I've been in love with Barbra since I first saw her in Funny Girl and I saw all her films, watching them all more than once, many, many times! I bought her records, and listen to them or singing along with her many, many times and still do. I imagine I will for the rest of my life. Barbra lent to me a comfort and a pride of self in being a woman. I had a lazy eye, red head, freckles and was teased quite harshly when young. I developed other talents that were noticed more than my outside appearance. I grew up to be a much prettier woman than the young girl often ridiculed but the real gift was I didn't care about what others thought of my appearance so much when older, and valued what was inside. She and I have much in common: I lost my father at seven and my mother was quite hateful to me. I was very close to my grandmother and lived with her off and on. My mother was jealous and only wanted me around to raise my sisters and brother and do her bidding. She only had aspirations for me that included being a good wife and mother and thought me too stupid for college or a career. Barbra gave me so much growing up! I wish I could meet her to tell her of the many gifts she gave me. I cry now just thinking of it! I will always love her! Oh yes, I too cannot abide lying either! I love you so Barbra and thank you to what you've given us all!

I never knew Barbara’s biological life. I remember the first time I saw her on the Ed Sullivan show. She was 16 at her singing voice was amazing. I’ve always liked her n even her nose. I don't see 'how she lives is sad". She weathered a very unfortunate childhood and adolescence, and yet should be greatly admired for what she has accomplished. I saw her in Funny Girl at Radio City Music H when I was about 12 yrs old. She was fantastic and I've loved ever since. So glad she didn't fall into the cosmetic surgery trap- all the more power to her. I think she is beautiful.

Of course, she would not change her nose -- which is her distinction --because it is highly involved in producing those beloved tones and resonances that only she has, and, thank God, she left it alone. She is beautiful, winsome, alluring, very feminine, and so very talented. She deserves every award ever received by her, and ALL the adoration she has received for the past 65 years as we all still cannot believe the talents she possesses or the magic she makes when she sings. I'll bet her father loved her greatly for the short time he had her.
