Bikepacking The Fool’s Loop - Day 4 (& back to car)

- Today we left Black Canyon City after a nice hearty breakfast at The Rock Springs Cafe. It was a tougher day then we anticipated especially since it was also our shortest scheduled. On paper it seemed pretty straight forward - 30 miles-ish & less than 3,000' of climbing, but the trail condiditions and climbing single track certainly slowed us down.
After a bit of a debacle trying to take a shortcut off the route on day 5 we finally made it to breakfast and then back to car for our drive home.

Great last day. That looked super gnarly in places but it also looked loads and I loved the backdrop of the cactus plants everywhere. Nice ride guys )
Yes, like many of the places we can ride the landscape was unique
ALWAYS 👉AWESOME VIDS 🚲👈👍👍👍👍👍
So Cal Joe, I mean this in a good way, but you guys are nuts😲
Or stupid.😂
I totally underestimated the route between Sheep's Bridge and Cordes when I did it. I didn't have all the running water you guys did and ran short. Luckily a guy in a truck gave me some on that big climb. I camped at the top, luckily (and very surprisingly), there was a running stream away from the road near my camp spot. I kept hearing running water while I was setting up camp and finally make the hike to look. I spent the next day in Cordes re-hydrating. BCT was also way more technical than I expected. I was on a steel rigid frame which made for some rough riding. Thanks for sparking some great memories of that trail!
@SometimesImAnAthlete Thanks for watching. I watched your series for research before we went and it was very helpful, so thank you for that. I think we even stayed in the same room as you at that crappy motel in BCC. If we had gotten an earlier start out of Sheep's Bridge i feel we would have made it to Cordes Junction that day. I can't image what it would be like on that trail w/o suspension of some type. Happy Trails!
Great video series! Very helpful! Thanks for all the effort that went into these!
Thank you for taking the time to watch and glad you find it helpful.
@@socaljoe I just wanted to let you know I completed this loop at the end of Feb this year and your videos were instrumental in making it a successful trip! I learned a lot from these videos, and as a result my trip went totally smoothly. Thanks again.
@@dirtandhappiness2023 I'm very glad to hear that. I try to be informative about these routes because when I'm doing research on a possible I watch videos to get as much info as I can. Thanks for watching
I really enjoy your videos! We have very similar thoughts and methods as we pursue this hobby of ours. Happy trails. Kenny in Arkansas.
Thanks Kenny! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
