The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I was listening to Timi Yuro before i was a teen, and i still listen to her as a senior! Love her voice.
Elvis loved Timi. Many times he would see her show after he was done with his show at the International Hotel/casino, now renamed the Westgate. He had a private table reserved at the Stardust, where he would watch her show.
Elvis had great taste !
Timing was Out of this World !
Reminded me a little of another Dynamo- Brenda Lee ! RIP
Absolutely fantastic, what a voice. Many thanks for uploading this. With Love from England.
Damn she had a set of lungs. What a talent. It's sad she passed so young.
She's amazing 🤩🤩🤩
Best singer ever! 😍
I love Timi Yuro 💜💜💜
Beautiful old song that time before i ❤ it very much i like to be sang
Great singer!
Que época tan maravillosa y, genial cantante ! Me encantó. 💜😇🎊🎶🌈🌞
One of our great. I loved her then and I love her now
A song knew when Timi was singing it! She had her own unique way. What a voice.
Discovered this lady today, wow what a singer.
I love 💕 it 😢❤
Cautiva su voz!!! Maravillosa 😊
Thank you 👍...Thank You Lord ✝️ for the Tingles 🙏❤✝️
All her songs are fantastic !! Strong voice….
Check out her other songs!
what an awesome upload! Clips of Timi Yuro are few and hard to find. At this time, Timi was riding high with an LP entitled "Soul" with a lot of standards directed to the "middle of the road" crowd (MANY of which are sitting right here in this audience) while at the same time riding high with her classic pop records appealing to the younger crowd. One of the most versatile performers ever...and what a BOOMING voice!
GoooooD👍️👍️👍️
Wonderful footage! Broadcast live from the Stardust nightclub in Las Vegas, this episode featured the first of two appearances by Timi on the Ed Sullivan show. She is best-known for her Top 10 hit from 1961, "Hurt". "Let Me Call you Sweetheart" was her latest single at the time of this broadcast, a remake of a song which was originally a big success in 1911.
Also, today is my grandfather's 92nd birthday, and I was hoping you might post "Beyond the Sea" by operatic tenor James Melton from a 1951 episode today, as he has always wanted to see that footage. He bought the record when it came out, but did not own a television set. He even named his son after James Melton! I realize that you schedule your clips in advance though, but it would be wonderful if you could post it someday.
I had to listen to this twice. She puts a different spin on the song, vocally and musically,, as opposed to the Bing Crosby and Patti Page versions. She has that big voice! Thank you for always sharing! Happy Birthday to your grandfather! 🎈 I've been thinking of him as each day passes by. Beautiful story... hope you both have a blessed day! 😊
@@that70sgirl90 Thank you so much! You are such a kind person! I'll let him know!
@@that70sgirl90 He wants me to thank you for your birthday wishes!
Tom Smith -- Thanks for the info on Timi and this episode.
And a Happy Birthday to your grandfather. If my dad was still with us, he would have turned 98 today.
@@TomElvisSmith ... Tell him I said, "Thank you!" What a wonderful man he is. 😊
I don't remember people sitting at tables on the Ed Sullivan Show
lovely💎!!!!! 💕💕💕💕
@1:49 belt Queen!! 👑
Fantastic singer ,and like that the dress before ! I have the dress like Timi !
Great video, congrats from Brazil
I've seen this before but never knew it was on Sullivan or that Frank recommended her. I guess they knew a little bit about the business but why was she kept so secret for so long? I knew who she was but thought i was alone in love for so long, thanks much for sharing such great tunes.j
Show 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Too bad they couldn't come up with better material for Timi Yuro. Her "What's A Matter Baby", produced by Phil Spector when Clyde Otis left Liberty Records, is powerful, even today. Diminutive frame, big voice, reminiscent of Dinah Washington.
One of my all time favourite songs by her is "It'll never be over for me"
@@marv6973 One that she recorded in1968, I just learned.
Yes...Dinah Washington..what a song stylist
audience is right up in there.
The folks at IMDb make no mention of Timi Yuro appearing on the January 14, 1962, episode of "The Ed Sullivan Show." They list 14 acts, but not Ms. Yuro.
.. Tx ! ... They didn't forgot her, it's just before the Beatles no one cares of the foreigners.
Unbelievable she is only 21 here...what a presence...
The best my idol.
Interesting, Frank Sinatra knew she had star quality. He picked her as a great singer. Quite a recommendation.
Time when singers just belted out a tune, no half nude dancers distracting
Grandissima
Timi was the best but Radio did not think so BBC here in UK will not play her track I have only heard one that is the northen soul track. But with new Radio station call Boom and they have played few tracks
