Our bike dreams are David's reality smh 😞
Awesome spec‘ed roadie and such a clean and perfect build. A pleasure to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovely build! When is the review of the bike coming out?
Lots of attention to detail...great build.
Weight?
Mmm nice job scratching up that rim with the hanger alignment tool
Just Build Bikes. Very envious of this build but partly because of the Abbey tools
Was the ASMR element intentional? 😉
Great bike, why the choice of hookless rims though in an ultimate build? given all the (recent) backlash and even the UCI investigation
Great video more of these 😁
Beautiful build, but somebody needs to explain this mechanic that that is not how to use a torque wrench. Never tighten again after the first click. Because the second time, you pass the click and further tighten after the click. You're putting in more torque than what you set on the wrench. You could even see it happen at 11:06 in the video
Really great build. The care required w/ the DOT fluid is a reason I’m sticking w Shimano mineral oil brakes for now, though it’s good to see SRAM is using mineral in the new Maven MTB brakes and the DB8s.
Been looking forward to seeing this
David, do you mind sharing which handlebars these are? I like the groove underneath for the cable placement. Great video!!
They are the new Zipp aero handlebars that launched at the same time as the groupset
Amazed he's not wearing gloves, DOT is nasty (assuming SRAM still insist on using it).
No gloves for most of the video but pretty sure I saw gloves on for the fluid insertion. All of SRAM’s stuff is unfortunately still DOT (nasty, corrosive to bike frames & human frames) except for a couple of MTB brakes - Maven (extreme braking performance/heavy weight) and DB8 (low end).
@@edrozenberg Yeah saw gloves later on, but saw hands covered in fluid while loading the syringes. They are his hands I guess! : )
Dot fluid really isn’t that bad, most mechanics don’t bother wearing gloves for it
Sounds like you used carbon paste in the headset 😂
That headset bearing looks like a throwing a sausage down a hallway.
...and how much would it cost?
Wow, a bike being built! How original! 😴
SRAM keeps getting SO close to the function of Shimano, it can be close.
And its different, to have SRAM. I tried it on one Mt bike and it got frustrating to be not quite as good, shifting when climbing or any load, just not quite.
I look at the all the bikes on the Tour, dang it no 1 X drivetrains.
What is the matter with those guys? Time Trial bikes only.
Amazed to see that pro mechanics still pour latex sealant into an unseated tire. So much easier and cleaner to inject through valve stem.
I've always pour sealant in this way & never had an issue. No need to fuss with the valve stem core. Just a quick wipe of the wheel and it's done.
@@455LT1 A valve stem core is a fuss?.....
@@455LT1 Silca Sealant will block the pipe and valvestem.
i see too often on builds. a mechanic who insists on wearing a ring. you do know you increase the risk of making micro scratches on the paint. stop it.
Make sure you don't ride it either. Wall art only
