The ironic thing is that you'd probably learn all this stuff better by just playing the game...if you want to then take the game super seriously THEN you'd feel inclined to find the info out for yourself! ...Really this should be common sense but whatever! :/
Alienrun what? Common sense is to find everything yourself? So we should go back to the arcade era where everyone sucked and practically 80% of players Didnt know how to do special moves? People improve faster and get better Now because of information. Everyone learns differently.
Well I'm not saying you shouldn't look up info online like this...not at all. Its just that a beginner would understand the nuances with the game a lot quicker if they just picked it up and played it. (Let's ignore the fact that all of this info on this video in particular is bound to be well known if you taken any fighting game seriously before) I say this because I think its more natural that one would learn how to have fun with a fighting game before they dive into what's essentially jargon and what not...one should not restrict themselves on the basis of finding out what a game is based on a video...one should go out of thier way to figure to basics out as to give that person a *reason* and *motivation* to go further beyond! Then (and best then) would outside information be best applied to one's playstyle... In my case I would not have gotten into Smash had I not had the great priviledge of understanding its appeal. (ironically from a video) Now its almost as if I can't get enough of it! TL;DR This video in specific is generic tuturial stuff, it doesn't motivate one to learn or actually give the game a try. That I'd understand more...again when I said "you should play it first" I meant that in THAT MOST LITERAL WAY POSSIBLE! If this guide were more in-depth and comprehensive in the long run then I'd understand the OP's request...but as it stand...this is basic tutorial stuff that feels unnessesary to anyone who's played a fighting game seriously before AND probably just a tad too complicated for someone who's never played a fighting game in their life! I hope that makes sense now that I've explained myself more! :P
There is something like that in game. When you start there' a tutorial about the mechanics and on the trials there are "demonstrations" on general strategies and the characters.
Man this is some quality, even how it's framed. I love how the viewsonic logo is in frame but not focused so it's not in your face advertising while still always being present. I'm weird for noticing those things but it's such a clean video.
I was thinking about buying the game but was put off by the many negative reviews but this tutorial actually convinces me that it would be worth it to pick up and play SFV even amidst the bad reviews and the conception of FGC being really horrible to noobs like myself. It really simplifies some of the more technical concepts and makes it a little more understandable. Thanks. Great Vid.
NEVER let a game review get in your way of buying a game. I've always found that ratings and such are unreliable considering that there are lots of games i love that are 7 or 8 out of 10 and yet most games that i've gotten that are 10/10 like Bioshock Infinite i got bored of about 1/5th of the way through. When you think on getting a game you should consider what the game is like, what you do in the game, and how you go about doing those things. Consider what makes the game interesting. Also, in regards to the FGC part of the comment, the only thing i don't really like about the fighting game community is that some of the old school players are real defensive about tutorialization in fighting games and usually say things along the lines of "Don't help new players because they should learn the hard way because we had to."
Lol, I don't know how much you will learn from the beginner guide. Though, there are some interesting tidbits starting with the General Strategy section for the more advanced folk.
The neutral Laura teachings from the school of Mike Ross says, and I quote: "The key to beat Laura, when she gets too close... ... ... ... ...any questions?"
I mainly play competitive smash bros but I've always been interested in street fighter. I just never found the opportunity to view it in a beginner friendly manner, it was always at arcades where I'd put a few tokens in and mash buttons for a bit, but I didn't want to spend money to learn like that. This video is very helpful, the process of explaining the purpose of each button and the very basics helped me get a better picture of how footsies and spacing might be played out, something I understand from smash bros but not how it is employed in street fighter. I've been following this channel for years and always appreciated the quality put in each video and I'm glad I finally got around to viewing this
Awesome video! You know what they say, you can never polish your fundamentals/basics too much. Also I didn't know about autocorrect shoryuken and what to do when the opponent jumps over you as well as using V trigger to stop time so that was nice ^_^
Bought this game when it came out and never got into it. Recently bought an Arcade Stick and going to learn how to play this game. Thanks for the video. It’s just what I needed.
Coming from a ssbm propesctive, I find this to be very informative, and I now know I can play it at least to have fun, but bottom line seems to be too close to cheap away at your opponent for me. Love your channel, finally glad I understand classic fighters a bit more.
I have never understood why the pros keep saying "they made the game easier"; but I get it now a bit. Also, for a beginner guide, it offers a lot more than I expected. Thanks for this!
It's good to hear KOF has a place to call home in the world. It's also interesting to see a basic tutorial getting introduced at this stage of SFV's lifespan. Let's see if Capcom decides to implement any new gameplay mechanic in the future.
I don't even play Street Fighter V. But videos like these are super interesting to watch. Makes me wish I actually had an Xbox or PS4 so I could play it.
Pretty informative tutorial. MUCH better than the one in-game that only teaches you the buttons lol. I fell off SFV simply due to the fact that each match bored me. After watching this, I may pick it up again soon.
"Pressing down rapidly on the directional stick will executes a teabag attack that will fill the salt meter. Once full, your opponent will lose concentration."
This video is awesome! Makes me want to get SFV, but I'm already getting Injustice 2. Will this channel cover that game as well? A lot of the content applies to fighting games in general, but it seems street fighter-focused.
Which functions does Infiltration assign to the light blue buttons? I would also love a guide from Infiltration on how to clean up your inputs. He's always so clean and tidy with his combos and execution.

I had this alt+tabbed to listen to.
He has such good cadence it took me 10 minutes to remember that I only understand English.
Occasionally he says "Dragon Punch" or "Player 1" and I understand that much.
Infiltration doing more than Capcom for SFV
Is that true or u just being sarcastic ?
88 rainy 3 years ago that was probably not sarcastic, though if it were posted today it wouldn’t be so cut and dry lol
they should include guides like this in game from pros to help newbies understand the mechanics. thanks for the video

all you have to learn in fighting games is the movelist and the combo thats in the game.... how to play the game depends on the player
Infiltration with the diss. "In previous games, you had all sorts of techniques for timing...now you can just easily time it, or just mash it"
And, yet people still drop combos regularly in SF5 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Probably nerves for the most part lol. Especially if they play professionally.
Emezie Okorafor maybe if youre garbage
now more people can play sf
Top players often miss combos.
Man this is some quality, even how it's framed. I love how the viewsonic logo is in frame but not focused so it's not in your face advertising while still always being present. I'm weird for noticing those things but it's such a clean video.
Shilling with style. Not bad at all.
Core-A Gaming deserve more subs and views such a perfect quality in this videos is awesome man
Kima +1 to this. indeed one of the best channel (if not the best) for SF in youtube, even for competitive fighting games in general.
How when they upload twice per year
I was thinking about buying the game but was put off by the many negative reviews but this tutorial actually convinces me that it would be worth it to pick up and play SFV even amidst the bad reviews and the conception of FGC being really horrible to noobs like myself. people love shitting on things. The game is fun, tons of people are always online.
XeroValentine it makes you think you could actually be good at the game, which probably isn't true tbh
Skuzzy even on PC O_o
The game has PS4/PC crossplay. You will have no problem finding players on both platforms. At least in EU / US regions.
*Eating Popcorn*
Lol, I don't know how much you will learn from the beginner guide. Though, there are some interesting tidbits starting with the General Strategy section for the more advanced folk.
Core A Gaming, a TH-cam FGC channel that makes great original and informative content.
VesperArcade, the Eventhubs of youtube
VesperArcade
Lol. I need one of those fights ticks so I can mash buttons like that😍😍
Really bro
+Ka 7al If you think you can make better content than VesperArcade go ahead. Watch his videos about Kolin and reflect about what you just said.
Finally a straightforward explanation video of the basics of this game!
The true guide for SFV:
- PRESSURE
- MEATY
- NO FOOTSIES
- USE LAURA, BALROG, URIEN
- ???
- CAPCOM MONEY!
Pressure aka get your target combo blocked, jump in, repeat until they don't block something .
FOOT SWEEPS
JUMP ATTACKS
Such a genius !
Step 5 is mastering the neutral. Use Laura, she has the strongest neutral in the game ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The neutral Laura teachings from the school of Mike Ross says, and I quote:
"The key to beat Laura, when she gets too close...

...any questions?"
Thanks Core A for getting me into SFV, I started here watching your smash related videos but you've influenced me to pick this up, wish me good luck
This was immensely helpful. Thank you and Infiltration for taking the time to make this guide. :)
Thanks for this awesome series, Core-A Gaming!
I mainly play competitive smash bros but I've always been interested in street fighter. By the way,Core-A Gaming, recently your channel has been rising, keep up the work we love you!!
This is some of the sickest teaching videos i have ever seen thank you so much.
idk how you dont have 1 Million+ subs yet, but your channel is going to explode bro. Quality content as always
I showed this video to my cat and she is now a kung fu master and wears a blue dress with white boots.
You mean Chun Li?
joshua prouty What?
Kung Fu + Blue dress + White boots = CLEARLY means it's Alex. Cmon man Kappa
No, it's Oro

I checked this comment just to see if core replied lol

Love your channel, finally glad I understand classic fighters a bit more.
'When the stun gauge is full, you can mess up your opponent.'
I love the way he talks.
Thanks for putting this up, I've been looking for a guide like this and I really appreciate it :)
I'm a Smash player who's looking to get more deeply into fighting games. This is the series for me. Thanks so much for making this!
hey, 2 years later how did you find it. im considering making the transition from smash to more traditional fighting games.
What an amazing thing for two of the nicest guys in the FGC to give to us all.
I don't even play Street fighter. Why am I here then? You may ask, well I find this entertaining that's why.
Your attempt at grammar. +1
I have never understood why the pros keep saying "they made the game easier"; but I get it now a bit. Also, for a beginner guide, it offers a lot more than I expected. Thanks for this!
I can't wait to the Akuma Guide!
Love this game ,I always have good time with my friends in battle lounge and learn something new on the way.
Some really great concepts in this video for beginners. Very excited to see the advanced tutorial. I'm sending this to all my noob friends. :)
Core is becoming my Go - To for entertainment.
Hope he does an Intermediate and Advance videos. 😆

I don't speak a word of Korean yet I understand infiltration more than I understand some English speakers! He has an amazingly clear voice!
Infiltration, excellent, bravo.

I was looking for a comment like this. Big thanks kyle.
wow Gerald. youve gained a LOT of subs since last time I've watched your videos.
Smash 4 and Ultimate player here. Just watching because I really like watching SFV matches and want to know what's going on when I watch them.
This man can just keep talking about the game for days ^__^
I'm looking forward the guide for intermediate players. And I hope Infiltration wins again EVO in 2017.
>KOF is still popular in Korea
Man I wish I could visit there, King of Fighters is kindof dead in the west...
Not in latin america. I think only the US ignore KoF games
Are there still Kof tourneys in latin america, even for older ones like 98?
KOF97 still the most popular FG in China..
Yes, in Mexico KOF is the maing fighting game that everyone plays, personally i like SF more but that just me.
i like kof better, just wish kof got sf budget
Increndible and simple tips. thx infiltration, i admire you
Pretty informative tutorial. MUCH better than the one in-game that only teaches you the buttons lol. I fell off SFV simply due to the fact that each match bored me. After watching this, I may pick it up again soon.
Guide to beginners : Play to the great STREET FIGHTER 4 because he has an ARCADE MODE !!!
"Pressing down rapidly on the directional stick will executes a teabag attack that will fill the salt meter. Once full, your opponent will lose concentration."
Thanks for the video. Please next time you interview him, ask him what he thinks Juri needs to compete against the top tier characters.
10:57 "Maybe not even a week, maybe just 4-5 days."
Me: "I'm not Asian."
Instructor: "Maybe 1-2 weeks."
Me: Im Asian.
Instructor: 2 hours then
잠입님 감사합니다.
I'm a noob on SF and this video is helpful
Step 1. Be a hater
Step 2. ???
Step 3. Get left behind
This video is awesome! Makes me want to get SFV, but I'm already getting Injustice 2. Will this channel cover that game as well? A lot of the content applies to fighting games in general, but it seems street fighter-focused.
godlike video editing! good job :D
고맙습니다 Infiltration
My reaction time is better when I see a Core-A video and like it than when I'm playing.
This tutorial was super helpful!
I found this really helpful. Now it's time to get good!
I don't know why I enjoy fighting game guides so much.
I don't even play SFV.
Which functions does Infiltration assign to the light blue buttons?
I would also love a guide from Infiltration on how to clean up your inputs. He's always so clean and tidy with his combos and execution.
Hey you should do one of these for Melee. I've noticed your interest in the game. Maybe try to get Armada/Leffen/Mango to do it. This is a really cool video and I think Melee would benefit greatly from something as well produced as this.
If a sponsor is willing to help, sure. Would love to see a top player making a noob guide for Melee. I need some help in that game badly lol.
Really great video, thank you! :)
Infiltration teaches advanced fundamentals? That would be the dream
Its ya boy mintcheerios back with another tutorial...
Every fighting game should have something like this in it.
Let’s get Infiltration to do a KOF guide!
I can't be the only one who finds the guy pressing the buttons very satisfying
Something he didn't mention is that light attacks has lower range and harder attacks having longer range
6:04 his teabag skills are unmatched
LTG is going to learn so much from this.
Infiltration comes off as a really intelligent guy in this video
Thanks infiltration, now I know how to play 3 years after this video was released
hi i have a question i want to buy a ps4 and to start playing fighting games but i want to know if its worth it , im completly noob on fighting games the only one i played was tekken 5 and i loved it back then what you guys can say is ti worth it to play SFV or tekken7 or other ? or even is it worth it to buy a ps4 only to play FGCs ?
Thank you for this tutorial
High quality content
Hello Gerald! Maybe you can do something like this again for SF6? I think the game's in a pretty good place right now and hopefully they won't need to change the mechanics throughout the game's lifespan.
Awesome stuff. No planned upcoming Juri guide by him though? =^(
He hasn't dropped her, has he? Would have loved to see a high level Juri for Evo making it near the top, but it's probably just a far fetched fantasy at this point. I thought Floe actually had potential when he picked her up if he actually trained with her seriously, but he's both not really in that mindset and is maining Karin anyway (Karin is my second favorite so I can't really complain- I love her combos and fighting style a shit-ton). Aiaitomo's the main one I can count on to play her, unless they do some weird patch stuff to Juri to the point where even Aiai doesn't want to play her anymore, haha. Can't see that happening though.
Random but the mic quality on this is amazing. The mic is nowhere in sight so he must be a good distance from it yet the audio is still so loud and clear. What kind of microphone was used to record this? Thanks in advance!
Hey you should do a vid talking about for honor, It is a fighting game and I think a very unique one, as it incoproates 3d battles with variable ranges, and multiplayer fight sequences. Or you can talk about how scrubby it is, I'm fine with it either way.
Your videos and their structure really remind of Every Frame a Painting and i also noticed you're subscribed to him. Do you see him as an inspiration or is it just a coincidence?
KargoFart Yeah, for sure. Also, Vsauce, Game Theorists, and CGP Grey.
Core-A Gaming Nice, they're all pretty awesome
perfect... teaching basic sfv with subs plus phantera fightstick
Hopefully he does strategy videos for each character.
nice tutorial broo🖒🖒
Really weird question: why are there even 23 dislikes on this vid? Looks like a really decent beginner tutorial vid to me.
This video is a damn sight better than SFV's tutorial I'll tell you that much...
Waiting for Infiltration's Guide to Street Fighter V - intermediary
I appreciate what he's doing, helping beginners get in the game before it dies off. Honestly, he should just let it die, it's a lost cause, completely busted.
Great guide for SF beginners.
거리조절 is spacing btw
You're right, I translated that too literally lol.
i just hope his EX-wife is okay
infiltrations guide to pro gaming tl;dr: wake up, and be great. ive been doing it a while, and it works pretty well.
Great!!!
The Joystick sounds neat, what parts are in the fightstick?
스파의 정수가 녹아있다. 역시 잠입갓!
