2023 1290 Super Duke RR - or 1390 R Evo?
So has it got a powerband? We still don't know.
I just want to know how reliable they actually are. I’ve been toying with the idea of a bigger naked, but I’ve put 30k miles on an MT09 with nothing but oil and tires. Being a daily commuter most of the year I’m not looking for constant headaches.
I think you know the answer. Toying is exactly where you should leave it if you commute. The MT is obviously a much better option and as much Road fun too.
I will never have a KTM again bought mine new 22 had nothing but trouble hunk of junk
What issues have you had?
@@whatsthedealwith1603 now 3 recalls a problem with the sniffer stil not rectified had to sort myself they clueless a problem with the keyless I told them went back and forth over 5 months before they admitted it and now the brake switch has failed I’ve done less than 3 k miles on it I’m beginning to hate it
@@Dangerous1906what's a sniffer? Sorry, I am not British. A brake switch?
@@Peskarik it sniffs the quality of fuel
I had two gen 1 and gen 2 never had any problems
Soon Ill be able to afford the gen2🎉
KTM's first foray into VVT, what could possibly go wrong...
Hopefully they copied bmw
Maybe they should copy Suzuki
I am sure it will be sorted out by the 4th year of production.
Frame still is paper made?
Would it be suicidal for this to be your first bike
Can’t believe no one is commenting on the 2024 pricing for the SDR. It’s gone up 10%+
Which jorno/ vlogger crashed at the launch?
Awesome looking bike , I want one 😍😍😍
Waiting for the sdr 990 review
Electronic- or conventional (updatede WP) suspension?
why so many wheeler control level if you want wheelie you have to turn it off
I have a 2018 Super Duke R. Would it be worth trading up for the new one?
I think he answer your question when he said it’s worth upgrading from the last gen. So unless your bike is better than it then yes. 👍
I love everything I've heard about this bike but let's be honest, your license and/or legs will last five minutes on UK roads and KTM reliability means it'll spend half it's life in the dealership.
👍THE BEAST👍
Thanks for your continued hard work doing the dirty jobs so the rest of us can stay home watching the rain out the window.😂
Five inch gang🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
I have GSX-R1000R that I ride on the streets (twisties and hills, Alps), would you part-ex it for the outgoing 1290 SDR?
How does it compare to the new Streetfighter v4s
the V4 S doesn't have cruise control, a fuel gauge and this amount of real life usable fun. IIRC the V4 S drains more gas aswell.
@@tsarnevits don’t really need cruise control and fuel gauge as it has a trip meter and to be fair between the Tuono and gen 3 they all eat gas was asking about riding more than gadgets 👍✌️
Yeah I sort of got it, but at this price range, a bike should have it all. My two cents :)@@tomsmith6196
Million dollar question - Ducati street fighter vs this new KTM beast. I know you test rode the street fighter last year... What are your thoughts?
Def the v4 but its about 5k more.
It's got everything but does it have electrical reliability because my Gen 3 broke my heart with stupid faults 🤷♂️
There's a 2023 Super Duke GT local to me on massive discount but I'm afraid. I read some people saying they did a bunch of miles no problem and some people saying they're huge piles of shit. I can't really tell if it's worth the gamble.
@chorseundgrd I just bought a 2020 SDR and I will never not have a Superduke in my garage, the amount of fun I have on it completely makes any potential issues the bike would have worth it for me.
I got a discounted 2017 with about 10k miles on it back in 2019. No real issues to speak of. Just a leaky fork seal but to be fair was leaking when I got it. Should have cleaned it with a seal mate then, now it needs a seal. Can go thru batteries but that's about the only issue (just use a trickle charger and don't use a lithium.. Superfun bike to ride, never has broken down.@@chorseundgrd
@@chorseundgrd honestly the last two ktm long term test reviews from mcn put me off, both had multiple faults and when ur spending 15k or more its just unacceptable tbh, I dno why they just cant build a reliable bike, triumph and ducati are pretty reliable these days but ktm cant seem to get it right
@@BodybuildingSteve Yea I think I'm going to pass on the deal. Seems like it's a perfect bike when you get flown out and get to ride on a perfect day on a private track and put 0 money down for the experience. In the real world, it's a bike that will give you more headaches than happiness. Shame, because on paper it's a perfect bike for me.
When he was talking about the niggles of the gen1 example shabby gearbox I hope he mentioned this when he reviewed it and not just mentioning it to promote the new gen.
Katie Price bucket headlight
And I thought my 2007 990 Superduke was fun back in the day
Big up papa Fagan
I want to sell my 390 and just go straight to a 1390.
I have never rode a naked bike. I come from owning superbikes. I have always wanted to buy a naked bike but I am worried about the wind on highways.
Would I be able to ride in comfort on the highways without having the wind kill me. I understand it isn’t a touring bike and superbikes don’t offer a great amount of protection from the elements but naked bikes seem to be extreme.
Please anyone with experience let me know. Appreciated.
This thing looks so wicked
It's a naked bike, your going to get beaten up. And the faster you go the worse it will get. Having said that, I've just about convinced myself I need this in my life.
A great Q&A 😂
Want me a 1390 Supergaper!😂
It's a Crossbetween predators face and a massive gaper
All I have to do is win the lottery and it's mine. 👍
why wouldn't you make it your track bike, !!! what's lacking, missing in your opinion
Trampling all over my feelings with those 1050RS comments 😢
The headlight is just... no..
I want ✊🏻💥
I have a gen2 with full suspension and carbon wheels and other goodies for track riding. So you’re saying throw it in the sea and get the new one !?!?
Seems if you get a bad KTM you get a really bad one. Although i will say i think its not helped by some dealers being useless which in turn leads to the brand getting a bad rep.😢
Weapon.the bike not Chris
New word: RoboVag
This is the f*+*ing Bat Mobile.
I find your comment about the Tuono odd. It's a superbike without the ergo compromises, which is quite different to a superbike 🤷🏻♂️
1590 😂
multiply by 20 and you get the price ;-)
Ugliest bike award 2024 and 2025 lol
Not even 1390, lol.
Does its headlight fail after 6k km and the dealership pretends for weeks a replacement headlight isnt available due to the factory not sending one, so you have to send a nasty email to Austrian HQ informing them of consumer affairs action if not rectified, so suddenly within days the headlight is found and the bike is fixed? Yeah FUCK KTM. BMW GS1250 Rallye now, where my money should have gone. Did i say, FUCK KTM?
Big ole gapers FFS……
I don’t mind the design but these KTM naked bikes are a victim of their own success, with every shitty Chinese bike copying the design
Agreed
Don't forget KTM own half of CFMOTO.
Well they make most of it. In china
