I actually saw this man in my hometown of Danville Virginia at One of the schools he was performing at one evening and got his autograph and gave it to my favorite aunt, Arabelle!
They sure are enjoying their performance, the voices of Jack and Johnnie sure do blend together well, it's so sad to think about Jack's un-timely death in '63, every time I'm driving I am reminded of how careful we should be.
I feel like these guys don’t get mentioned enough as part of the history of country music, but for me, they were up there with the greatest. Top notch musicians and songwriters. They also were some of the first country artists to infuse international beats and style into their music. But my favorite part was Jacks pure high hillbilly voice. He’s my favorite country tenor! Great stuff
I love this song! I just heard it for the first time about a week ago and fell in love. (I'm 67 and have been in a lot of country bands, but have never come across this one. I'm going to probably do a video of it for my channel!!
Awsome upload! I absolutely love seeing footage of Johnnie and Jack on the country show. I know there is alot of videos of them on the country show, if you more please upload. Especially them singing SOS my hearts distressed. Thanks again for this wonderful upload!!
J & J we’re very very progressive in choice of songs and arrangements. They greatly expanded the fan base of country music with records like “Poison Love” and “Ashes Of Love”. Some records even have a Latin sound that still sounds up to date. Sorry to say Jack Anglin passed from a heart attack fairly young. Thankfully Johnny Wright and his wife Kitty Wells both had long careers and lived into their 90’s. I think Johnny was supportive of and friends with Hank Williams Sr. when Hank had personal problems and was fired from the Grand Old Opry. Johnny was also a pallbearer at Hank’s funeral.
@@chuckkrafft7168 Yes, he crashed his car, but the Coroner determined he had suffered a massive heart attack. The conclusion was he crashed because of the heart attack.

Jack Anglin died in a car accident on his way to Patsy Cline's funeral in 1963 according to Wikipedia.

Ok. Now that you mention it, I saw that in a couple articles.
Shot Jackson, the reason I own a resophonic guitar!

I think this show hosted by several country stars was sponsored by the UA Air Force to get recruits
This was not that show. Country Style USA was shot in black and white.
I thought it was the army not Air Force
