I have just changed the battery on my Mk4 2012 2.0 Petrol Ecoboost and I did not need to remove anything other than the front of the battery cover. Yes you may need to use a couple of extra muscles to lift and tilt but you don't have to start removing headlights or air boxes

Thanks for that comment - just borrowed a friend's Mondingo and the damn thing has a flat battery! I seriously thought that this vid must be some kind of pick'n'mix selection of how to do different jobs using a Haynes manual until it went back to the battery again. What lunatic designs a car so you have to remove the frigging headlight to get the battery out??? Off now to do some serious lift'n'tilt exercises.
(I note that the hand-book makes no mention whatsoever about removing and re-charging the battery. Or how you can steer the damn thing if the battery goes flat - because the steering-lock won't release! I like Mondeos - had several brand-new as company cars - but I am never going to buy one of this generation...)

Is it not possible to dismount the battery direct?

Hello. The ones that have surprised me quite a bit is how difficult it is to figure out what happens when you disconnect the red BMS. wire from the + pole on the battery and how much the battery is then charged with.
That's why I did my own test after being annoyed for many months by the fact that my car charges the battery so incredibly poorly. The car's BMS. prioritizing emissions rather than charging the battery properly.
My test shows that when I have disconnected the red BMS. wire on the plus pole, the car charges at a constant 14.4v when the car stans still with low revs and around 14.6v - 14.7v when you step on the accelerator and get some revs. I have not yet tested while driving with BMS. Diconnected.
Volt measurements can quickly vary up and down since different measuring instruments measure slightly differently so if I measure 14.4v, you can measure 14.3v 14.5v.
Remember that a mondeo mk4 should only have calcium batteries because of its advantages, but most importantly because calcium can be charged with Max 16v, which no other battery type can. Mondeo mk4 with BMS connected, the car can sometimes charge with over 15v, which is unhealthy for normal acid batteries.
The Ford dealer in the countries where I live wrote the following to me.
BMC cannot be switched off or changed as this has to do with the car's type approval regarding emissions.
PS. My car does not give error code alerts in the converse+ screen when BMS. Is offline. have not yet connected Forscan.
    Anyone have experience with this??

Just followed the video and found the biggest problem was the screw holding the grill. Other than that only took half hour with my 5 year old grandson helping. Teach them young. 😂

I hate the Mk4 Mondeo for this reason. JUST TO TAKE THE BATTERY OUT

Why the hell would you design an engine like this , just to remove the battery, pathetic
