3D Printing Nerd I just saw a reddit post with somebody asking about weeping angels with Matt Smith. Comments were saying something about 3D printing nerd. I didn't know who it was, I come to TH-cam and this video is in my recommendations.
3D Printing Nerd seems it is still digging it :P I came from a makeup video to stumble on yours. lol really awesome lion, and yes, I looked at his butt. your fault, it covered the whole flipping screen. Next time someone say something about my stretch marks I'll just say it was some layering issues....
When he first started using the blow dryer I was thinking 'please don't mess up something that just took 100 hours to print' but then by the end of it I was like 'Dang, he made the Joe Keery of lions' lol
fluffy the thing about puns is that a lot of people ruin them by putting them in all caps and just stressing the pun an obnoxious amount. I notice that a lot of comedians specifically play down their jokes, they don't make a big deal out of it, and they just keep talking. Also, you can't make a pun for the sake of making a pun. I have never laughed at a youtube comment pun, only groaned. They also have to come naturally, and the sentence has to make sense. You wouldn't say "then again, this was the main event", so don't say that with a pun. The reason people think puns are bad is because the delivery is often just horrendous. You could have used the same pun and had it actually be funny, but you made basically all the mistakes.
fluffy there's a comment right below yours that said "3:00 he ain't lion". That was an example of a perfectly executed pun. He said it exactly like he would say "he ain't lying", he didn't try to add anything to it, and he said it because it came naturally. TLDR you suck and you need to go sit in the corner and rethink your life.
3D Printing Nerd I tried to print my own version of the harry lion on my da Vinci jr. and it didn't work, it would mean the world to me if I could have yours. I understand why if you can't, keep up the good content, and high-five
Impressive Hairy Lion - If you adapt the boundary wall by adding an inner "lip" you could make use of that sacrifical wall as a separate useful item - no need to treat it as "waste", you could print a matching INSERT BASE and turn it into a mini bin etc.
You should start from the back and in the bottom, that way you have more control over where the hairs go! You can also hide the mess-ups that are bound to happen under the outer layers, as opposed to when you start from the top and move downwards. A very nice video, I had no idea this was possible!
you're right, i thought to comment the same thing then i saw your comment, he should have put the lions nose looking up and heat up the hair from distance :DD
Blue, his house, with a blue little window, and a blue corvette, and everything is blue for him, and himself, and everybody around, cuz he aint got, nobody, to listen....
I got a decent UPS and says it will only last around 45 min I keep one on my 3d printers at all times but thats enough time to get the generator going to power the whole house anyways
there are printers that are able to pick up where they left off when the power died. Most of the time you only have a small blob of material somewhere(hopefully in the filler). Thats a lot better solution.
I'm definitely doing these now I've got my FLSUN QQS figured out. I think at this size it would be better to clamp the hairdryer to the table so you can bring the lion at whatever angle you need and let gravity help. As you said, you want to move the hair not just try to blow it into position, but having the heat blowing in the same direction you want to go won't hurt. The bit at the top of the face is what makes or breaks it. Tipping that part upside down and back a bit will make things much easier whatever the size.
I've heard that. All I need to do now is yell at fish and the transformation would be complete. Someone in a comment gave me the new nickname 3D Printiplier
Once I get my printer, this is something I’d like to try. One thing that I noticed is that the “hairs” would auto-form due to gravity, once you attained the correct temperature. Which leads me to thinking that you don’t need to touch the hairs at all. For the bottom half, just start at the very bottom and slowly move up, as the hairs start to drop. For the top, hold it upside down, and tilt it as the hairs fall into place. For the face, do the same in a circular manor. Very nice lion!
At 9:50, I beamed with joy, bc finally someone who isn’t a hairstylist understands 😊 Fridays and Saturdays are CRAZY at the salon with all of the blow drying. It gets super loud in there 😂
Lion turned out great!! Reminds me of Mufasa haha. Oh, and you really seem like the nerdy version of Markiplier😂I guess that's Mark if he would have followed his engineer career. Btw, just found your channel and I like it a lot. Keep up the great work! 👍🏼👍🏼
I find it very admirable that you actually take time to respond to comments. And you have a pretty decent number of subscribers too so that's even more admirable. Not many youtubers who have a lot of subscribers actually take time to read and respond to if not all, but the most part of the comments. Hats off to you sir. 👏🏻
Use some double sided tape sparingly or silicone self fusing tape (which is actually a pretty strong temporary tape) to hold the lion down to the table. It'll make the job easier and you'll look more like a professional stylist.
i’ve come back to this about 4 times now and i’ve never even thought of buying a 3d printer, but every time i watch this i consider dropping too much money on one
Loved the video. I would have started blow drying the lion at the back first. The only part that needed manipulation was the front/top portion. I'm now subbed
A recommendation for the hair. with that many layers, if you would have started from the bottom and worked up, the bottom would be positioned to where you would have wanted it, the rest could then be moved down around what you already had done
You could use gravity to your advantage next time. Point the nose to the ceiling and apply heat from above, gravity might naturally let the hairs fall back toward the ground. But it still looks awesome!
Make an articulated arm to hold the blow dryer. Alter the sacrificial wall ... just the top ring, then add supports. You'll cut the amount of filament used.
After thought seeing how hard the top was so as a tip you could hold lion upside down and use gravity to let the top mane fall as you heat from distance not sudden close up heat.
Oh my God, that giant print of that lion is amazing! Honestly, I didn't even knew this print existed at all, I really want to print that by myself too. Just amazing!
Looks like the TH-cam algorithm is digging your video man. This was actually a really solid video and you have a great voice
Wow, thanks for the heads up AND for the kind words!
True for the voice.

bahahahahhaha
3D Printing Nerd All I saw was a trash can, but ok.
Jk fam congrats on ending up in everyone's suggested.
Big cats like boxes too ya know :D
@@apoccooking4364 you are aware that that is a cylinder right?🤔
@@kendramyers6027 Yeah, so? You know cats, if they fit they sit lol
When he first started using the blow dryer I was thinking 'please don't mess up something that just took 100 hours to print' but then by the end of it I was like 'Dang, he made the Joe Keery of lions' lol
The fact that the hair ended up working blows my mind!
Mine as well. It turned out great consider I was the one styling it!
3D Printing Nerd well you nailed it! Nice job!
Would you say it BLOW DRIES your mind?
I'm not sorry.
yeah, im not gonna lie-on you
YEA CAUSE UR MIND IS HAAAAIRY!!!!!!!
That cylindrical mane is modern art. 🤣
Forget the hair dryer, two minutes under my laptops fan, and this kitty will be good to go.
Bahahahahahaha. If you put your laptop on your lap you would burn yourself, right?
iza miza
laptop fan? nah, you need the back of my phone while running literally any app
Lol
Keep the sacrificial wall, 3D print a titan, become a grim reminder to humanity
HOLY FRICK I just literally laughed out loud! ha!
3D Printing Nerd if you actually do it please for the love of Marco make please video!!
Origami Ninja lol
I don't get it
Please spoon feed me
Yes I know it will ruin the joke for me
I already don't get it
this is the best comment i have ever seen
"I'm not gonna lie to you" - you mean you aren't.... LION?
Then again, this was the MANE event.
+fluffy OH MY LANTA two in the same comment??? You win the day!

This video but it gets faster every time he says sacrificial wall
PLEASE do this? Pretty please?
Macy Hafner yes
Does anyone else see the irony of Joel trying to be a stylist lol .... Great video and use of the gMax! Turned out nicely.
YES! I was hoping someone would get it!
almost need to 3d print a blow dryer stand
GREAT IDEA!
That would be fun! Or just lay the dryer down so it blows off the side of a table :)

I wish I had a 3d printer. The things you can do with that. I'd like to make one of those lions.
Looks just like your hair!
Bahahaha thanks!

someone should create a 3D Printing Nerd model with stylable hair LOL! Is "stylable" a word?

Only 2%? :)

3D Printing Nerd yes you do!
3D Printing Nerd you dont have $7 dollars?
+alainna west I have a few quarters in my pocket does that help?
3D Printing Nerd haha same honestly
Impressive Hairy Lion - If you adapt the boundary wall by adding an inner "lip" you could make use of that sacrifical wall as a separate useful item - no need to treat it as "waste", you could print a matching INSERT BASE and turn it into a mini bin etc.
He’s like the white version of Markaplier
A very, very white Markiplier!
What?
Because why not Markplier is white too lol
That is honestly what I thought when I clicked on this video 😂

Joel- "I'm not the best stylist"

Lion cub: Mommy, where do babies come from?
Lion Mom: Ohhh honey, we are born from a tube
to all those lion stylists... good luck
may the odds be ever in their favor
3D Printing Nerd yea
infinity ac this guy just ended their careers
Blow drying would've been easier if you moved the lion around and let gravity flip the hair over the top of his head.
Gravity didn't seem to be working. The heat would curl the hairs faster than gravity could pull them down.
too much heat too fast .... back off with the blow dryer.
you're right, i thought to comment the same thing then i saw your comment, he should have put the lions nose looking up and heat up the hair from distance :DD
its a toliet brush

THANK YOU! I am SO going to pin this comment to the top! You're my favorite person today!
3D Printing Nerd what 3D printer do you like the most
+Daniel Plays Thank you!
But are you a lion stylist... ??? That is the real question ;)
Synforevera7x and now he has experience in parloring
could you brush the hair wile heating it
No because it’s plastic and would probably break
His hair or the lions hair?
3D printers print with plastic ; it would just break.
ThatOneGamerFox it wouldn't break if you were gentle and had some patience along with some skill. Maybe back up the blow drier too
or comb it?
99 Hours in and power dies, thats why i don't print big.
use ups
I got a decent UPS and says it will only last around 45 min I keep one on my 3d printers at all times
but thats enough time to get the generator going to power the whole house anyways
The printer uses 50 watts max so a UPS is the way to go.
there are printers that are able to pick up where they left off when the power died. Most of the time you only have a small blob of material somewhere(hopefully in the filler).
Thats a lot better solution.
Where do you live that the power goes down so often?
Here in Germany the last power failure we had was 6 years ago.
I am just curious.
Discount, non-Asian, older Markiplier 😂
+Blithe Dream Not discount - I was full price and purchased with a coupon 😎
3D Printing Nerd
No hate 😊 you're adorable. Send me the coupon link if you have it? 😂
Oh yeah he looks like Mark wow
He is like mark with jack's eyes
I literally thought it was mark for a split second, and then I was like, "his voice is WAYYYY deeper"

Ahhhahahaha
doubt you look like a blue plastic lion
Vigdís Jóna Árnadóttir same! 😂😂
Alex Janoher he's talking about how the hair looks like
Alex Janoher /r/whoooosh
Hmm. We thought every single hair would be much thicker. Did original design got altered?
Yes it did. Primoz made a special version of the model for me.
take a shot every time he says sacrificial wall
If I was the lion, I would NOT have him as a barber! LOL
sad to inform you ... but BigRep in Berlin has a bigger one :)
+3DPrinting4U WHAT????
Mortem true but he is not making any claims
so pics or ir never happened
Mortem, you must be fun at parties.
It#s not furry
actually "your"*
I think Mexico should pay for the sacrificial wall
Bahahaha. I nearly spit out my Red Bull. NEARLY.
3D Printing Nerd check out my robot on my channel sometime, Thingiverse link in description. You'll like it.
That looks SO COOL! Why the oversized gears in the front hinge of the arm?
3D Printing Nerd the gears are all purely functional. I just didn't put that module on to cover them up yet, lazyness..
Gear Down For What? Km. !>>. M m z
This was probably one of the fist 3D Printing video I saw and now finally is the time I'm abel to buy my very first own 3D Printer. I'm so happy rn
I made one of these (not that big of course..) but I did it with PLA and shaped it with hot water from the tap
Everyone keeps telling me hot water is the way to go, I'll have to do that next time.
Haha I think it looks better before parting the hair.
Hahahahha. It looked all spikey! I should print one like that and just keep it like that!
It looks like a glitched 3d model
He molded the lions hair like he does with his own
True!
This guy just looks like a nerdy Markiplier
On the other hand, the individual hairs are a good idea for 3D printing manes!
True, a VERY nerdy Markiplier :)
could you make a broom with this?
Yes!
"I woke up like this." said the lion.
Hahahaa
He reminds me of Markiplier
I've heard that. All I need to do now is yell at fish and the transformation would be complete. Someone in a comment gave me the new nickname 3D Printiplier
3D Printing Nerd 3d Pritiplier is a great name XD. I forgot to say that I love your videos, they are great. Keep going
TechTube THATS WHAT I THOUGHT. THE VOICE AND THE LOOK IS VERY SIMILAR
I actually think that the big lion turned out pretty well
I was thinking that
Once I get my printer, this is something I’d like to try.
Perhaps trimming the "fringe" hairs would make the 80's "quiff" easier to work with? Haha other than that, fantastic print!
Thank you!
Take a drink every time he says "Sacrificial wall"
That is a LOT of drinks!
At 9:50, I beamed with joy, bc finally someone who isn’t a hairstylist understands 😊
Fridays and Saturdays are CRAZY at the salon with all of the blow drying. It gets super loud in there 😂
You tell them the size, they make a bigger one, well that lasted 3 days...
:)
Lion turned out great!! Reminds me of Mufasa haha. Oh, and you really seem like the nerdy version of Markiplier😂I guess that's Mark if he would have followed his engineer career.
Btw, just found your channel and I like it a lot. Keep up the great work! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!!!
Also, blue version of Mufasa - we call it Bluefasa :)
I find it very admirable that you actually take time to respond to comments. And you have a pretty decent number of subscribers too so that's even more admirable. Not many youtubers who have a lot of subscribers actually take time to read and respond to if not all, but the most part of the comments.
Hats off to you sir. 👏🏻

רותם שלו טוב
Just one word!
Magnificent
actually four
Use some double sided tape sparingly or silicone self fusing tape (which is actually a pretty strong temporary tape) to hold the lion down to the table. It'll make the job easier and you'll look more like a professional stylist.
Bro. Put some conditioner in it’s hair. Makes it easier to comb 🤣
Hahahha
It’s not real hair
Shay Rubenstein wooOoOoOosh
this is the white version of markpilier
the older, whiter, taller(?) version of Markiplier. Someone commented that I should be called 3D Printiplier
Yes
Needed a pick comb to keep them straight and separated.
This must have been a cat-astrophe for the suppliers.
Yes
i’ve come back to this about 4 times now and i’ve never even thought of buying a 3d printer, but every time i watch this i consider dropping too much money on one
can somebody please count how many times he says sacrificial wall in this video
+DuckSmiles I think I say it enough to make it a drinking game
Did you 3D print your hair?
No, but I totally should!
It's settled, Joel will 3D print the most realistically possible wig. First in the world!
3D Printing Nerd print a Markiplier wig and cosplay!
Loved the video. I would have started blow drying the lion at the back first. The only part that needed manipulation was the front/top portion. I'm now subbed
grunge-y markiplier
i saw this on reddit and i had to check out your channel. this is so awesome :D
Thank you!
There's a 3D printing sub?
A recommendation for the hair. with that many layers, if you would have started from the bottom and worked up, the bottom would be positioned to where you would have wanted it, the rest could then be moved down around what you already had done
Ha! He said he's "not lion"! ✋
Everyone’s talking crap but let’s be real it looks pretty awesome
Once you got the hang of the “hair curling” it was overly satisfying to watch the hairs just fall down into place slowly and in sync.☺️
drinking game, take a shot every time he says 'sacrificial wall'. whoever lives, wins!!!
hahaha #drunk
when the 4D printer comes out your gonna have to create a second channel or give up
3xG Videos what's the 4th dimension?
Space Time
duckrutt space time includes 3d space and time.
You could make a broom, bristles included, to clean up the mess. Or just use the lion pre-blow dryer.
I'm guessing this is Sia's new look.
OMG - brilliant!
...Just a roaring mess of hair....
So true!
Yeah, and the lion's hair is pretty messy, too!

Watched again, and it still brings a smile to my face - finally going to print my own.

man stick it to the table with double sided tape next time will makes things much easier...
DOUBLE SIDED TAPE! Holy cow, brilliant. I did not think of that!
The struggle was real with it sliding around on the table
You could use gravity to your advantage next time. Point the nose to the ceiling and apply heat from above, gravity might naturally let the hairs fall back toward the ground. But it still looks awesome!
This made me hungry for noodles

Make an articulated arm to hold the blow dryer.
Alter the sacrificial wall ... just the top ring, then add supports. You'll cut the amount of filament used.
you and the lion have similar haircuts ^^
True, but the lion has WAY more hair than I do :)
3D Printing Nerd I highly doubt that honestly, maybe weight wise but strand for strand you win.
When you said wife I instantly checked your hand to see your ring. I feel guilty I’m sorry
+Spicytuna hahaha. All good mate.
This was super satisfying to watch. You did a great job styling that huge lion and it was a really fun video to watch 😊
for a moment I thought he was markiplier
For a moment, I did as well. Just checked, I'm not. Also, you're a sandwich spread.
