- This was quite a challenge for us... If you plan on installing this turbo kit yourself, be ready to struggle a bit. Install went relatively smooth but we gout caught up a few times because of fitment issues. Once we got everything sorted out we were very surprised by the outcome! We hope you enjoy this video and we hope it helps anyone out there trying to do it themselves.

My dad was into Fiats back in the 60's so I got stuck with the middle name of Abarth. Until the Abarth version of this Fiat came out I always had to explain to EVERYONE what the deal was with my middle name. Now I only have to explain it to 98% of all people. The other 2% are car guys.

aaahhh, the memories of being young and swapping turbos until the wee hours of the night- it's a pretty magical feeling. In those days it was Subaru's and Evo's, now I have an Abarth and need to keep my warranty in mind because that's what adults do I'm told. Thanks for posting the video, it was informative and fun to watch. I know it's been a while since you posted this but I hope you still have the car and maybe thinking of going wide body. Hope to see you out on the road in LA, just look for the dolphin gray Abarth with factory bronze rims.
First thing..... that lower radiator hose you do NOT have to remove the factory band clamp to drain the coolant lol pull the lock clip then simply wiggle the entire hose off lol.

Hey man great video, I have my shop installing my GT1752 now, we had all the same fitting issues you guys did. Thanks for resolutions, my shop can’t figure out why two discharge valves with the BOV forge kit euro compulsion suggests, can you guys point me to a tutorial or pdf of how to install the forge BOV with this turbo? Please?

coolant drain is on the bottom drivers side of the radiator. you'll see a small valve on the back that you turn 180 to drain it.

Bro the new wrap looks awesome!!! I wish I wasnt stationed in kansas and back in cali so I could have you wrap mine. The video is legit this is actually my next performance mod as I already have all the support mods and eurocompulsion tuner. I noticed recently though speedmotive has a new big turbo 1700s that retains all the stock components from the oem turbo, I debating on which move to make as I know have been doing the 1752 upgrade. Do you guys have any insight on the 1700s big turbo speedmotive also has to offer?
supposedly the speedmotive turbo can handle 275hp. If you want a direct fitment +1 turbo for the gt1446 and have an EC tuner already, check out the NGEN customs turbo by GPOP. They have dynos showing 240+ whp on Eurocompulsion tunes. Retains all the gt1446 lines and diverter valve. WOW IS VERY FAST THAT BIDET!
From start to finish, without hiccups how long it takes to finish the job? this is your best mod yet. Now you will need some serious suspension, tires, brake setup. Also you need to put a MIC on your car exhaust. Would be nice to hear all the pops and bangs coming out of it.

I would say it should take a full day. Damon had already been looking at a set of coils to slap on so that will probably be the next thing. We still have the Toyo R888R set from the first track day as well! We’ve also been looking at big brake kits for the increase in power. We will probably do a part two where we dive into the big changes. Thanks for the support!

You should get some guy with the laptop and programming what not to do a tune on your car for you. Definitely get some free horsepower out of that engine

Now I wish I bought stick Abarth rather than the automatic haha! I've been spoiled by driving automatic for so many years but living in the city, a stick can get tiring to throw gears from 1 to 2 to 1 to 2 to 3 to 1 to 2 you know the what am talking about haha! But I love my Abarth, I am getting it tuned to get a bit more horsepower. Even though its automatic, I drive it so well, I can make it pop whenever I want on the road so people think I am driving a stick hahaha! Pius, I beat other sports cars on the road. I drive like an angel out of heaven.

I wasn't ready for bright lime green fluid to spray out when removing the small line from the side of the radiator. Lol!
How’d you get the diverter valve unplugged and working fine, the stock plug where is it plugged?? I’m having an issue with mine

The stock one is in the same location as the diverter valve fitting on the new turbo. It’s got 3 allen bolts holding it in.

Personally I always purchase an English version of the Shop Manual for every car I own so there is no guessing when you want to say.... remove the front clip.....
OR, how to service the Turbo without taking apart the entire car.
