      No because as you pointed out this mess with the Qunari was all her fault in the first place in other words she betrays us first by not telling us of the damned book sooner and then tries to run off with it when she knows the book can get the Qunari from the city..and her half assed attempt to set things right was far too little far too late imo with all the death that happened due to her selfishness. I only spared her once and that was because i had a romance with her with my female Hawke and I still felt guilty letting her get away with it.

      It's too bad that it is later said that she escaped the Arishok (even before "The Veilguard" further confirmed it). The Bioware of the past couldn't let their precious, selfish and slaggy cow suffer consequences for her selfish actions, her hypocrisy and her outright creepiness towards Merrill, Aveline, and Bethany/Carver. Seriously, if she was male and still did the same creepy stuff, people would be outraged. Zevran knew the limits.

      It's insanely hard to care for her when she spends all game dismissing all issues and reacting to everything with apathy, and then expects people to care about her in return. Respect is a two way street. I don't know how to morally justify not handing her over to the Qunari and their spies unless if you romanced her.

    "This is what I get for thinking you were different, that you cared about me!"
    No, this is what you get for stealing the relic and all the shit that followed, including stabbing Hawke in the back. This response just makes it sound like the reason she came back was because she thought she could sucker Hawke into defending her from the consequences of her actions.
    If you robbed a bank and got hundreds of people killed in the following police chase, you don't get to just go "Ooopsie. I'm so sorry." and walk away scott-free just because you owned up to it after everything went to shit.
    Though, honestly, I'd hoped there'd be a middle ground choice where we can still duel the Arishock, but make Isabella answer for her crimes as well. Dude still invaded our city and killed a shit ton of people.

    • @ghanimajade
      @ghanimajade 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Easiest time I had defeating him was with my Blood Mage, I just sapped his life away. With my warrior I just kept hitting him with Holy Smite to stun him so I didn't get skewered.

    • @LiveAndSound
      @LiveAndSound 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ghanimajade Yeah, a BM can just run away, launch spell, run away, launch spell...and the Arishok, for such an unstoppable giant of a man, is quite weak to stuns.
      That's why I went Spirit Healer instead, bigger challenge....or so I thought. Turns out, 25 points in constitution, 300 health regen per second, and upgraded heal practically turned my Hawke into a quasi-tank of sorts, any hit the Arishok did to me was healed in less than a minute.

      So no, You savage, I will not give You Isabela but She will get punished by our law, not by your Qun law. Get out of my city.

    • @Zinodin
      @Zinodin 10 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      uHasioorr How can the Arishok 'give back the elves' if the Elves in the alienage thought the Qunari were better protectors than the city guard and Kirkwall? I actually didn't see a problem in the Qunaris taking over the city to begin with because Kirkwall sucked at governing itself. If you lose control over a business or a city, workers/people will take advantedge of it until it crumbles. The Qunaris were EXTREMELY patient, having lost years and lives to Kirkwall's incompetence, and they partly rebelled because Kirkwall couldn't look after their own.
      In fairness, the Qun has many strengths and positives. There are guardians watching the children from birth and give them jobs based on their personalities and likes. Because most are given tasks that give them joy and pride to begin with, most accept the Qun. The downside is that the Qun does not like people who stray from their assigned duty. If you're a mage, you're f***ed too.
      Either way, it's better to just kill the Arishok because if not, Isabela just steals the book again, and the Arishok gets executed anyway because Par Vollen didn't like his city rebellion no matter the legitimate justification. And Isabela doesn't learn any lesson, unless she sticks with Hawke for a few more years. She's a slow learner... And still kind of a shithead at the end of the day.

    • @uHasioorr
      @uHasioorr 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They commit crime, they killed a man, they committed lynch(they are part of Kirkwalls cancer) so they need to answer for that and in my game Aveline did manage city guard well. Elves just run from responsibility and Isabela didn't stole from qunari but from some shady guys that wanted to sell this book, because of that she must answer to Kirkwall law.
      I do not see a problem in accepting Qun as long as you won't do it to avoid consequences of your action or beheading by qunari.

    The title of this video implies something that is simply not true. Hawke does not betray Isabela by handing her over to the Qunari. It was Isabela who betrayed Hawke and Kirkwall. She plunged an entire city-state into war by her single-minded greed (a deed which would directly place Meredith into power, which resulted in Anders blowing up the Chantry, which started the Mage-Templar War that resulted in the death of literal millions - so good job, Isabela!) and didn't feel an ounce of remorse for the death of several thousand people. Isabela is one of the worst fictional people ever conceived. The worst part is that, even if handed over, she escapes and faces no consequences for her actions, ever.

  • @VegetaSoup
    @VegetaSoup 8 ปีที่แล้ว +67

    Honestly, I kinda of wish I handed her over. But, I didn't. And I figure it matches my Hawke, because she wouldn't have handed her over.
    But honestly, this is what makes me dislike Isabela. To anyone who questions my dislike, it's honestly this. She's willing to see a whole city burn because she wants to keep a damn book.
    I don't care that she likes sex, don't even try to use that against me, either.
    Honestly, I would be fine if she was a thief and stole shit, but that fact that she doesn't give two shits about the people in Kirkwall just rubs me the wrong way.
    Plus, when she left after I saved her ass from being handed over to the Arishok, I was completely done with her.
    (Not to mention she is the most easily swayed companion when you're in the Fade. Like seriously, she's willing to kill for a damn boat.)
    Literally the worst companion I've come across, and the only one I really dislike.

But I know I am missing some aspects because I've never had a romance with her character with no intention of doing so, but from what I've read & seen gameplay of I don't think my opinion would change much lol.

    Interestingly for me I partially got the Arishok's respect, I got the achievement for it but he didn't call me these titles. Also I didn't have Isabela at high friendship or rivalry so she didn't appear here, the Arishok was just like the Qun demands that we fight.

  • @crisurdiales

    I (player) don't blame the Arishok, if I had been him I'd probably have done the same or worse. However, since I was Hawke (and the sarchastic/charming type, no less), I had a very different point of view and my patience with qunari, mages, templars and people of Kirkwall was growing pretty thin. I only got along at that point with Aveline, Varric and Isabela, which is basically why I wouldn't let her go..

She's responsible for so many senseless deaths and so much destruction. smh. Still can't do it though.

    The Arishok might be the bad guy here and this sort of feels like a bad option. But Isabella did steal the Tome of Kosslum from the Arishok and started the Qunari invasion of the city.
