I been going hard PS4 collecting for the last year or so and this is what I've found: --Common PS4 exclusives like God of War, Horizon, Killzone etc are dirt cheap and will be. A good place to start for most people. --Common PS4 cross platform stuff is also dirt cheap; titles like Prey, Dishonored, Assassins Creed etc. --Uncommon PS4 titles are rising quickly. Titles like Deadpool (although I consider that a rare title) like you mentioned or small pool titles like the Limited Run Games titles with larger runs are going up fast, titles imported from Playasia or Redart Games etc. --Rare titles have already been expensive, are expensive, will continue to be expensive, and are going to go WAY up as time goes on as physical goes away. Titles like Rain World, Sense, The Coma, etc regularly go for well over $100 or even $200. So on some stuff you don't really need to worry about moving on it. Some stuff it's already too late.
@@meanmachine5598 I hope so with Rainworld in particular. $200-$300 for a copy on ebay these days. . I own it digitally currently but I saw that LRG was reprinting it probably on PS5. Unfortunately the PS5 build is buggy and has frame drops; the PS4 version is a superior port.
@@charlesshamseldin9555 unfourtunely it may take some patience, but most of us all have so many games just keep an ear out and enjoy the things you already have. When I got my PS5, I transitioned my PS4 Pro into a dedicated PSVR machine. Keep an eye out for PSVR physical games. Many had very low print runs and nobody is buying them right now. I have probably close to 50 PSVR physical games many of which I picked up for 5 bucks at GameStop.

My PS4 Pro is basically my dedicated VR system at this point, and I snag titles for it as often as selection and funds allow. I get a lot of weird looks in stores when I tell them I am an active PSVR collector.
I've been collecting exclusively PS3 and PS4 over the last year or so. I'm having a blast just collecting, and haven't played many of them yet. My son is only 8 months old, so I'm stocking up for the future. Hope he likes gaming lol

I'd say the goty/complete editions of games with all or most dlc on the disc like Spiderman, bloodborne, and resident evil 7 are also worth looking out for
Started 360 collecting before most of the prices went up but right after some of the first delisting happened. Also got a small PS4 collection going but some of the old games are still $50 online. I think it has a bit further to drop on some prices honestly.
Totally agree with this. Another bonus is you can get “ game of the year “editions. I just bought resident evil 7 gold edition, with all the doc included, for £13 brand new.🎉
I went hard on the PS4 early COVID when a lot of these stores just wanted a sale. I remember GameStop doing sales like 4 for $40 or 4 for $20 and stockpiling so many ps4 and 360 games at the time. That’s a huge reason why I have over 200 PS4 games 😅
I still have my ps4 pro and my son's old white ps4. I vhanged the thermal paste and cleaned them, and they are quiet and run beautifully. I have been grabbing ps4 games over the last few months.
I got my ps4 3 years ago from Amazon, its a 1TB ps4 slim and it was $299 and it came bundled with 3 games, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us and God of War. I thought that was a great deal. And I still play it and have fun doing so. And I'm so glad they're still releasing certain games for it. I'm glad they put Street Fighter 6 on there and Resident Evil 4 remake and the new fatal fury game is coming to ps4 next year and its awesome. I got my husband a PS4 for $25 just yesterday from a neighbor. When they showed it to me it looked dirty and beat up so I also thought it didn't work. Turns out it was a Destiny edition and just needed to be wiped off a little. If you are familiar with the destiny edition you know why I thought this initially. It turned out to be a hidden gem and my husband couldn't be happier. It even came with 4 controllers that work perfectly.
There are a lot of ps4 games already over $100+ will be interesting to see what happens when the ps4 store does close. Ps4 had so many companies like limited run print games. Import games also work and many have english patches
Thank you for bringing up that a ton of games work fine off the disc with no Internet required! I bought, installed, and beat red dead 2 completely offline. Granted, there were a few instances where an NPC stood up from a campfire and fell through the ground..but we won't won't talk about that haha.
The critically acclaimed limited rung games and iam8bit releases are going to be pricey. Some already are. What remains of edith finch, the messenger, nex machina, celeste (lrg), hyper light drifter, gravity rush remastered, rez infinite, blasphemous, outer wilds, transistor, bastion, etc etc
Man I upgraded to PS5 but I'm picking up a ton of cheap used PS4 bangers. Rn buy 2 get 1 free this week at GameStop which is not as good as pawn shops, but still walking away with pretty good steals including steel cases and posters with some of them just try to buy the ones with their og cases the cases may be worth something years later
The other thing about running certain PS4 games on PS5, you run the risk of seeing glitches, or graphical issues. There's videos online but some examples are Until Dawn, Shadow of the Colossus and even some Call of Duty games. Always try to play on the original console if you can!
Been telling people since the first games for PS4 started hitting clearance prices, same with PS5 games, grab the cheap ones wherever you find them. All retail stores tend to put items on clearance every quarter and don’t discount local garage sales, I have found brand new sealed games for just a few bucks.
Considering I still haven’t bought a PS5 and still haven’t been convinced it is worth forking over $500 for one I would also say yes, the PS4 is alive and well ☺️ Resident Evil 4 remake (RE4 is my second favorite in the series) played just fine.
I still have the PS4, although I mostly use the PS5 for the games now, but that being said I still actively look for games for the PS4 that I don't have. You make so many great points in this video, and for anyone who would want to just get the PS4 (even the early models) it is a high recommend, such a great console with an awesome selection of games for it.
The PS4 is now my 2nd favorite PS console. I absolutely love collecting for it. It has everything. Now is definitely the time to grab stuff. The only thing that is scary is the companies that are doing reprints. If you buy something ESRB that is expensive you could take a hit.
Great video! I don't think I'll ever get rid of my PS4. It's an all-in one entertainment system for me. I play games and stream all my favorite content. Also, hard drive are super cheap and easy to install if it ever craps out. I have a 6 terabyte external hard drive attached to mine as well. I'll die before I ever fill that up. If you have a PS4, I recommend getting an external hard drive.
@@SSJ4Vegiito The PlayStation 4 can play HD and 3D Blu-rays, but not 4K UHD. Both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro play HD and 3D Blu-ray discs. I am going for the games that peak my interest ,the games that are only on PS4 physically , all on the disc or just ones that were the better version over the Xbox,WiiU etc , Games like Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, God of war 3 Remastered/ Gravity Rush 1&2/ Loco Roco/ Assault Suit Lynos/Alienation/ Last Guardian etc , I could go on as there are many
Collection aside , just recently bought a second hand PS4 Slim for my little brother with a 1 year PS Plus Premium subscription. he's happy with it. has all the games he would need. personally i may get a PS4 for myself just to collect discs down the line , and for current gen i simply chose XBOX Series S (will upgrade to X and a Gaming PC eventually)
I actually have that Deadpool game on PS4. I think this is the first time I’ve ever had a game that seems to be worth some money. Makes me want to hold onto it even tighter now 😂
The black steed has served us well for along time and as you guys said physical media is ending and I love a collection, I love to own something I can touch and see, to be honest digital games mean alot less to me because there just code floating around in the feather. But to end physical media is ridiculous but I heard it hear first so I thank you for the heads up, lads stay safe and well, all the best from Dublin Ireland.
@GamingOffTheGrid Right on brotha, To be totally honest I'm not really big on 4k resolution, if 1080p looks good I'll be fine with that plus the slim console is more cheaper then the pro model. Just looking to get the best bang for my buck on PS4 collecting
I'm still using my kingdom heart's 3 ps4 pro :) i got very lucky getting one of those in 2019 I'd like a ps5 at some point but there isnt many exclusives I'm interested in
I would make a list of games needing drastic updates to function. Many games were released broken and fixed with day 1 patches. Those will be rough when the service is cut and hurting the collector this generation. Robert does cover this
Is a good cheap hobby when you think about it innit. I just got myself a wee Honda Scooter, went over to CEX (uk gamestop but better it seems) and got Hitman Absolution for £1.50 for my xbox 360. I have a ps2 and a 360 just, neither on the internet. Not too sure what to get next.
I bought a PS4 and a psvr from a pawn shop, paid 240.00 just recently bought far point for psvr for 2.00 dollars, I also have a PS3 with games and a soft modded original Xbox with 7000 games.....
Keep an eye out for PSVR games and i would say if you haven't already try and buy a PSVR asap. I have a feeling it will go up over time and would be better to have a nice cleaner headset, buying one in good full condition later might be tricky and good complete sets will be expensive.
It also doesn't help that most games on PS5 right now are also available on PS4 as well. I've never seen a generation with so little exclusive titles and for how long developers have also been supporting PS4 and Xbox One. Couple that with the consoles and games being dirt cheap, and you have a recipe for an affordable option for games. I got a PS4 almost a year ago, and while it's not as good as my Switch, it's certainly cheaper. I'm also getting quality games for less than $20 each.
I still see no need to get the current gen consoles with my PS4 Pro and Xbox One X playing in 4K and games Still being released for them. Cheers boys 🍻
Do you have any VR recommendations? Light Gun types of games possibly. Just got one for $49. Couldn’t pass it up but honestly I don’t know shit about it
You can but it’s not much of an improvement to be honest. There may have been updates but we weren’t happy with the performance when we tried it. Very disappointing
Those fat PS3s in working order have always been expensive. I'm lucky to have one, but we need backwards compatibility for PS3 games on the PS5. That'll help the sales.
I'm still mad that sony failed the ps vita, one of the best handhelds ever made, and that's coming from a guy that loves nintendo products. I still have mine. It's modded and I replaced the battery. Works just fine still. Maybe one day we'll get a vita 2. Probably not though. :/

Nothing wrong with that at all. It's a great time to be a generation behind.
I am almost a generation behind because I get all the games cheaply. I still don't have a PS5 or the latest Xbox. The games are still new to me!
The PS4 is easily one of the best consoles I've ever owned. I still love it.
Tons of great games and right now is a great time to get the games on the low. Cheers to the good ol' PS4!
😂!!! I personally love it when stuff like that happens. You may be better off without the patches lol
I've hammered my PS4 collection this year and only really need 4/5 more games to where I consider it complete
All retail stores tend to put items on clearance every quarter and don’t discount local garage sales, I have found brand new sealed games for just a few bucks.
i got mine in pawn, when i get it out ima jailbreak my ps4 for games & mods🏴☠
Have you guys ever tryed beer coctail? I tryed it on vacation a few weeks ago. Good stuff.
Considering I still haven’t bought a PS5 and still haven’t been convinced it is worth forking over $500 for one I would also say yes, the PS4 is alive and well ☺️ Resident Evil 4 remake (RE4 is my second favorite in the series) played just fine.
I gladly swapped mine for a PS5. Had two different models that always sounded like jet engines about to take off.
Makes sense. The PS5 is the ultimate PS4 and more
Did dust it
I’ve been looking for deadpool on PS4 for years!!! How did you guys find it for a dollar???
I still have the PS4, although I mostly use the PS5 for the games now, but that being said I still actively look for games for the PS4 that I don't have. You make so many great points in this video, and for anyone who would want to just get the PS4 (even the early models) it is a high recommend, such a great console with an awesome selection of games for it.
Rumors are going around about a PS5 patent for backwards compatibility to play PS3 discs 👀
Fingers crossed 🤞! That would be great
The PS4 is now my 2nd favorite PS console. I absolutely love collecting for it. It has everything. Now is definitely the time to grab stuff. The only thing that is scary is the companies that are doing reprints. If you buy something ESRB that is expensive you could take a hit.
Definitely. I do think though some of the limited print stuff could really pop off in the future
@GamingOffTheGrid Oh, for sure. There are already some crazy expensive ones out there. Friggen Poop Slinger 🤣
Disclaimer: The PS4 and Pro do not play 4K UHD movies. Only streaming.
Good call. I never had a pro. Thought it did but guess not. I know my XBOX One does.
Wrong. PS4 Pro allows 4K bluray discs
@@SSJ4Vegiito The PlayStation 4 can play HD and 3D Blu-rays, but not 4K UHD. Both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro play HD and 3D Blu-ray discs. These discs go up to 1080p, which is the standard for most devices. However, although the PS4 Pro can play games and stream media in 4K, neither PS4 model supports 4K UHD Blu-rays
I am going for the games that peak my interest ,the games that are only on PS4 physically , all on the disc or just ones that were the better version over the Xbox,WiiU etc , Games like Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, God of war 3 Remastered/ Gravity Rush 1&2/ Loco Roco/ Assault Suit Lynos/Alienation/ Last Guardian etc , I could go on as there are many
Fist of the North is a great time. Recently got into that one.
Makes me want to hold onto it even tighter now 😂
I wasn't aware of its value until recently. Pretty wild. Great game as well.
my favorite ps4 game Days Gone actually runs and looks incredible on the ps5, but it does not run good on the ps4 pro.
Thanks for this comment! Makes me want to give it another try
I was a paid monthly Patreon for exactly 1 year. Will I be recieving the beer mugs soon?
We send them out at the end of the year to all who qualify. Most likely shipping January
@@GamingOffTheGrid 10-4
My local pawn shop uses Amazon and ebay prices to sell their games
Which PS4 do you recommend to start a collection... PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro?
We both have the slim. Have heard great things about the pro but for us the slim is fine
@GamingOffTheGrid Right on brotha, To be totally honest I'm not really big on 4k resolution, if 1080p looks good I'll be fine with that plus the slim console is more cheaper then the pro model. Just looking to get the best bang for my buck on PS4 collecting
What’s the best PlayStation console to get as of right now now
I just started collecting PS4. It's got a huge library.
Now is the time for sure! Enjoy
I'm still using my kingdom heart's 3 ps4 pro :) i got very lucky getting one of those in 2019 I'd like a ps5 at some point but there isnt many exclusives I'm interested in
Gaming off the Grid Sony PS4 time blessed to see all from 1980-Now PS1 PS2 PS3 PS4 PS5 PSP PSV and PSP 2 (PlayStation Portal) what a life of gaming
I would make a list of games needing drastic updates to function. Many games were released broken and fixed with day 1 patches. Those will be rough when the service is cut and hurting the collector this generation. Robert does cover this
I feel like we don't get enough of you guys. Keep up the good work!
Been seeing PS4 for like 40$ I've been going crazy with them. I have a lot stocked up and some even modded. I know they will shoot back up..
Hell ya! Now is the time for sure. People are off loading the stuff in bunches
I was just playing mine yesterday. I had some golf going on and the Smurf game going on. Lol
Hell ya!!! Wasn't expecting Smurfs but definitely made me smile. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid Yeah it was very smurfing to play.
Nice boys, great video as always. It made my Tuesday morning better. And now I crave a peanut butter and jelly sandwich 😅
Glad you enjoyed! No go make yourself that damn PB&J LOL
I still haven't seen a good reason to upgrade to PS5 yet. I'll probably end up buying one at the end of the generation if I can find one for cheap.
All of my second hand stores are super expensive they run eBay prices
I’ve been sniping cheap PS4 for a while now. This is definitely good advice.
Keep on sniping! Now is definitely the time. Cheers 🍻
“The Order 1886”
shocked me with graphics even though it was a 2015 game and the gameplay really isn’t that bad
I have never played this one but have heard tons of good things. I'll be on the lookout for a copy. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid awesome, it’s definitely worth a play
The deadpools and amazing Spider-Mans are cheaper on the ps3
You are correct. Must be that the PS4 versions are perceived as superior. I've only played Deadpool on 360 and thought it played great. Cheers!
I tried getting deadpool back in 2020. It was already at like 80 dollars.
Worth it
Gamestop has a deal on used games right now. So even better time to get PS4 games for cheap!
Just got ps4 pro . Picked up gt7 at Walmart for $20 . Racing online like a champ
I bought a PS4 and a psvr from a pawn shop, paid 240.00 just recently bought far point for psvr for 2.00 dollars, I also have a PS3 with games and a soft modded original Xbox with 7000 games.....
I still need to get a VR. I've heard there are some really cool "light gun" style games on it
@@GamingOffTheGrid until dawn rush of blood ( awesome) , far point ( awesome) , doom vfr ( awesome)
another good video and you what PlayStation and GOTG have in common? they are both awesome
How can a console that’s powerful be dead stop getting games think of that
Keep an eye out for PSVR games and i would say if you haven't already try and buy a PSVR asap. I have a feeling it will go up over time and would be better to have a nice cleaner headset, buying one in good full condition later might be tricky and good complete sets will be expensive.
Thanks for the push. I’ve been thinking about it quite a bit lately
Totally get it. Cheers!
Well this is helpful since I’m not giving up my PS4
I upgraded to my Ps5, still have my PS4 which I use with og vr
Do you have any VR recommendations? Light Gun types of games possibly. Just got one for $49. Couldn’t pass it up but honestly I don’t know shit about it
Yeah I'd say sports games, and CoDs, don't bother for value, but theres a lot of games that could go up otherwise.
Can you play house of the dead remake on ps4 with a move/gun setup?
You can but it’s not much of an improvement to be honest. There may have been updates but we weren’t happy with the performance when we tried it. Very disappointing
@@GamingOffTheGrid thanks for letting me know! I bought a wii u and all the gun games based on your light gun series
Those fat PS3s in working order have always been expensive. I'm lucky to have one, but we need backwards compatibility for PS3 games on the PS5. That'll help the sales.
Really hope the PS3 compatibility on PS5 comes to fruition
They made 10.500 Ps4 games that would take a life time to go through let alone ps3 games on the ps5 .
Bought my lad a ps5 and he plays all his ps4 games on it without Internet, bought 15 ps5 games for less than £200 for his bday too...
Have you guys heard PS3 compatibility is coming to ps5? Great video!
You can find so many big games for wicked cheap for ps4
I'm still mad that sony failed the ps vita, one of the best handhelds ever made, and that's coming from a guy that loves nintendo products. I still have mine. It's modded and I replaced the battery. Works just fine still. Maybe one day we'll get a vita 2. Probably not though. :/
Definitely unfulfilled potential with the Vita. They could have done so much more with it.
