Hiya Bjorn. I can't believe it, you stopped in the tunnel at the pretty lights (to wake you up) and set up your camera on a tripod. That is dedication! Your wife does not seem so enthusiastic about charging logistics as you are. I guess it is a man thing.
Hi, i have really enjoyed all your videos. I drive a ev in Canada in the cold as well and can really relate to some of your driving conditions. thanks again.
I've watched quiet a few of your video too, for some of the road shots did u have to place down your camera at the location, drive by it, pick up the camera then keep driving?
Hi Bjorn! Excellent videos once again! Nice to see your wife Has joined you. You're a very cool guy mate! Just out of curiosity, can you tell us a little more about your background? Were you born in Thailand? What/where did you study? What made you shift to Norway? How come you decided to share your travel experiences with the world?
Thank you for the feedback :) I was born in Thailand and came to Norway in 1983 when I was four years old. I studied computer engineering in Gjøvik. When I was waiting for my own Tesla, I wanted to watch road trip videos to cut down the waiting time. But unfortunately there wasn't many out there.
Great video again Bjorn (Hi Ammery!) I didn't understand the convoy part though. Why did you have to wait an hour and a half on the side of the road? Oh and the rotating TV in the hotel was pretty cool and lol @ recharging the Tesla with the elliptical trainer.
Bjørn Nyland It's amazing how the average energy consumption went down in the convoy. It seems that slow driving really pays off in an EV, much more so than in an ICE car. And may I say you are a very lovely couple. Ha det bra
Hello Bjorn, Nice Trip. The way you made it so incredible. The music you selected for all video is so cool. Please let me know all music's name. Thank you!
Hi, you may not consider my ev a true ev I drive a Chevy Volt and very rarely do I use any gasoline. I've driven 23000kms in 11 and a half months with 21500 ev. I plug in at work and home everyday and really love the car. I just can't see me ever going back to a gasoline vehicle. :-)
Bjørn Hello, Can you please help me in a decision? I want to buy a Tesla Model S but I am not sure whether to go for a P85 or a P85+. I personally want to the P85+ but I heard people saying that the ride is firmer with the P85+, Is it true? And I would also like to ask you from where did buy the thing that is covering the panoramic sunroof inside? Thanks :)
Yes, the ride in P85+ is firmer. If you prefer the best grip, you should go for P85+. But for me, P85 is still very good. I bought the panorama roof insulation from Biltema.
Okay Thanks. Another question if you don't mind? Every how many KM do you take your Tesla to service and what do you they exactly do in the service and how much does it cost? Thank you very much. I am a big fan of your videos.
MrLocalman123 I have been to the service center a couple of times so far to get some things fixed (on warranty). And at the same time they performed service on the car. It was totally free of course because it was warranty fix. The service itself cost about 3500 NOK per year.
Hello Björn, I discovered last week your videos and looked at all your videos within this week. I enjoy it and even though they are so long they are never boring. In this video, I had to smile. Do you really sad "schmutzig"? (For all: This is the german word for dirty.) I'm German so I laught over this and the other video where you sad "schmutzig" and "Schweinshaxe" was also very amusing. Can you speak German, or why?
Hello, I'm glad that you found my videos and enjoyed them :) Yes, I said schmutzig which meant dirty. I never learned German in school, only French. But still I know some basic words in German. After all, I've been road tripping through Germany since 2008. It's still my favorite country in Europe.
In order for Tesla to offer free charging for life to the customers, those super charger stations must be fully powered by photovoltaic panels? But there's not enough sunlight there in the winter, is there?
I assume that they would have the chargers off-line temporarily before they charge for use. If they run out of solar energy they wouldn't have energy available to charge people anyways..
In Norway, the electricity for superchargers comes from hydroelectric powerplants. There is not enough sunlight for solar panels to be useful (not for SCs at least).
Bjørn Nyland i see- what is the cost of residential electricity per kilowatt? ... what do commercial charging stations such as ChargePoint or Blink Network typically charge their customers?... in other words, what would it cost you to "fill up" your Tesla Model S 85 if theree's no Tesla super chargers around and you are left with no choice but to pay for a charge?
TheWiseOldChinaman Electricity cost about 10 cent/kWh in Norway. Commercial 22 kW charging stations charge about $10 per hour. But many 22 kW chargers are still free to use. And the 3,7 kW chargers will most likely always be free because it's too expensive to charge money for them.

I've been a passenger in the Model S a couple times and your videos make me want one so bad!

Thank you :) We had to wait for the snow plow truck to arrive.

Ha det bra
ekhaat Yes, slow driving reduces energy consumption greatly. Especially in winter on snow/ice.
Hi, what has happened with video #7? Also, why have #6 and #3 been updated?
Sorry, the other videos were deleted, but will be uploaded again (without any changes).
Hello Bjorn,

What is the website that you mentioned to deliver goods for cash? I am just wondering if they have similar websites in Sweden as well.
nimber
Why do you have an additional GPS unit attached to the windscreen?
Because TomTom, Garmin and similar have a lot more functionality and is a better satnav than the on-board one.
11:18 - you talkin' to me?
