I’m def gonna jump back into LotF after the ER dlc, the new content looks like so much fun and it seems like they may have addressed my biggest issue with the game, which was the boss difficulty. Especially after having just beaten Sekiro for the first time, a new playthrough using a parry focused build sounds like a blast.
I REALLY hope LotF gets the recognition it deserves. The devs did put the work in to resolve most of the issues it had on release and it's as close to dark souls 4 as we'll ever get.

Always remember, kids play these games and have the same voice we do. So the “hate train” can often be explained by teenagers in echo chambers or button slappers who can’t find meaning outside easy wins and shiny lootfests. It went from an 8/10 to a 10/10 with unique qualities other Soulslikes can only stare at drooling, but it’ll keep getting hate because some 9 year olds can’t figure out Multiplayer.
I'm currently playing Nine Sols, a 2D metroidvania with Hollow Knight + Sekiro influences. Highly recommended! I might try LotF again after the Elden Ring DLC. At the time I didn't really like version 1.0
Months ago, I commented on another Ziostorm video about Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen. I LOVED Lies of P, and considered getting Lords of the Fallen, but the comments section pushed strongly against LOTF. Any new comments from the audience since then??
The devs fixed most of the major issues with the game. The enemy density is very manageable now, performance is good, and the game now has many features that only exist from mods in other souls games. Solid 7/10 from a 5/10 at launch I’d say.
I really hope this game is a huge learning experience for CI and HexWorks. This game has a lot of love and uniqueness to it. The only real thing it’s missing is a definitive arena horde mode
It really needs to be stated that since this is a heavy-featured UE5 game, so 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs require some tweaking. It's not CIs fault at all, nor any other developer...but people still complain about the "game crashing" even though it's related to their motherboard manufacturer rather than the games themselves. LotF is a great game btw...I'm a massive fan. It looks stunning, and the gameplay is (and mostly always has been) awesome.
I played it when it first released on PS5 and absolutely love it. Did two playthroughs back to back. But I recently built my first PC and want to replay it on PC. Hopefully Steam will have it on sale soon.
I totally agree i played through this game 3 times & yet to finish the umbral ending but i will definitely jump back in massive credit to the devs for continuing to support the fans & the game if only every other dev team / company was this way inclined
I freakin’ love this game.. I love the 2-reality concept and it’s just really fun to play. I played for about an hour after the new update (only 1 hour because my soul has been consumed once again by FO4 😅) and it was wayyyyyy more fluid and responsive than it was in the beginning. Graphics look even better too. After I finish this play through for Fallout and give Shadow Of The Erdtree a large percentage of my life for a time I’m going to get back into this game!

I really liked this game at launch. The only issue that I really had was enemy density at the end of the game. I’ll probably jump back in and do a play through before Shadow of the Erdtree
I finally had the chance to play it the past couple days and its been so much fun! Been a challenge, but an absolute pleasure (i am running pre-upgraded loot just bc i like being able to just try everything i get). The systems are awesome fun, and I've been enjoying everything I've tried. A bit hesitant to do multiplayer bc of what I've heard, but I'll probably just queue up some invasions sometime and see how it feels
Definitely definitely worth playing. I had tons of fun playing this for a couple of weeks. Now it seems like it has a lot more replay value I’d still put it 2nd behind Lies of P as far as soul likes go..
I'm very interested to jump back in and see what they have done in terms of improving the boss weapons and weapon abilities. I was one of the fortunate individuals who had no technical issues at all when I played the game, and I absolutely loved it. However, I was very disappointed in the lack of moveset variety and special weapon abilities, especially with regard to the boss weapons. So I'm very interested to see what improvements they've made in that department.
Just got back into the game a few days ago and have been loving all the new changes! Yesterday I completed the crucibles of fire, faith, and blood. It was definitely exhilarating to get all that shrine currency! I never thought I’d see the day where I had enough pilfered coins to buy that entire armor set 😂😂
I wasn't personally a fan of LOTF and dropped it after the second "great rune" boss. I still followed all the updates the game got, and it was so cool to see. I think I might try a sequel to LOTF if they make one. I just think Umbral needs to go away (literally discourages exploration with infinitely spawning enemies), and they need to get better at enemy placements and density on launch cause that at least got updated later
This game was overshadowed by lies of P but im trying it out now as I write this, i literally took a break just to tell one of my friends this game is worth it. The devs were truly inspired the umbra mechanics are fun and challenging, I see this game as very polished. In Lies of P when you “edge walk” (walking animation during combat) the speed at which the puppet moves does not match the steps on the ground so its like he is moonwalking everywhere this is one of biggest pet peeves about lies of P this is such an eyesore. Lords of the Fallen does not make this mistake the character actually feels like he is in the ground walking and interacting with everything. Yeah its still complicated and bit confusing too many tutorials and weird names to remember but when you get the hang of it the game feels stylish and crisp. Which is what matters, the gameplay is good shame that this game was overshadowed a bit by Lies but I dare even say im liking lords more than lies right now.
Completely agree; the game is not perfect but still very fun. In particular I enjoyed the umbral lantern mechanics and swapping back & forth between worlds throughout the game, as well as the more straightforward stats for creating a build. There's definitely still some jank here and there, but massively improved over launch. Good on the devs for remaining dedicated to supporting their product.
I definitely have to commend them for going the extra mile to better the game rather than discard it. For me, it was an alright game; good enough to get all the endings and so on. I was prepared to be done with the game, but after all this work, I'll come back to it again at some point to play it again to support their good business practices.
Let’s go!!!!! I’m gonna jump back in today I’ve been hoping to hear this I’m happy for those guys they truly love the game they made and they took criticism from fans extremely well and worked hard to fix that’s stuff. We need more developers like those guys in the community!
I honestly liked Lords of the Fallen, and lived throughout the entire period of the weekly updates. I liked it less than Lies of P, but still, it is pretty cool. But anyways, what about Enotria: The Last Song's demo? You said you would have tried it at launch but you didn't. I would say that now is the best time to do it, since the demo's last update has been released, fixing all bugs/glitches and adding/modifying things thanks to the huge amount of feedback that people have already given on the game's discord. So please, try Enotria. You will be amazed. There is still a lot to adjust and fix, yeah, but the devs have still a bit of time to fix em I can't wait for you to try it! Hopefully you will
I absolutely adored this game. I love that you can play it souls, Bloodborne or sekiro style. Love the ranged weapon system. Love the dual-wield mechanics. Can't wait to see what they do next
Oh wow, i played on launch and loved it but didnt touch it again after my first playthrough. didnt even know there were updates. will have to give it another shot
I love lotf. Wither is such a cool concept. It scratched the dark dark fantasy itch that elden ring did not. SotE will probably scratch it. I didnt like how much butterfeet* was goin on when i played, but they could have fixed that too. I made 5 characters and got them all to end game or ng+. Very fun. *Butterfeet is when you swing and the soles of the feet start oozing butter to allow for sliding across surfaces.
Honestly, I would give this try, but you know... Shadow of the Erdtree is on the horizon and I need to focus on getting my character ready for the DLC. Congrats to the devs on turning this game around, but my main focus is the Elden Ring DLC at the moment personally. Although, I might jump in on Lords of the Fallen afterwards though.
Funny thing, i have it installed and steam updates it regularly. Bought it some time ago, knowing its pros and cons and what can i expect ( i kinda liked Mortal Shell from souls-like btw, so i am sure i would kinda like some parts of it at least ). Only question i have is, can i finish it in less than 20 days ? :D
Honestly the thing that bothered me the most about l.o.t.f. was quest layout and to be frank poorly thought out encounters. Example for poor quest layout being that if you cleanse the first marker in the swamp you are locked into the radiant ending full stop, or if you don’t cleanse a beacon after a certain point you are locked into the lord ending and there’s nothing to tell you in game that this will happen or that it hard locks you on a path. As for the poorly thought out encounters, the worst one that comes to mind is the lamp reaper, if you get good enough or even if you over lv yourself and kill him in one of his many encounters outside of the end area you are locked out of like three quests and I do believe an ending purely because you are too good or over leveled.
I was going to buy this but got lies of p instead because of the criticism you mentioned. Might be time to play this the next 12 days while waiting on SOTE.
I just finished dark souls remastered and wanted another souls like to play, I was about to buy this, but not for full price, I decided to get dark souls 2 instead, so far, I'm loving it

I'm gonna play it now. I am impressed honestly.
30 updates shows they care good job
Digital Foundry says it still has stutters mid-game in addition to typical UE Engine traversal stutters.
Let’s go!!!!! I’m gonna jump back in today I’ve been hoping to hear this I’m happy for those guys they truly love the game they made and they took criticism from fans extremely well and worked hard to fix that’s stuff. We need more developers like those guys in the community!
I loved this game even from launch, can't wait to see what they do next!!!
There is still a lot to adjust and fix, yeah, but the devs have still a bit of time to fix em
I can't wait for you to try it!
Hopefully you will
Been there done that, got all 3 endings. Unless they release some real DLC, new areas and boses, I probably won't be back.
I beat this at launch, loved it except for having to stress about going into umbral to get items etc
To describe how different the game feels to me;
Day 1: Absolutely terrible
Now: Genuinely enjoying every second
I can’t help but praise the devs
I've been playing since launch. Only issue I have is multiplayer still has lag issues.
I absolutely adored this game. I love that you can play it souls, Bloodborne or sekiro style. Love the ranged weapon system. Love the dual-wield mechanics. Can't wait to see what they do next
Happy to see how the game turned out
how can i check which version i have ??? i download it a month ago or so ...
It should update automatically, unless you turned that option off.
How do you feel about Lies of P?
Personally it was a bit of a let down for me after Elden Ring (my first soulslike)
Never played it, but Bosses design is sick 🔥 I will definitely play it
Honestly, I would give this try, but you know... Shadow of the Erdtree is on the horizon and I need to focus on getting my character ready for the DLC. Congrats to the devs on turning this game around, but my main focus is the Elden Ring DLC at the moment personally. Although, I might jump in on Lords of the Fallen afterwards though.
It was a fun game for sure. My biggest problem was the pvp rubber banding. I’d that still an issue?
Funny thing, i have it installed and steam updates it regularly. Bought it some time ago, knowing its pros and cons and what can i expect ( i kinda liked Mortal Shell from souls-like btw, so i am sure i would kinda like some parts of it at least ).
Only question i have is, can i finish it in less than 20 days ? :D
Yeah easily
I’ll definitely be back to LotF sometime this year.
Need to hop back in b4 dlc...excited, best non fromsoft souls like for sure
Nice video as always and great work of the developers. Cheers from Germany
You know what i might actually try it now…
After shadow of the erdtree
I was on the fence to begin with having loved elden ring but this is coop has been sick honestly 😊
I was going to buy this but got lies of p instead because of the criticism you mentioned. Might be time to play this the next 12 days while waiting on SOTE.
The new updates are nice. I like the new parry sound, which is a lot better.
Cool. I’ll buy it and give it a try I trust your judgement! If I enjoy it, I’ll continue to trust the suggestions 👍
I’ll eventually try it. It won’t happen any time soon but thanks for the video.
awesome game, didnt get to finish it. I'll get back into it after Shadow of the Erdtree.
I just finished dark souls remastered and wanted another souls like to play, I was about to buy this, but not for full price, I decided to get dark souls 2 instead, so far, I'm loving it
I played it for about 20 hours and just got pissed with enemy density. I'll have to try it out again.
I loved it. platinum in the first month but i will come back to see the differences
Ima big fan of lords of the fallen
I saw this on game pass and laughed because I knew off of the base reviews that it wouldn't be successful, I might play it now tbh. That is, after SotE
How is it running on PS5?
