Beautifully explained. Could not have done it without you. One thing. After repeated failures, we called VFS and were told to use Firefox as our browser instead of Google Chrome. I cleaned out the history in Google including cookies and downloaded Firefox. Success! Thanks again!

Thank you for your informative video. My Oci was issued when I was 59 and I have been issued two new passports since that time.Would I need to update my passport details or not your feedback would be much appreciated.kind regards
Excellent Video! I am UK citizen and got a new passport last month so I updated as per your video. But I did so 2 weeks ago and only saw your video today! Where it asks “Have you or any member of your family applied for OCI registration earlier” I thought it relates to a recent application, so I said NO. your video suggests that I need to say YES and put details of when I for OCI card 7 years ago. So will my application to update details be rejected?
Did you have to resubmit or did they accept it - I have made the same mistake and am wondering what to do about it ....
Did you end up still getting the OCI passport updated?
She said near the start of the video you only need to update the passport details upto age 20 and then after 50 when you get new passport.
So if you got your OCI after the age of 20, there is no requirement to upload your new passport details untill your over 50 and even then when you get a new passport.
That's how im hearing it. Is this correct.
Also in part B i did the same for my kids and clicked no on all the questions. Very repetitive!

Hi Suja. Great video. I had a question regarding the application for miscellaneous OCI. I inputted some incorrect information in the acquisition section where I put " other" rather that "naturalisation" - do you happen to know if this will be an issue during submission. Or would you suggest a reapplication? The documents have been uploaded successful and I have received the acknowledgement email to say it is being assessed. Its worth mentioning that I didn't get a prompt to print after submission, nor a prompt to set up an appointment and payment. Sorry, I appreciate this is quite a long question, but any advice and guidance would be great.
If you didn’t receive any notification from the gov sided then your application should be good . No need to worry about it ..

I check the renewal status report showing for last few days showing application has been acknowledgement by competent authorities. it is under consideration. Is this normal message or a problem.

I don't want to face the situation If I am on airport and authority told me your OCI and new Passport are linked.
I have checked the status but even that does not provide that information that new passport updated.
I am not able to save or take the print out of file which I have submitted.

I hope it will take 7 days to update passport no in OCI. and I can see the updated passport no online.

I don't want to face any situation at airport that OCI is not linked with new passport.
So that I want confirm mail or updated document so that I can show it to authority.
I have received the mail with below statement:
"Thank you for completing Part-B of OCI- Application on 14/Nov/2021.
Your File-number is ITAM00000U21 for all future reference."
I am not able to take print of this file no.
My query is how I can confirm that my new passport is linked with OCI before purchase the ticket.
Please solve my this doubt so that I can stress out for 4 to 5 weeks till it complete the procedure.

First of all I want to thank Suja Prakash for a very clear set of information. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I just completed the process of updating my passport details in relation to my OCI card. I found the following useful for anyone else who may be doing this 1)do not include any numbers with your image file name - I had some issues but when I changed the name to image and signature it worked 2)you will need your current OCI reference number- you can find that on the back page of your OCI card 3)if you are naturalized as a foreign citizen you will need that date on hand. Otherwise the process was smooth.

I have been researching some of the information for OCI card Vs etourist visa for the Minor. Excellent video, kudos for your hard work and the detailed explanation. With this new guideline in place I think going for OCI card would be the best route for the minor. Thank you again for the great video. Appreciated.

Thank you for such an informative video. It helped me tremendously. One thing I want to note is when doing this for a minor, I selected 'OTHERS' in occupation & 'Minor' in occupation details, I kept getting error on submit that employer address can't be empty and on the page it would show occupation as 'WRITER' and the Country at the top would be empty. After 3 tries, I chose 'STUDENT' as occupation and that went away. Since my kids are in school it made sense. I hope it helps others. I'm not sure what one would do if the minor is a baby. Thank you again for explaining the steps so well.
