- G'day Legends, This week Shauno and I head out in search of mackerel by trolling some dead baits around my local reefs and it isn't long before we are on! Not just happy with a feed of mackerel we get stuck into some squid as well then have a mackerel cook up!

My guess is 9.5kg first mackie and 9kg second mackie, great eating size especially when you put a little bit of curry powder in a bag with some flour, dust the mackie fillet and pan fry in some butter/ olive oil , mmm beautiful.

The size of the Spanish Mackerel you fellas get is absolutely amazing. I'm used to seeing ones from 1-3 lbs.

Great Catch! The water was just looking awesome and choppy. In our part of region deep sea fishing and trolling is not possible due to very rough sea during monsoon season (June, July, August). Fishing season begins from September to March for anglers. Happy trolling both of you! Stay Safe!

Hey Sammy good episode m8, with the sqiid I seen on another channel which I start to do myself is push ur thumb inbetween the eye where the body meets the head and the squid dies and go white less ink in the bag or bucket.. good times thanks for the channel.

Hey Sammy, Great vid as usual. What is your setup for this trolling. Can you suggest a rod and reel that I could multi purpose with. eg Trolling and Bottom bashing/ Jigging. I have a couple already but have a spare 8500HS reel that would be good to set up with something. Plan to fish off Noosa and 1770.
The only squid I've caught up here was off a charter boat by the base of the tube on a hook.
Sammy, is there any chance showing us your trolling rig for the tailor. Got a few of those chin guards and wouldnt mind using the same setup.

Tee Jay We do a fair bit of marling fishing and run mono. Not sure why but I think most would use mono. Think it would have somthing to do with the stretch for sure

Sammy when you going on a 4x4 fishing adventure with Shauno?
I grew up in Oxford, so I speak English. Since then I'm an American citizen. I've lived in India, Australia, South Africa, never Ireland, but every other country that claimed to speak English. I was gonna call bullshit as my man Mark Holland and I were trolling some awesomlicious swim baits on and around the same time. We got back one snip snip mullet and a missing Bonny....1 hr later.....dirty ‘cuda....so devo’d. Sammy and Shaun prove once again quality fish are there...or you should take better quality deckie...but wouldn’t trade my mate Mark for all the Spano’s in the bay...coral trout probably...

Please keep a separate channel for Catch and cook. You are going to lose viewers if not. Just take a look at Landshark channel. He was going great with his videos and suddenly he started doing catch and cook and his channel started going down
