    took the cats off my 02 chevy 496 and mufflers and damn it made a difference in sound and performance. sounds like a truck now

    Idc if they add power, they decrease sound. That being said, they're off of my 04 Chevy and 02 Mustang. Both with Flows.

    Gotta say, after adding high flow ceramic catalytic converters that my car no longer wreaks of gas, and I love the lack of droning at speed. I think I added more power with them.

    Mine is no flex pipe and no cat, just straight pipe from the header all the way to the resonator out the other pipe which is 2 in half that connects with a 3inch pipe. Sounds awesome and lots of air flow

    Let's see the flow in 5 years lol. Why would anyone run catalytic converters on a belvedere?

    What engine size are these good for? I read they were only good up to a 5.9L but I'm wondering will they still work for my 6.3L engine.

    You see its the sound of my exhaust system that I care about. I dont want a cat in the first place because I would want my build to sound the way they do without thier cats. Do these high flow cats change the sound? Do they make the car sound stock?

    so there's NO way those cats would pass a Cali sniffer Smog test. they are WAYYYY to far back for that.

    Yeah but what about the big bulky Cadillac converters I have MagnaFlow exhaust on my 2001 Dodge Ram I was thinking by cutting off the Cadillac converter and then welding it back together without the Cadillac converter it will give me better airflow and more horsepower is that wrong?

      We do not recommend to remove the Catalytic Converter from your vehicle. Federal laws stipulate that the emissions control components must remain intact and can only be replaced under certain conditions, not completely removed. If you live in a State that has some form of emissions testing then you may also fail the inspection/test based on the removal of the Catalytic Converter. Finally, there are sensors that connect to the exhaust system and the Catalytic Converter itself that communicate with the vehicles main computer where the computer will adjust air and fuel based on the readings of these sensors. If the Catalytic Converter is removed then the sensor will get a false reading and will not be able to correctly adjust the air and fuel mixture. You will also get a "check engine" light by removing the Catalytic Converter as well. If you have additional questions please give us a call at 707-544-4761.

    Why when i deleted 2 catalityc convert on mustang 2003.vibrates? Is that normal??...

    • @FlowmasterInc
      @FlowmasterInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Removal of a Federally mandated emissions component is illegal and not recommended. That being said, I have heard multiple stories of the exhaust note getting louder and the smell of exhaust becomes more noticeable with cat removal. But, if you're experiencing rattling/shaking/vibration issues I would take your vehicle back to the shop that removed them or speak with an exhaust professional about inspecting the issue.

      The Catalytic Converter shown in the video is a 49 State Catalytic Converter that is not legal for sale in California at this time.

    I have no cats and my exhaust stinks do cats get rid of smell, and the car is professionally dyno tuned so fuel air mixture is perfect

      +heydude76 Find another tunner. Unless you're running methanol or nitro, or your car is an oil burner, your car exhaust should not smell (your car is probably running rich) even without cats.

      +julio chavez the egg smell is due to faulty cats, not the lack of one.

      +Tomas Av. Not really powerful, it only cranks out HP in the low 200s. I've seen 4 bangers crank out more power stock lol. V8's these days are way more powerful by double the HP.
