I started that game last week. To my own surprise i am actually enjoying it a lot. Its really not bad. Lords of the fallen is definitely one of the good soulslikes outhere.

You can clearly see they were heavily inspired by the Dark Souls trilogy in terms of level design, worldbuilding and especially the atmosphere. Maybe that's why I like it so much. Would love to see a sequel. But yh its sometimes a little bit tricky to figure out where to go next. I recommend to look up some guides. So you can find and free the blacksmith. Very importent for upgrating your weapons. Or where to find the holy quintessences to upgrade your "health potion". Where to find all 3 rune tablets

This game is amazing. I've played and beat all of the dark souls' games and this is one of my favorites. I was really surprised by the backlash. They did a great job. I got DS1 vibes but with a modern feel. Please keep making souls games. This one gives me a lot of hope for the future of the devs.
I'm happy they gave us the option to revert the enemy density to how it was. After taking a long brake from the game, when i walked through Mournstead i was baffled how much they reduced enemy density.

I played this game at launch on PS5. Im a huge fan of SoulsLikes and play almost all of them. Fromsoft hands down makes the best games in the industry and I’ve loved Miyazaki’s work since Demons Souls. That being said I absolutely loved Lords of the Fallen and imo it’s the closest to a Fromsoft souls games out of all the new SoulsLikes. I had no issues with it at launch. Performance issues were negligible on PS5 and didn’t affect my overall experience. Combat felt fantastic. World and character designs were magnificent. Even the enemy density that so many ppl complained about felt great to me. About to start up a fresh playthrough after Shadow of the Erdtree so I’m looking forward to playing after all of these updates.
Bought it for 20 bucks right after 1,5 update. So far i like it, the combat is not as sharp as Elden Ring, but thats something you need to get feel for. Then its super fun, the whole design of the game is top notch, especially bosses, armor and weapons.
The only souls-liked I've played was Lies of P. I'm tempted to trying it through game pass or borrow a friend's Dark Souls 3 for a "die=workout" challenge. 😅
The game is good and worth playing, the Developers listened to the fans and fixed the game. I Never got the "enemy density" complaints it was fine for me.

this game got WAY more hate than it deserved. Is it derivative? yes, but it wears it on its sleeve. It's not trying to be something that it isn't. It wants to be its own spin on a Dark Souls game, and at that it absolutely succeeds. thats not even to mention that the multiplayer is easily better than anything From has in their games. DGMW, there's a reason for that: where From games have multiplayer mostly as a concession, LotF fully embraces it in their game. It does make it so that LotF can be much easier than soulslikes, but it also feels less like an afterthought.
I would only suggest playing this game if it is free and you have nothing else to play. It feels so unpolished and rough. If you played Elden ring and you come to this, you’ll probably go right back to Elden Ring. Movement is weird combat is so bland and clunky. The game bugs out quite often. You can miss out on things pretty easily. I’d say it’s a five out of 10.

Nope. The devs are on my blacklist when ut comes to studios. I will never again buy anything or play anything they release. The game is still in a ridiculous state on consoles and months ago they said they're working on the next one. Then we had these dev streams with russian (?) developers and their shady sounding plans for the future that gave it the rest. Not a single cent from me.

This game is astonishingly bad. Horrible designed bosses, the frame rate and lag is terribly bad, terrible designed areas and the adds in this game especially in the snow area are stupidly bad. The one plus to this game is the looks, game looks incredible just really bad implementation when it comes to gameplay. 3/10
I love seeing them support a game that obviously needed more work, but that begs the question, why didn’t they just delay the game and get it right at launch? How many people bought the game, hated it due to these issues, and moved on? How many (like me) watched streams at launch and didn’t buy it due to some of these issues? Just delay it, get it right, and have a successful launch…
Because they needed the money, if they waited another year, that’s another year not generating money while paying developers, utilities, etc. I’m not saying this is the best way to do it but at the end of the day, maybe their best option.
Because development isn't that simple. They were probably satisfied with the product at release, until gamers got their hands on it and discovered all the issues. We should feel at least somewhat lucky that devs can respond to criticism like this. Before the Internet, we had to accept games that were poorly developed. Gamers tend to forget this.
I couldn't get into this game. The prospect of constantly walking around with your lamp to see if there's any items or secrets in the area just destroyed the momentum. I'd love to be convinced to try again, but I couldn't get past that. It felt like work, not natural exploration.
You don't need to constantly walk around checking with your lamp. There are hints when you should use: * Butterflies/Moths * Vibrating controller * Foliage at the end of edges * Blue life bar on enemy * Water * Blocked paths * Voices * Killing a boss ...and just if you want to peak into the other world or explore it.
I played it at launch. I got the plat at 150 hours. Great game. I loved the dark gothic nature of it and my god the graphics was amazing preferably on pc.

Idk how the game was like at release with all the mixed reviews but so far I’m having a blast. As a soulsborne fan, this is one of the closest to a soulsborne game. The gameplay, enemies, scenery, and the overall vibes remind me of darks souls and bloodborne mixed together. Clutch that this is on the game pass or I wouldn’t even consider it at all.
TBH this really feels like they are paying you for a positive review. There is a reason that after 30 updates it is still going to Gamepass. You are brushing over many flaws and doing a disservice to your viewers by simping so hard for a game that is not great.

Unfortunately, you don't get a second chance at a first impression. The damage has been done and even after the dust has settled... people will not be returning to this title. While I enjoyed my time with this game, traversal stutters and hitching (as a result of Unreal Engine), simply cannot be patched out and ruin an otherwise unique experience. These issues are inherently a part of Unreal Engine, even beyond version 5.4+.

For me too. Now I played LOTF 150h and Elden Ring feels so weird. Very slow and inaccurate. I want to play it again for the dlc, but I hate it how it plays
Won't be playing it there support took well over 5 months to respond. Was on xbox joined a multi player game and lag was so bad my game restarted and I went from level 200 to 50. No way to back it up. There response 5 months later was sorry can't do anything.
Less trash mobs, more checkpoints, let me pause the game in a full offline mode. Also, don’t force me to grind for basic materials or healing items. It makes the game “easier” in all the right ways. Every souls-like should do this by default. I’m glad Lords is listening to their audience.

@@Kitcho771 Stick to 1 or 2 on your first playthrough. When you start your second turn on the upgraded weapons modifier and randomized loot modifier. You’ll be picking up high rank weapons consistently
If you couldn’t get into Elden Ring I doubt this game will do it for you, but try it out for sure you never know if a games for you until you try it 👍🏽

Sorry bro...I played and finished game a few times before all the patches..loved it...performance not an issue on ps5. Now, having picked it up again with 1.5 i have a ton of lag, stuttering, enemies getting stuck in walls etc. The randomized loot is cool but also applies to the saintly quintessence...so after multiple updates these devs still cznt figure out how fix their performance issues, and have made it worse I'll take a hard pass
Bought the game at launch and after 3 playthroughs i think its a great game and definitely worth your time, yea its a souls like genre but has enough to differentiate itself. For those who want to give it a try, dont enter the game with a darksouls cmparison mentality. Its not a perfect game but a fun game.

Now youve mentioned the pros... heres the cons. Lack of diversity in encounters, its just melee backed up by rangers in every encounter. Early and mid game bosses are extremly tanky and you feel like your dealing no damage. You unlock the smith near the second major boss so not ugrading for hours. Ememys scale (still trying to work this out, it says in the patch notes ememys now scale but I'm unsure as to what, the players level? The players weapon?which wepaon highest leveled? Lowest leveled? Do they scale to the area?? (No i tested this i have a level 160 and teleported back to the start i cannot 1 shot anything) It seems to be scaled to the player level but needs further investigation. The lantern mechanics are tediously boring and the umbral world is overbearing. Your forced to solve Soul Reaver esc puzzles in atime window where the longer you take the more and harder ememys spawn, if you cant solve them or traverse the maze of these maps fast enough then your futher punished by a spaning boss that never truly dies even if you beat it..... oh and you health is cut in half.... and theirs a poison part of the game (think like blight town from DS1) which lrevents you from geting withered health back. (Grey health) exaple: you use the lanteen to go onto ubral world... your health is cut by 50% leaving you with wotheed health you can land attacks to turn witherd health to normal red health.... but poison constantly ticks damage and any damge removes ALL withered health. Terible design. Baring all of that the game had some unique mechanics like the soul rip ability with the lantern and such. All theyed need to really do to make the game better is to remove ememy scaling and that would fix alot of issues a lot of new players and vets have foe this game, the next (assuming they'll be a lotf 3) they would have to etheir reqork the umbral BS world and wither and remove ememy scaling.... and of couse more diverse encouters!! All that being said check tbe game out its still good its just got some major flaws, but its doing alot better then release i can say that much.
Meh people rarely come back to a game they had a bad experience with the first time around, and it had one of the worst level design on release (mainly because of the monsters numbers etc ...), they may have fixed it now but most player have already make up their mind.

It's a pretty game, I love the aesthetic. On my best day I'm mid at souls-likes, so I rarely buy these at launch but on discount with the updates, my mouse is hovering over the buy button, should I click?

DS3 is awesome. Lies of P is mediocre. Elden Ring is best, but you cant play it twice without a break, because it feels like marathon.

Playing on gamepass and gotta say so far (I’m in pilgrims perch) the games great. Fun, challenging and interesting.

Less trash mobs, more checkpoints, let me pause the game in a full offline mode. Also, don’t force me to grind for basic materials or healing items. It makes the game “easier” in all the right ways. Every souls-like should do this by default. I’m glad Lords is listening to their audience.

@@Kitcho771 Stick to 1 or 2 on your first playthrough. When you start your second turn on the upgraded weapons modifier and randomized loot modifier. You’ll be picking up high rank weapons consistently

If you couldn’t get into Elden Ring I doubt this game will do it for you, but try it out for sure you never know if a games for you until you try it 👍🏽
@alexisrobledoperez1376 I like it. There's a big learning curve but it's not as brutal as elder ring. Don't get me wrong I'm still dying lol but at least I have a better fighting chance.
@DirtySerb you will like it because it's a bit easier and much different. I actually don't like Elden ring that much either compared to dark souls 1 and Bloodborne.
Sorry bro...I played and finished game a few times before all the patches..loved it...performance not an issue on ps5. Now, having picked it up again with 1.5 i have a ton of lag, stuttering, enemies getting stuck in walls etc. The randomized loot is cool but also applies to the saintly quintessence...so after multiple updates these devs still cznt figure out how fix their performance issues, and have made it worse I'll take a hard pass
Bought the game at launch and after 3 playthroughs i think its a great game and definitely worth your time, yea its a souls like genre but has enough to differentiate itself. For those who want to give it a try, dont enter the game with a darksouls cmparison mentality. Its not a perfect game but a fun game.

Don’t bother. Game barely runs. Bosses are easy. Everything is forgettable. Weapons all have the exact same movesets.
Incredible game really enjoyed it going back to it after I finish the Elden ring dlc

Now youve mentioned the pros... heres the cons.
Lack of diversity in encounters, its just melee backed up by rangers in every encounter.
Early and mid game bosses are extremly tanky and you feel like your dealing no damage.
You unlock the smith near the second major boss so not ugrading for hours.
Ememys scale (still trying to work this out, it says in the patch notes ememys now scale but I'm unsure as to what, the players level? The players weapon?which wepaon highest leveled? Lowest leveled? Do they scale to the area?? (No i tested this i have a level 160 and teleported back to the start i cannot 1 shot anything)
It seems to be scaled to the player level but needs further investigation.
The lantern mechanics are tediously boring and the umbral world is overbearing. Your forced to solve Soul Reaver esc puzzles in atime window where the longer you take the more and harder ememys spawn, if you cant solve them or traverse the maze of these maps fast enough then your futher punished by a spaning boss that never truly dies even if you beat it..... oh and you health is cut in half.... and theirs a poison part of the game (think like blight town from DS1) which lrevents you from geting withered health back. (Grey health) exaple: you use the lanteen to go onto ubral world... your health is cut by 50% leaving you with wotheed health you can land attacks to turn witherd health to normal red health.... but poison constantly ticks damage and any damge removes ALL withered health. Terible design.
Baring all of that the game had some unique mechanics like the soul rip ability with the lantern and such.
All theyed need to really do to make the game better is to remove ememy scaling and that would fix alot of issues a lot of new players and vets have foe this game, the next (assuming they'll be a lotf 3) they would have to etheir reqork the umbral BS world and wither and remove ememy scaling.... and of couse more diverse encouters!!
All that being said check tbe game out its still good its just got some major flaws, but its doing alot better then release i can say that much.
Lords of the fallen is one my favourite souls-like game of all time and probably the most i have ever enjoyed coop campaign.

Meh people rarely come back to a game they had a bad experience with the first time around, and it had one of the worst level design on release (mainly because of the monsters numbers etc ...), they may have fixed it now but most player have already make up their mind.
It got recently added on game pass so its got a good few new players trying it out now.
@@83gt_plus57 sure people that haven't already made up their minds about it will certainly be able to enjoy a better version, but you can never make a 2nd first impression. And it failed at release for a lot of people.
