As a fisherman I use the 301 to drive my hydros and when the stop running it's always fuel n sumtimes loss of spark so I have 3 of those sittn in my yard.....I gotta soup one up n make a buggy or bike or sumthn.....
Just wanted to ask you, being you did a similar upgrade to what I’m planning to do on my 420, do you know how much rpm you can get out of it after these upgrades? Everyone is telling me 50# springs are going to ruin my cam lol 🤷🏼♂️. Thanks for your time and for the video!
What Jets did you have and what would you say is a good valve lash setting for the 301 hemi?? I have the same engine but can’t get her to start I have a free flowing exhaust wide open and have a 28mm pwk carb it just pops flames out the exhaust
Governor removal will Give you more rpm=more speed. Valve spring upgrade prevents valve float. Better carburetor=better performance. it’s a start of a small build, next will be billet parts and cam

Just picked one up I’m gonna do the same to mine thank such a simple and great video

Nice work bud what size carb is being used and what brand is best recommended
It’s a 28mm flat slide carburetor, posted the link in the description if interested 😊
I did awhile back and it was so much easier then the 212
Im a little new to engines, why do you upgrade the valve spring? And is it necessary when doing a governor delete?
The value spring tool is smart
Made the job easier, without pulling the head
Both parts links are out of stock, any advice on what else to get for a carb? Would any 28mm carb work? I have a nibbi 28mm not in use
This is awesome!!
Thanks man, hopefully this helps someone or encourages 😊
Why don't you have to adjust the valves since it's a hemi?
I actually followed Red beards tutorial and even he didn’t adjust the valves. if it was a non hemi then yes it would need valve adjustment.
What's the top speed
can i add 50lb pound springs to my 301cc hemi without billete parts
That’s what I basically did
I heard remind governor from 301 makes everything start shaking a lot is that true
Haven’t had that issue, I have a video of my 301cc trike and it runs great. As long as you have all bolts tighten, you shouldn’t have that issue.
@@Mini.Moto.Guy806 is it faster than a 212.
How did you like the carb? Any big problems jetting it?
Love the carb and I actually didn’t touch the jets…tested my luck and it ran great on the trike
How long did this mod last without any billet parts ? Flywheel/connecting rod etc?
It’s still running good

I actually didn’t touch the jets or valve lash, the only thing I need to do is adjust the needle position.
@@Mini.Moto.Guy806 oh ok nice man well thank you for the quick response
How is the amazon valve springs holding up
They are holding up great 😁
What size tap did you use for the governor hole?
3/8”
After puting the 50lb pound springs does it changes the sound
No it just helps prevent valve float on higher rpm, sound is affected by cam and exhaust
Hey, how would you adjust the valves on a 301?
I actually didn’t touch them at all
6k
What is the benefit to all this?

Oh ok. I knew would be faster. Just wasn't sure if more power overall or more rpm

So far I don’t have a rpm gauge, I’ve gotten my 301cc trike up to 50 with no issues. But I let off when needed and baby it
Thanks I appreciate it!
