One of my biggest dreams have been opening my own coffee shop. I can say that one of my hobbies is visiting different coffee shops and I love the uniqueness of every single one. I am from El Salvador living in the US, and I feel like coffee in that region is reallly good and would love to show everyone about my country’s treasure. Also I would love to create a safe environment for people to feel welcome all the time either by themselves or in a group. Lastly, I love collecting antique items and would love everyone that have similar taste to enjoy that with me in the shop.

This is super-helpful. Thank you. I'm in the process of writing my business plan for a coffee cafe and had to take a break for two days. There are areas in my current plan watching this made me realize I don't need. I'm overthinking it. So once again, thank you for taking the time to put this video together. I will implement this process when creating my finishing my B.P.

This definitely helped me boost my ideas for my small business (Cocktail bar).
I had a vague idea of the steps but this helps solidify dot points. I am reading many business books as I don't have a background in business however I do have others whom do, and will be able to give me clarity and help support it.
This gives me a little confidence due to the fact many larger businesses in my local precinct (brewers) are all teaming up to make a cocktail bar that's going to be large competition.
I hope I can start up and get this ball rolling.

For me, I'll be retiring soon, okay in 4 to 6 years 😑. But where I live we don't have a cafe outside of Starbucks. And Starbucks really is basic. Mine is *not* going to be basic. I just have to make sure it stands out and hopefully sticks around for more than a minute. 😉

My Noni (grandma) had her own coffee shop in LA in the 80s & 90s, including one of the first side walk drive thru coffee stands! Her style was eclectic, comfy and retro. I live in a small town in central CA and want to look into opening my own and continuing with the original name. I want to recreate her style and vibe and create a place for locals to come and “chillax” . There is not much to do in our town for teens/ya unless you have a license and drive to SLO. I want to do this for myself, my Noni and my community! Thank you for your informative videos! Bless 🤍✨

I want to open a coffeehouse and worship location where can enjoy coffee baked goods and live worship. I would love an environment that welcomes the Holy Spirit to dwell and touch lives each day! Fellowshipping and non alcoholic drink is the goal to solve the problem of not having anywhere to gather if you do not drink and if you’re a Christian.

What are your thoughts on Coffee Kiosk in office building? Kiosk concept that serves "Coffee & Go". Operation hours are fixed, rental is lower compared to malls or external locations. Minimal drinks menu focusing on the target segment flavors only instead of having a long list of menu. I feel that it is easier for me to tweak the menu if its minimal and focused.

I NEED this but for an Animal Shelter. We founder a shelter in Jan of 2020, we got our 501(c)(3) in march. We are foster based right now (no shelter building) but I need to draw up building plans (either new build or reno), as well ad "add-on" businesses to generate income for this shelter. Some ideas were, pet supply store (we started this one), grooming services, boarding/kenneling, veterinary services. We have been reliant on grants and fundraising campaigns to cover animal medical needs thus far and to help offset the cost of feeding the animals to our foster network. We did start the supply shop in town, umbrellaed under the 501(c)(3). Its 100% volunteer based (for now) and the idea is to take that revenue and split it between growing/maintaining the supply shop and funding a shelter building.
BUT with out a solid business plan, its been shoestring budgets and on the fly decisions. I think a business plan would help to get our local officials off their butts and helping since animal control is supposed to be their job to begin with.

It's interesting how many times you refer to people coming to study/work/hang out at coffee shops... that is one of the biggest plagues of cafes, and a large reason so many fail. Those people will spend hours, sometimes a full work day, at your shop while consuming ONE drink. Maybe 2 if you're lucky. So the place looks full, but you are making zero money, no one is buying. They just "like to be there".

I'm 67 and I would like to open a bakery/coffee shop someday that serves fresh baked pastries and coffee drinks to go with them. I am a discriminate home cook and I want the customers to feel like they came to an upscale place that makes homemade wholesome food. How does that sound guys? 😊 Donut shops and supermarkets must buy dough from suppliers, and you can tell by the taste. No fresh fruit, real cream cheese ect. Poor quality in my opinion. My first good recipe has been basic cinnamon crumb coffee cake and the options like adding chocolate chips and washing it down with black coffee or coffee with milk. Croissants with apricot jam and a latte is also popular. Both excellent pairings! You are doing a service to the community so the kitchen can be used to bake fresh bread ect. Because of my family inheritance I can afford to build it from the ground up myself. I would appreciate anyone's comments about how you think this would work out. Thanks
    Ron

Reason behind me wanting to open a coffee shop is I love coffee and I want people to have a good cup of coffee at a reasonable price.
Along with that the number of coffee drinkers in the city is day by day increasing along with the number of coffee shops. And I think the ROI is pretty good considering the Capital Investment isn’t too big. The setup is small, therefore it is manageable. The city is in the initial years of coffee shops boom. So I think the timing too is pretty right.

I have been trying to find a video that breaks down how to apply to all the permits and licenses? I have my idea and I know I want to be a mobile/vendor coffee shop. I want to keep it very simple, I just don't know where to start. I read that I need a business license but when I go online, there are so many options. I live in LA, I am trying to understand the taxing in CA. Any help at all? Could you break it down? Examples like mobile coffee shops compared to have an actual set up shop. I have read about LLC's but don't know why I should do that? Any help anyone would be great. Just an resources. Thank you. :)

Hey Crystal I recommend speaking (like sitting down with someone so you can get all your questions answered on the fly) with your local small business association & health department as they will be able to help you with the list of permits & licenses you need. Every state and country is different (quite different here in Canada) so those two places are what I tell people to go to. I know it is confusing at first, but after you sit down with them (and probably an accountant), everything will be clear :) best of luck!

Hi Wilson. I am dying to make coffee affordable to Kenyans. Coffee is a great drink but out of reach to many Kenyans. Mind you, we grow a lot of specialty Arabica coffee in Kenya. Unfortunately, USD3.00 is very expensive to most people. I am looking forward to opening the coffee shop but trying to figure out how to make it affordable.

Location, location, location…. Our shop is in a 100 year old home less than a block from the main drag (the most foot traffic) in historic downtown Glendale AZ. It’s super dense in residential homes as well as businesses. There is a college a few miles away…How am I best market after??
