  • Day 1 - Dave and I took the Metrolink Train from Burbank, CA to Santa Clarita, CA for an overnight bikepacking trip into the Angeles Forest. From there we rode to Castiac to start the climb along the old Ridge Route Road to Liebre Mtn Rd to camp for the night at Bear campground.
Day 2 - Still some tough climbs before the decent into Lake Hughes for lunch at the Rock Inn. From there it's down hill with one killer climb to Dry Gulch Rd to San Francisquito Rd, then back to the Paseos of Santa Clarita for our train home
Dave and I are big fans of leaving by bicycle from our front door's and can include public transportation. This solves a couple issues such as having to leave a car overnight or perhaps needing 2 cars for an open jaw trip. Plus the feeling of doing these trips without a car from our front door gives us a sense of satisfaction.

Agreed, yeah wouldn’t do that again but it got us a “little bit” closer to Santa Clarita for our train. Thanks for watching!

Terrific video including drone footage. Great narration as well. At 6:45 the road seems to be impassible, did you have to turn around or go way around to get by?

There was some secure footing on the hillside so we could walk around

That's a good question, obviously I don't know what I'm talking about but it looks like a retaining wall might be needed?
