OK, so let me explain why GOAT is higher level than ABC and The Audacity (w/ my terrible English) First, those levels don't show the difficulty of riffs itself but the one of techniques required in the riffs. In this point, I think that triplet > thumping > hammers. Tbh, the position of The Audacity is a play on words about 8string and level8. Btw I still think GOAT is harder than Audacity and ABC if you play in high quality. GOAT's triplet needs a synchronization of picking and fingering so this is harder to play in accurate timing. This issue will be happen even after you become very good at playing guitar. Difficulty of The Audacity is directly related to how you good at thumping. If you can do basics of thump, this intro riff has no crazy phrases. On the other hand, ABC has the abcdefgh lick. But most of the problems is probably hammers from nowhere (On the other word, all right hand has to do is a couple of hybrid and tapping, then single muted sweep) So if you focus to train your left hand and get strong hammers, it will be way better than you think. Of course, my tutorial must be helpful for you :) And sorry for my hardest riff #4 is wrong! It's not main riff but whole outro.
I love how the other songs have interesting technique names like sweep madness, but OD literally needs you to learn teleportation, and ego death needs you to teleport while doing everything else.
I can play Dream Theater and other prog metal song, as well as much classic rock. The solo is usually what attracts me to the song, so I learn those first. With that said, I'm at level 1 here! Watching this is totally humbling. I've stopped reading tabs the last several years since having children and have gotten quite good at figuring music out by ear and often by memory, even elaborate solos or video game parts that suddenly struck me (Megalovania anyone? My son started playing that song and became obsessed with it, so I just learned it in 2 minutes on the spot). Most Final Fantasy music, Pokemon, Doom (cause my oldest plays my old favorite from time to time), and Mario, etc. My point is I'm more comfortable learning by ear than by tab now, BUT I can't comprehend Polyphia without tabs. It's just too quick and atypical to pick it all out. To think I actually need the tabs! PS - I have no recording equipment and never made videos of myself aside using a webcam as a teenager for the crappiest guitar footage ever. I don't know when I'll ever release stuff like this (well not like THIS!) on TH-cam.
The arpeggios from Playing God still give me nightmares. Literally practicing them every single day at half speed and slowly bringing them up for months. Pain.
Learnt playing God and goat and played them whenever I was bored, after a long break for exams I forgot them... everyone gotta practice to maintain skills 😅
Just when you think you're good for being able to sweep through all major and minor arpeggios, Playing God reminds you there's modes and keys you haven't even thought to play. I realize at this point, I'm nowhere with guitar, but I thought I was somewhere 😅
Played for almost 2 years consistently and my first polyphia song was 40oz which i got upto 85% ish speed. That last 20% makes it feel so much more faster than it is
Learning to play tim hensons riffs is alot like learning to play the drums tbh. You have to get it on lock, make it muscle memory, if you think about it too much you end up messing up. Great playing brother.
Let’s all be very serious about Polyphia for a moment. No matter who you are or where you are from on this planet. You must agree however they are doing what they are doing, they are the future, they are far far far into the future if I’m Being honest. There’s maybe 5000 guitarists that can play Polyphia on the planet like KAWA can. I want you all to do 5000/9000000000. These guys are doing something that has absolutely never been done. And then you have to look at what it takes to write these songs at this speed. Writing these songs seems even rarer than playing them. Think about that for a moment. You literally have to be able to teleport to write these. Tim looks and plays the way he does Because he is possibly the furthest from an average person you can get on this planet. Whoever is driving the writing is on a completely different level than anyone now or to come for quite a while I would say.
I managed to get through a couple riffs on the violin…..if you look at some of videos you can see a distinct change in playing. I had to become better 😂😂😂
Tim did make a video with a title stating that O.D. is actually the hardest Polyphia song so it being almost at the top makes perfect sense when you consider that the song above it is Ego Death and that's not actually a song that they play live.
I learnt the Ego Death riff on my 6 string acoustic guitar and it wasn't actually that bad, maybe because I learnt it fingerstyle. I've never used a pick so imo the 40oz sweeps are a lot more intimidating to me. The Playing God arpeggios were so good though, I kind of like it more than the original riff. I might learn it as a warmup since I have nothing else besides Spider walks lol.
40 oz sweep was rough lol, you were playing it on a super clean tone though so understandable. part of what makes that riff sound so great is the reverb and the harmonies you get from the notes slightly ringing out. playing it on the clean tone even played perfectly isnt going to sound as good
I think 13 should be higher. While I get your argument, you were able to kinda nail the lvl 14 but not 13. I respect your opinion either way. Great playing!

Yeah G.O.A.T. Is definitely the hardest! It took me many hours to master it.

I personally thought 13 is the hardest to perform perfectly.
@@isaiahryman3470 agreed. Definitely the most chaotic.
i was sitting here thinking "no way thats only level 2" and then i remembered the video was about polyphia
LOL 😂😂
I mean its a fairly simple lead line utilizing some bends, nothing challenging persay.
it is extremely easy but trying to make it sound good is the hard part
It would be easy for a late intermediate or even a mid intermediate guitarist and for beginners, well it’s safe to say everything is hard for them lol
It is if you put it in the context of that was from their "debut"
Nearly a decade ago, holy crap
I love how the other songs have interesting technique names like sweep madness, but OD literally needs you to learn teleportation, and ego death needs you to teleport while doing everything else.
You need to teleport with Steve Vai to play Ego Death
It's called ego death because your ego dies whenever you try to play it
*your ego dies at the glimpse of the tab 😅
Fr. 💀
What? Champagne riff is easy lol (it's a good beginner riff if you want to learn Polyphia)
@ExodiumPlays bruv what does that have to do with anything
@@percival5697 I accidentally commented under the wrong comment 😅
that ego death was amazing wow
Ego Death just requires you to figure out how to ascend from the 3rd dimension and into the 5th
under lvl 1 gang here
I think I could play lvl 1 if I tried but I’m lazy
Yessir
That's fine, guitar is supposed to be fun, the only person you should compare to yourself *is* yourself.
Im here 😂
7:30 Naaah not the whistle flex 💀 I feel violated 😭 😭 😭
He needs to be stopped 😭
Even those chords were hard enough to not only memorize all of them but to figure them out. They are very strange and unique.

How is this guy such a chad? He records his guitar in DI tone and proceeds to play the cleanest cover ever.Absolute mad lad
Hand Teleportation got me LOL
What a great name for a technique 😅
The arpeggios from Playing God still give me nightmares.
Literally practicing them every single day at half speed and slowly bringing them up for months. Pain.
Don't worry they gotta practice the songs they make too
Learnt playing God and goat and played them whenever I was bored, after a long break for exams I forgot them... everyone gotta practice to maintain skills 😅

Crosty is a good easy song of theirs to learn. Not as complicated as some of their stuff and feels great to play. It's mostly just sliding octaves
It should have been playing god, it's quite simple to start on, it took my 6 months to play it as a beginner.
@@ethanko6684yeah it was my first song, still haven’t learned the arpeggio portion, but it helped me get a quick start after struggling so much
the "Hands Teleportation" got me HAHAHAHA and also the whistle at the end HAHAHAHA I always whistle that too HAHAHAHA
That was a wholesome video man passed by like seconds. Good job organizing and presenting this stuff for us
My mans casually played through the entire discography. Cool collection of guitars too man. Hoping to see more vids from you 🎉
Dude these are so damn clean! That’s hours of drilling that shit to get it that perfect! Good stuff man!
killed! i love tim's champagne part
3:31 i really love this Goose part
first time seeing pink frh played by someone! great video btw :D
That Charvel you used is dope! One of my favorite guitars, especially for Polyphia songs!
Amazing tone on OD, it's insane
Definitely Ego Death showcases EVERYTHING Polyphia is lmao. Nice job performing one hell of a demonstration of all that Polyphia is.
Your guitar collection is very juicy ❤
loved the background music at the end lol
2:40 bros fretboard is wider than my future 💀

they are doing god's work in the guitarist world today
Can we get 15 levels of Animals as Leaders?
Level 1 is already too hard
Hold on, bro, I got u soon
It's all lvl 15
well done on the goat riff dawg
Amazing video would love more breakdowns of specific techniques used by bands / musicians laid out with examples like this. Very high quality video
This is such great inspiration for what to learn next
The scottie solo on ego death is just so amazing, and you played it very well
Fantastic playing, great job!
Much respect for being able to play all that
being at level 9 from the beginning makes me feel much better about myself but also makes me realise i have a lot of way to go
bro got a guitar for EVERY MOOD
Damn that was so sick dude thank you for this video. Inspiring! Polishing Goose level 10 gang 🤘
I feel like the crush solo needs more attention, wasn’t only done flawlessly but the tone was literally perfect
Bro ur so clean i swear u kill 99% of germs on ur guitar just by playing on it😭
this is so accurate, ego death is on another level. 17 years since the first time I touch guitar, at lv 13 now 😢
Youre the 🐐
legend doing these levels
Level 14 Hands teleportation is the most accurate name for that song I've seen so far👍😵💫

Very surprised at drown harmonics riff being so high. It’s literally the only polyphia riff I learned in less than 15 minutes

That some decication my friend, respect
casually played most of the Ego death song at the end. Cool
the guitar was ok, but that whistle cover at the end was legendary
Someone else said it, but Tim Henson is your favorite band’s favorite guitarist.
Is that the Rick Graham sig Charvel? Man, I want one so bad. Can't wait to be back in the market.
lv 15 is off the hook good especially on the Vai solo!
so proud to be able to do only the level 1
DAMN THAT ABASI LOOKS NICE
This video is underratedddd
6:19 he flipped us off 😂💀💀
I can confirm O.D is tough asf but putting level 14 doesn't feel fair at all, 40oz, the audacity, playing god or neurotica are way harder
one day i will be strong as you. I promisse
Currently been learning Hand Teleportation of O.D. Sticking to around 85/90bpm for now.
The fact abc was only lvl 6 makes feel like a noob again
wow you're really good at guitar
Talented!
Boy... That escalted quickly.
I need Polyphia to drop guitar only versions of their albums
I'm 4 months in guitar and here I am playing a bit of goat
I was just sitting here amdiring the guitar playing but had a stroke seeing that cable management
Ego Death is insane bro
So we just declared Ego Death to be Polyphia's hardest song? lol
I'd LOVE to download those QC presets you made if possible
i think O.D. is easier to play than the ending of playing god tbh
Great vid! Wish you included the time signature too
You know is a Polyphia video when lvl 2 is already hard
40 oz sweep was rough lol, you were playing it on a super clean tone though so understandable. part of what makes that riff sound so great is the reverb and the harmonies you get from the notes slightly ringing out. playing it on the clean tone even played perfectly isnt going to sound as good
Thanks ichika Nito for making the final level "everything" on all the level videos
Amazing!
how do i max out at level 5 but can somehow play the goose riff as well
excellent job
Holy shit...........
You should do a feature with them for real, for real.
In my opinion GOAT is easier than ABC, I can only play short thrills when playing fast and cannot keep up the consistent speed like in ABC
Icronic on lvl 7 is scary for the rest of the video
Never realized how hard the playing god arpeggios actually are
AMAZING!
I might be level 0.005 on this scale!
I think 13 should be higher. While I get your argument, you were able to kinda nail the lvl 14 but not 13. I respect your opinion either way. Great playing!
Hi guys, I'm just 11 and have learnt playing the GOAT riff at 110% speed. Love polyphia!
