Abandoned taken from "Artificial Void" (2019) Performed by Manuel Gardner Fernandes Limited "Abandoned" Shirts out now: unprocessed.band/product/aban...
I keep hearing alot of things about this guy in general. Speeding up videos and not actually playing or something. I'm not sure one way or another. I know I really like this style. It would be ashame if this was faked in anyway. And if not. It sucks he is getting so much bad press. Because I believe he can probably play his ass off. Idk just my opinion.
I don't believe it is faked I believe he is pantomiming over the track. This guitar track is heavily edited and processed. This isn't him playing it live on the spot. At least I dont believe so. Again I'm not saying he can't play or that its faked I'm just saying this isn't him playing live.
@@InfamouslyCantankerous He's legit. I used to think Manuel was fake but I gave Clown a try after buying his tabs (less than $5 for the tabs) and naw man, it's achievable. The guy is legit. Plus there's videos of his band playing live - so yeah. Side note, Charles Caswell - I'm sure he's legit in the studio, but I wonder if Berried Alive would ever play live.
Everyone be talking about the main riff and the chorus but damn the verse part is sick. The funky muting and accents are soo satisfying, especially with that godly bassline below.
It sounds just heavenly, such creative and multi-faceted music, I could listen to it without an end. The main reason Unprocessed is in my top 3 fav bands of all times.
The best guitar stuff i've listened in years.. Never seen that right hand mixed with so many technics and good taste and feeling beside the besr clean tone from a ibanez!
francisco rossini You record the audio in a DAW and sync it up with the video. No, that doesn’t mean it’s sped up. Try it out on your next guitar cover.
this piece is so wonderfully composed, lots of times there is just an overhaul of everything in porgy metal generally, but this is just a gorgeous blend of musicality and technique. Manuel you rock man 🤘
@@youreaphagatron His technique is definitely different than the guthrie govan 32nd note strumming video. While Guthrie is strictly strumming, this guys uses alot of double (and sometimes tripple?) down strokes and non obvious picking patterns.
It is truth... he fabled abandoned instrumental....Oh how I have yearned for this sacred moment... the progenitor has shone a glorious gift unto the land... May it resonate through the ages
While there is plenty of merit in learning a song exactly as the original is played, I personally think that there is greater value in using your ear and playing songs in a way that is comfortable to you. If you are playing the right notes and chord structures/voicing, but just in a different place, that's okay. It's important to develop your own habits, arrangement, and playing style if you intend to develop your own unique sound! You weren't playing it incorrectly; just different! :)
Damn... i've been watching the bass playthrough hundred times this week, and you release a guitar playthrough... I'm pretty sure it's a plan to prevent me from having social life
I feel honored to have seen your show in Columbus became an instant fan, as good as he is here live is even better plus he can pull these pieces off while singing and singing well its mindblowing
I went to their show yesterday in pdx, first metal show alone and it was awesome. Super cool dudes, I had to I learn to this song after seeing it live!
@@WildWildWeasel I actually use a Maxgrip Dunlop jazz III. I can play the intro riff but just not with that style of string scratching. When I do it it's more like... Just normal strumming... actually not even... it's just... Like picking but with much bigger motions... It's weird in a different way and my pattern is off... It's so confusing. I'll have to keep slowing the video down to get it into my muscle memory. But I'll definitely be looking into trying to learn his technique over my current one as it just looks so cool and looks like he's in alot of control of his strumming. Mine is just all over, same overall sound to an extent but much more messy I'm also playing on a classical acoustic with 12 - 56 bronze strings tuned to drop D so I'm not playing in standard tuning. I can't tune to standard because the tention is already so high. It kind of makes it easier to play in Drop D anyways but since my strings have so much tention and thickness, the slides are building major calluses on my fingertips from the friction as I do so... which is actually a good thing haha even though it's kind of painful. I already have good calluses as is... But now I'm just building it up even more.
@@AndrewChettri it didn't look sped up to me tbh his head movements look pretty natural and sync up with the rhythm. I mean there isn't a clock behind him but it's not ridiculous to think he did this in real time
@@AndrewChettri I mean honestly the opening riff isn't that hard, I can play it, the only confusing things are those muted strums, they have a tricky rhythm, but once you get that, you're good. Prototype is a different story lol
@@xXJuanDaSilvaXx Hi, I couldn't figure out how to send a message on your channel, but I just wanted to let you know that I finally posted a cover of this song!
People can do multiple things on guitar. Like him, he chooses to beatbox on a guitar.
Reminds me of flamenco technique
He probably grew up havin to be his own drummer lol.
Thats what makes me a big fan of guys like Manuel and Tomo Fujita, their "beatbox" type of rhythm technique while playing.

The bass in this tune.
Mint.
Especially with the 8 string coupling it in many parts. Very chonky.

now if only we could hear it live too cuz we're obviously only hearing the track and not his playing

every time i hear this song performed there’s a different amount of chugs in the main riff. ITS NEVER THE SAME

think of it like jazz sheet music, everything on the page is rlly just a recommendation
Makes music breath better
Is that good, Or bad?
he's part of the reason why i have callouses on my entire right hand
This guy is incredibly talented. Been listening to this song on repeat
This was a damn treat. That dead note game is insane.
This dude has talent. Such a funky song too. I love it.

He is such a beast and should get way more fame than he has. Such a great band with everyone being a true professional at their craft
I actually enjoy more this version than the one with lyrics. Great video.
In love with the Chiqichiqichiqichiqi 🖤

Same! one of the best concerts I´ve been to tbh. And they were opening for polyphia. So that says a lot about how good they are.

I don’t know how many times I heard this song it’s amazing
This might to be too much to ask, but can we have a tutorial, the percussive parts are godly
Check my channel. I did a tutorial ob the intro :) Just search for Riff ABC - Abandoned :)
There are some videos of Guthrie Govan explaining that kind of crazy percussive playing. It's insane.
@@youreaphagatron His technique is definitely different than the guthrie govan 32nd note strumming video. While Guthrie is strictly strumming, this guys uses alot of double (and sometimes tripple?) down strokes and non obvious picking patterns.
If you watch at 0.75 or 0.5 speed you can see everything clearly. Practice slowly and build up speed, then you can do it too!
Seems more like beat boxing than straight up percussive lol just with a guitar instead of you mouf
This is just mesmerising, so good.
I need an instrumental version of this album. So beautiful.
