yea the fan are to push or blow the hot air open side thru the open windows! Also i love my sever cases so easy to point the EXHAUST FAns towards the Exhaust fans! So all the heat goes OUT SIDE>
I think a rat, squirrel or raccoon is going to find a nice spot in your garage to call home... or moths will be attracted to those lights. You're going to need to close off that window with a screen or something.
Now that you have more of a airflow cage, you will want all the case fans blowing in the same direction as your outdoor venting fan. Otherwise they will work against each other. I like building my stuff in a similar fashion as you. Simple. Cheap. Effective!
Great work! I'd recommend cutting pieces of foam or plywood to put around the rigs to isolate your intake completely from your exhaust. Even with the 8k cfm fan you are still getting hot air back into the garage. The intake fans will provide more than enough intake air and it basically creates a poor mans Octominer. Also seal the seams with duct tape or something to force all intake air through the intake fans. Once I did the cold/hot isle my intake temps are at ambient, usually a little lower because the shed is in the shade, and exhaust temps are usually only 20-25 degrees higher.
I replaced all my powerful fans, case fans and exhaust fans, and I found that the air pressure, if too high, in turn affects the cooling of the GPU, with the violent fans on the case having the most impact
08:02 to prevent this, Adding a supply fan with the same cfm as the exhaust would prevent air leaking from other parts of the home. You could duct supply fan to your gpu plenum box, or you could install a very large slow rpm fan(they tend to be quieter)
I would definitely have that fan at least closer to the window opening. Also I would turn the rigs around, you are blowing hot air back at the GPUs. It takes time to get everything perfect I know been working on airflow and everything for 3 years now but first hand experience is the best way to learn 👍
Looks pretty good I like the setup and usage of your garage for mining. Are you still going to build a shed to house your GPU farm? That was last I heard from you that you were going to build a shed or have one built. Fingers crossed that alt coin season comes sooner than later and miners start making some real money!!! Cheers!!!!
I decided to try this instead of the shed as a last resort. $200 heat fix vs $2000 so it worked out great honestly. Still may need to do the shed if I get any bigger
That's great, lol, It's different around me, I'm surrounded by high rises and I have to control the noise, especially the high frequency noise of the 12038 fan, had to use a maglev fan from sunon
Nice Setup! - I love my govee sensors. Have you thought about setting up a raspberry pi with home assistant? It autodetects govee sensors. Kasa smart plugs with energy metering are a nice way to collect data on power usage too (and that integrates with home assistant too). You can chart some nice data graphs and do analysis that way.
@@ModernMiningHub - I'll put something together if I can't find anything out there that covers the important highlights. I started with a home assistant setup to monitor an RV (power usage, propane levels, temperatures) and pivoted to make a system monitoring my miners.
I'm not a fluid dynamics guy but I think you want to seal your fan to the opening so all the air goes out the opening. But I bet it's making a big difference. Good work
I thought so too but then i watched this video. th-cam.com/video/1L2ef1CP-yw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=M1ODTO0k-Tf3MQrr I think im going to move it flush regardless for security purposes though
For your little awning, I suggest adding a stripe of PL premium (the Grey stuff) and smooth it out with your finger. Will add a lot of strength if you're concerned about it...
Well done man, where are you pulling the intake from? A different window I assume. I spoke too soon. Suggest adding some filter material to those intakes. Pollen is nasty stuff
@@ModernMiningHub the yellow stains are showing around my intake window, so I better do what I'm suggesting instead of farting around in you tube comments haha
You’re talking about the cards themselves right? Those are the only fans pushing the opposite direction but they just get sucked right back in. Probably not good for the motors though may need to turn them around like you said.
@@ModernMiningHub ya ...that will help alot i have 140 gpus and 10 asics...deff know from experience it would help move air out the exhaust easier creating a natural flow out even tho they are really low cfm there are a bunch of them

YEa u could flip the fans to blow OUT side (towards your EXAUST windows fan!) and then put a intake FILTER! so ur GPU will stay CLEAN!

I did switch them around so they are all blowing into the hot isle/room. Thanks for stopping by!

Having the fan not right next to the window is better trust me it's science.
@@WannaBeQuant_SUB yes but ducting it to the window would help if it is sealed like a shutter fan
Brilliant work!
Are those fans pushing air towards the exhaust side of the GPUs? I would 180° the cards to exhaust towards the window
