New generation of guitarists are emerging now. Era is changing into something creative and unique style. This will be the base for upcoming generation to improve. Manuel Fernandes, ichika nito,tim Henson etc are game changers now.
In general the prog scene is a new generation, consider tosim abasi, a really good compositor, bit guitarrists like Tim is a trap boy, and he has been able to play on it, jason richardson grat composition, and technique he is a gamechanger, is not a simple shredder like the heavy metal guitar, nope, he is a shredder with great composition skills
you have highlighted a very important and good point about new styles emerging! as a music education major who has learned all about music by famous artists, a lot of their styles or works were considered "revolutionary" or "wierd". Debussy, a pianist, invoked what we know as the impressionist movement with highly chromatic and atypical harmonies that broke the typical molds of how you wrote a progressions (among other things). Its always interesting to see this concept working back through history, and see where it is being cultivated now! Manuel is perhaps one of many guitarists spearheading new and innovative sounds and techniques that will only add to the list of amazing guitar repertoire.
That little rolling triplet pick/strum he does so effortlessly is what I always am so impressed by. It adds such a percussive Element to his songs on top of the electronic and unique elements what’s not to love!

The video itself is likely sped up to accentuate the music or whatever. The technique where they record performance of the song being played back slow, then speed up the footage to match the standard speed of the song. See Primus's video for Wynona's Big Brown Beaver for a good example of what I'm talking about.
I agree. Because I myself have sped up my music but you can tell I did. His hand might look glitchy but that's because he is doing it so fast. I recommend people go look at the videos of people playing the "Bumblebee" I believe it's called. They look like robot hands how fast they move

He’s legit, I have an account with pickupmusic and I saw his masterclass doing these sort of blitz and then slowing his playing and then speeding up again and with just his amp mic’ed up, no effects except a compressor and reverb. I think he’s just a gifted and well practiced kid, give him a break. If you’re proficient yourself, you should already realize just listening to this playing that the way he gets those enhanced harmonics and articulations because he is obviously using an octaver of some sort in conjunction with a compressor, right? Let’s not bash the kid bro, I for once didn’t believe it at first, but yeah gotta hand it to him to discover his own way of playing and tone.

Most guitarists aren't shady and are honest with their guitar performances. Well I am a guitarist myself. 10 years plus of practice can get you that kind of speed. Try to use compressor and no reverb. You will know what I am talking about. Compressor is like a cheat.
