Hello Brian, I had an issue recently with a Windows 10 system that would not boot. The system booted to automatic repair and stopped at a screen to enter the language. I could not select anything on this screen because the USB ports had been disabled when the auto repair started. I could not repair the system with a repair disc either and I ended up removing the HD and connecting it to another computer to backup the clients personal files. Then I ran chkdsk / r on the drive which found a ton of corrupted files and repaired them. I then ran eek on the drive which found no serious threats. I then reinstalled the HD and to my surprise, the system booted up normally and all was well again. The client had no ideal what could have corrupted the files. Hey, what are you saying at your intro. For the life of me I can not figure out what you are saying . Do enjoy your videos though. You and Carey Holzman are the only TH-cam computer videos I watch. Perfect, the command promt worked . After installing a new game . Bios loaded up , then blank screen with flashing cursor. Plugged hard drive into another pc , all files where there but system refused to load . After entering in the command prompts in the video it work like magic . THANKS A MILLION !!!!!
what do u mean pluged into a nother pc? then you put that plugged that hd back to teh original?. i wonder if i can clone to get my other pc to install windows

Problem at 4:57 "bootrec /fixboot", get the message Element not found. I feel this is critical to the repair process and must mean the file has been corrupted. Not sure what can be done in this situation, please help.
wow! did it all and ill have to definetly remember this.. BUT i have a gpt disk problem! i tried diskpart a few times but i keep getting the " windows cant be installed the selected disc is MBR! i changed to gpt using diskpart but still get this over and over when i go to install windows.. any ideas? or can i clone a ssd from my other pc and insert it into the pc i can get windows going on? thanks much! dee ski, titusville florida!

I can recommend using the Macrium Reflect recovery USB. I cloned a new M.2 NVMe from my old M.2 NVMe on my desktop and the new one wouldn't boot. I created a recovery USB on my laptop using Macrium Reflect and booted into it on the desktop. I saw the option for startup repair and decided it couldn't hurt, it took a second and I was then able to boot from the new drive.

I am having issue's on Both PC's both of them worked prior and it does not seem like hardware issue. Both system's run on Windows 10. I 7 7700k system boots gets a little past right into windows install and when i hit to install and start typing windows key it get's BSOD fallowing error code: irql_not_less_or_equal . I have swapped different GPU's, Ram, Re seated CPU and GPU and Ram. The Issue on the I 9-9900k paired with RTX 2080 which worked for first 2 days only after BSOD i restarted and since cant get anything passed right after Bios setting, i reseted everything to default as in 28c 3.6ghz on cpu V are low 0.969 ram V is stock 2133 duel ch 16 GB 1.200V the BSOD error code is : Whea_Uncorrectable_Error. I am watching multiple video's on how people create these guides to uninstall certain programs reinstall but i cant do any of that because i cant even Boot into my bloody system, the I 9 9900k i even bought new NVME Smasung 970 evo and i cant even install fresh windows it just go to BSOD. Both system worked, esp I 7 system worked for year and half with same ram i had 32GB 4 8 stick rams G Skillz Ripjaws 3000mhz both mother boards support it. MSI Z170 M7 Gaming motherboard for I 7, Bios updated so it supported new chip set, and I 9 MSI Z390 Meg Ace motherboard, both worked and fully had install i was even able to over clock I 9 to 5ghz and 3000mhz ram do Cinebench 2164 score played Fortnite, and Apex system/Stream no problem 2 days i was gonna sell my I7 system since i upgraded to the I 9. If anyone knows any help out there let me know in Reply i would truly appreciate it. Thanks!

This is what i have currently. No boot error/corrupt user acct. Sys restore and image recovery options dont work, nothing saved. Startup repair failed. The only option is cmd. Was thinking of getting a installation disk to see if can repair? Will take to repairs next week
If your drive isn't encrypted, it could be worth using an Ubuntu USB stick to boot into Ubuntu (a free Linux OS that boots from USB)... rescuing your files, and then attempting to re-install from scratch. Windows tends to get messy over time, so often worth a re-install if you can.
Hi Ran-D Beats, yes if the drive isn't encrypted, Ubuntu supports file systems like FAT and NTFS, so you should be able to see your files. Just bear in mind that you may not be able to open the files, if you've not installed an appropriate application (e.g. LibreOffice to open MS Office files). You should however be able to copy the files off the drive, so your data is safe.

mine wont booth from cd-rom period,, tried with win 10 cd but no system starts, i tried changing the booth order diffrent times but nothing,, this error came when i took out a SSD 120g and but in a 2T HDD in the same place, now i cant get my computer to get past the black screen with the same error code that showed in the beginning, i cant see whats changed since i formatted the 120 G disc and i boothed up my computer after i formatted, but after disconnecting it it says it cant detect the discs, they are showing in bios and i can switch the boot order as i like but no booth and no booth from dvd windows 10 either

Windows 10 is NOT Legacy? It is UFEI meaning you can't boot from cd/dvd? Did you reinstall this earlier with Legacy? Yes. This is not an authentic install.

My laptop restarts while booting windows. Even clean install windows is not possible upon reaching the installation part still reboots. I don't understand the issue as I've cleaned the heat sink and re applied thermal paste. So overheating is not the issue anymore .

Whenever I use the ‘bootrec /fixmbr’ command the system tells me, “The system cannot find the file specified.”

How long will this take to wait booting?

System Restore is turned of by default in Windows 10
Its not working.. whenever i press command bootrec /fixboot .. it says access is denied
My directory is different X:\windows\system 32. Also the command bootrec /fixboot gave me access denied.

Have you tried mashing the delete key on startup to enter the bios? Should be able to get into the bios this way before it even tries to boot windows

When i reinstalling my windows 10 from usb it cannot boot automatically and it goes to recovery mode but i cant go to bios because when i booting it up my hard disk is a bit noise. Please help me

well mine is different, when i attempt to install windows 10 from my usb to my ssd it will said "windows can't find boot.exe" and idk how to fix it and when i press f8 it will just show me the same blue screen and have to just restart my pc
When you say things like UEFI and rebuild the whole fuckin drive, all i hear is "you watched too much porn, now you need a new computer"
I made a bootable usb I try booting windows it does not work then I boot Linux and it works fine help?
