You are so right, I bought some Craftsman spline sockets, those are made in China, those are kept in the garage, they do not deserve to be placed in my in house made in USA Craftsman tool sets. I feel that cheap China stuff will give my USA cancer!!! God I miss my old Craftsman days. I literally went to Sears every weekend.
I stopped buying Craftsman tools when they stopped honoring their warranty. That coincided with when they outsourced the making of their tools to China.
They’re supposed to honor it still on the vintage tools (not that I would be keen to take advantage and lose my vintage stuff). It seems like the ease of warranty fulfillment depends upon how your Lowe’s is run, and differs from one store to another. There is a phone number you can supposedly call to take care of it if things don’t work out at the store.

The craftsman v series and overdrive are so much nicer than those old craftsman rarchets... the old usa sockets and wrenches tho are very nice
