You know, the writers didn't originally intend to force you to fight Orsino in the mage ending, it was either he was exclusive to the Templar path, or killing him was optional after you found out about his involvement with Quentin,( I've heard both). But when they were making the game, some higher ups came to them and said "We want another boss fight here" and made them make Orsino a boss fight no mater what.
My Reaction: What is Orsino doing?.....Put down the Knife ! No! Wtf men i spend two and a half games to prove that you are not all Evil and insane blood mages!!!
He deserves no sympathy he's the reason leandra and the other woman are dead because he knew about quentin and did nothing so he deserved to die especially after turning himself into an abomination
DA2 is still a very enjoyable game, especially with all the DLCs added, but the core game is a rushed product. Small game world and recycled dungeon maps aside, the story arcs have a decidedly forced feel some times. The Orsino transformation is a good example. Your Hawk and company can be so powerful at this stage that they absolutely wipe the floor with Templars, and you get the exact same reaction from Orsino ("Ahhhh... all is lost, it's demon time now!!!").
Every play through of DA2 I've done I've supported the mages, I always tell myself to side with the templars just once but can't bring myself to do it. Yet I always feel so betrayed by Orsino in this scene.
Fun fact: Orsino's VA is also responsible for Captain Copernicus Qwark from the Ratchet & Clank games. If you played those, you will never, ever unhear this.
I never got this. I mean, what did Orsino expect to happen? He didn't get very far, even if he made it to Meredith's forces what would he do? Get killed quickly after delivering the perfect evidence for her beliefs. What was his plan? Because he literally turned into a monster and attacked his allies... What did he think would happen? What was he trying to do? Did he think turning into one big monster would help... Because it didn't... We're down a powerful mage and now we have to fight a monster. I thought Orsino was good at magic... did he meant to do this? Why would he think 1 blood monster would help... he'd of needed ten AT LEAST to get anywhere!
I mean, it makes *some* sense lore-wise, if I recall it correctly. The way magic works in their world is mages invoke the power of the Fade, a realm where a thought shapes reality, to affect the reality of a physical world in a manner of mage's choosing. And Templars' abilities "reinforce" physical reality against those Fade-powered alterations, hence their ability to dull mages' power. So, against a number of trained templars even Orsino is most likely to be pretty helpless. And then there's blood magic, which fuels magic not with the power of the Fade, but with the lifeforce contained in blood, so Templars aren't as effective against a blood mage, and Orsino's golem would actually present a threat.
He sacrifice to protect his children that's the duty pd the first enchantment and what a knight-commander should do . The seekers faild , the chantry faild and but thw bridging hand of the inquisitor will remain
I've always liked the theory that Orsino never really went Big Bad Blood-Mage. Instead, he let the fact he knew about Julian and did nothing to stop him, leading to Hawke killing Orsino in a fit of rage. Varric makes up the harvester story to protect Hawke.
No. But...you can play the table top version of Dragon Age on an online forum like Myth-Weavers or instead over Skype with your family/friends/contacts. ^^
Orsino. Why, why doom us all?!?!?!?! You betrayed your kind in the end the only reason I side with you is because of my beliefs on mages. And well the fact that Merideth does the same

It's a shame Orsino was pushed into this, but it gets even more sad when he doesn't reach Meredith to fight her but dies by our hands instead.

It's a real pleasure to help people who transform themselves in abomination and attack you.

Wow... I was today years old when I learned this. I'll never be able to take Orsino seriously again!!! 😂
Harvesters are terrifying. I love it when fantasy games throw weird shit in.
The game had rushed development and needed another boss for the mage side so they ended up using Orsino.
Man I felt so bad for Orsino D:
He allowed your mother to be murdered.

but what about the rest 1000 of harvesters out there?
Well at least we can fight THIS harvester with a good team, didn't have that privilege in the first game
Yes the two sides are completly crazy.
we cant save him regardless of choices? man!!
2:50 He did the same as Zaboera in Dragon Quest
He sacrifice to protect his children that's the duty pd the first enchantment and what a knight-commander should do . The seekers faild , the chantry faild and but thw bridging hand of the inquisitor will remain

I freaked out after Orsino turned into a Harvester :O but he isn;t that hard to beat
i person using evil magic doesn't make the person evil. like people who have guns are bad. it depends on the person
If Harvesters are made through blood magic, then where did the one in Amarrack come from?
A mage was brought to animate the Golem, if I recall correctly.
I must say, you have a very spiffy character.
Oh, and the fight was awesome ;)

True
Such a shame that some games lacks so much details
Baldurs Gate3 is hope for me right now
Just finished the Game, PS3 version, earlier. God I didn't expect it. At. All.
Or soon became Harvest Orsino
Is this online with people
why did he turn into that fuckin thing we woulda won it
EA should be ashamed they cut the devs time and we got this 'logical' turn of events....
More ideal blood magic spell might look like this: /watch?v=XpJTESifST4 also skip to and start at 4:04
So, turns out Meredith was right about him all along.
Wait is that Qwark? Lmao
i dreamth that i almost got eaten by a harvester....
Sounds hot
Pudge (dotA) Devourer (HoN) LOL same face.
Disgusting... I always was pro-mage and believed blood magic, is only a way to power, and thus must be exploited... but this? Orsino... >_
