    Man that interior! The pilots and engine, superb work Greg! I know I'm late to the party but excellent work is excellent work and thus deserving 👏

    Figures look great...I sometimes paint overalls and uniforms slightly different colours just to seperate the crew...I believe that kit wasn't always the same, different manufacturers, bleaching and weathering may also contribute to the uniforms not being identical...and it adds interest...My Tamiya Chieftan crew all had the same face...lol

    Looking good, thus far. Very good !!!

    For someone that doesn’t like painting figures you made a superb job of that crew!

    Love your idea with the transparent plasticard over the instrument decals.

    Great build. A thought on the motor wiring. Run a piece of tubing from the firewall to the exit point then install a pull string with plenty of length at either end. You can tie off the motor leads then pull them through the tube and out. Much easier to pull a wire than to push it, especially in a crowded space.

    This has been an enjoyable series. I too had this kit, y aunt brought it to me fro Falkirk all the way to Texas when I was 10 years old. It turned out being too much for me at the tie, but I gave it a good try, and had it almost finished. I still remember all the parts as you assemble them. Thanks for taking us along on your build.

    Enjoy watching your aircraft builds especially these vintage Airfix kits which as a kid in the 1970s I would have loved to have built but as I only got 30p a week pocket money and 50p paperound could never afford so stuck with 1/72 scale aifix planes and tanks and have stayed with armour on an off ever since

    Looking really good. Can't wait for part three. Next time you have that trouble with fishing the wire, just lay a piece of string or fishing line in there before you put the fuselage together. The string is easy to move around for gluing and then you can attach the wire to one end and push from one end and pull from the other and that wire should cruise right through.

    What an artist you are! I learned some much from your fantastisch video's. Last week I tried to build the super-hobby Mirage IIIc 1:72 (I bought It for the second time) but I couldn't get the cockpit and fuselage with the wings properly get together what a pitty I had to throw the model away for the second time. I like the Mirage III so much. Do you now a Mirage III (1:72 or 1:48) wich is a good to build and fine detail? I hope you'll make a lot of these great video's.

    You might consider making a "wet palette" for your figure painting. It'll keep the paint usable for a lot longer.

    Good looking model. I've been wanting the Hellcat, and now that I finally have the finance, Covid has stopped all imports to South Africa. Online purchase is an option. but the shipping fee translates to well over a thousand SA rand, on top of the R2300 price tag, it's a bit much. I think our local craft shop has a Stuka, might just pop down there today...

  • @raytheron
    @raytheron 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Coming along very nicely, indeed, Greg. BTW, ever since I started using Extra Thin (melt action) cement, both Tamiya and Gunze, I've never had any issues with gluing painted surfaces, as the glue simply eats through the paint. When I was a youngster and we used Humbrol glue from the tube, you simply HAD to scrape the paint off surfaces to be glued.

  • @normg2242

    Interesting thing about the instrument panel - for some reason the Stuka did not have an attitude indicator like every other plane.

    Hello, this is really an admirable job. I'm doing the same right now also I wanted to ask you what glue you use for fixing the different components of the Airscale Instruments Panel Decals kit (counter of your video 8.38) Thank you

    • @GregsModels
      @GregsModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I can remember, I used a small amount of Tamiya varnish to glue the film and PVA glue to hold and position the kits panel part. Next, just a tiny amount of superglue is added around the assembly edge to finish off.

    Hi Greg, I love your work. If I may, surely when cleaning up the seams and sanding, you lost some rivets. How do you replace them/fix them? I noticed you did not sand the rivets off like you did on the Emil.

    • @GregsModels
      @GregsModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I will lose some rivets on the way. If I can I will protect the area with masking tape to limit the damage from sanding. Airfix got the surface detail mostly right. The 1/24 Airfix Stuka is a mixture of raised and recessed detail, thankfully like the real Stuka.

    If you want to extend the working time of acrylic paint it might be worth investigating wet palettes. They are commonly used by miniature figure painters.
