- G'day Legends, guess what!?! Snapper season is OPEN again!!! I couldn't help myself, I had to get out and see if I could catch them on trolled minnows to prove that first video wasn't a fluke! As your about to see, it definitely wasn't! I had an absolutely insane afternoon session! Hope you enjoy the video, trips like this don't come around often!

Great session Sammy, trolling is very productive at times and as you say great fun and great strikes. Maybe a cardboard cut out of Shauno in the boat, na second thoughts fish wont come near you if you had that. Keep up the great work Sammy , great footage of the strikes also

just watched your trolling for snapper , which is brilliant , can you tell how deep was the water and how deep do the lures swim , we have reef where we are but worried about snagging , any tips ?

I went out with 7 of my fishing club members ...Nerang RSL fishing club .On Sunday the 16 th August And we all got Snapper and some other fish .Me I just got my 4 snapper by 9.30 am. And yes they were the BIGGEST catch for me size wise....3 bloody good size and 1 pan size .. I had a great day I can tell you .Nice people and Great fishing .could not have asked for more.. I just need to know how to cook all that fish as I froze all but 2 meals worth .. HELP WITH COOKING NEEDED .lol

@@SammyHitzkeFishing no worries mate, i'll dig some of it up. I have watched a very large amount of videos and can't recall hearing a "why" behind the knot selection. I have heard many fisherman state what knot they use. But as I am tying on a lure I always ask myself "should this be a loop so the lure can wiggle, or should I have a clinch or uni here to keep it tight" I'm not sure how much diff it makes, but I always ponder this as I'm fishing. Thanks a bunch for good content, always a pleasure!

Sammy I enjoy your adventures very much. As a fellow fisherman I would like to see you use single hooks for catch and release though. We all need to protect our precious resources as much as possible.
Michael P McCarthy hey mate, Cheers. For this video I was planning on keep fish for the table so didn’t have singles ready to go. But you’ll notice where possible I released the fish I didn’t keep without removing them from the water to keep them in the best condition possible 🍻🍻
Nice to see you reviewing the gear you were using at the end, I was thinking a 6kg to 10 kg rod would be light, but your light rod is heavier than my heavy rod

john furness As do I mate, that’s why I was holding one of the rods while I was trolling 👌👌👌 you can feel all the bumps and hits that way. In Queensland we are only allowed 4 each. Different states can have different amounts 👍

Jesus mate your breathing when you're bringing in that first snap sounds like one of 3 things, it's either your first good snap of the season, or you've just run a set of 100 yard sprints or it's audio of you working out on the bedroom workbench

Our snapper season up north is almost nonexistent now with the new closure. They just started poking their colour around-closed season-now we’re seeing the scattered tail end. They’re two different states sth Queensland and nth Queensland
