5 coffee shops featured in this video from 2019, 2 remain. They were the two largest shops.
      We believe that if you're committed and prepared, you're much more likely to succeed. And that's our goal - to help people start successful businesses.
