If you leave the front higher than the rear, you get the tilt and heather gets the height when she slides the seat forward😊

Hey Slade, I would totally stay with the stock door cards. In my opinion, if you go diamond tuck pattern you will depart from the true beetle so much, the car will end up looking more like a street hot rod. The seats are a tastful departure from stock. The diamond patter will be a complete departure.

Those Pro90’s are my favorite seats. I can’t even have stock seats anymore as I’ve done a few cars with them now. And I’m 6’2” so I get it. As far as door panels go, I’d go with stock, or have some made to match the pattern on the seats. Good idea on using the body mount hardware to mount the seats. It makes it look more factory.

I like the diamond tuck but I would really like to see you get the car on the road and getting to enjoy it out at vw shows. Maybe better video during a winter project when your waiting on parts on the Baja
We are coming into fall weather here soon. Soon as the snow stops falling in the winter, the car will be on the street. Doing DIY videos slows down the process greatly. 🤦🏼♂️
But I don’t mind the extra wait.

I like sitting low too. Of course with my size it keeps the center of gravity down😅
I have to sit low, if I am up too high, and too far forward. I don’t feel very comfortable.

Ok Thanks. I've been thinking for a while how I can get my stock seats in my 77 super vert to go back further. I could remount the seat post toward the front for the tracks but was not liking my options with the pyramid center mount. Now I am thinking just to cut the tracks and pyramid out and use that bit of kit that you showed. 🤔 Decisions. I really like the height adjustability that you have. And yes, I would love to see the diamond pleating. Thanks for all of it Slade.

I watched both vids, I don't think you mentioned price. I know when I re did the seats in my Comet, it was pricey and very labour intensive.

The sliders actually came with the seats. But here is a link to the brackets I used to mount to the floor.

Not a big fan of the diamond tuck look, but it’s your car do what you want.
I think I am only going to go two directions at this point. Either stock, which will probably happen. Or find the same exact material as the seats and recover them. While keeping the stock pocket of course.
Leave the door cards stock. They go with the seats.
I feel your pain when you pay for something expensive, and then you have to make changes because the threads don't match. I believe that all of your bolts should have went in like butter, not you having to retread

Yes, you definitely need more legroom. You’re 2 inches taller than I am!!!
I don’t believe you could add them to the factory brackets.
I am sure there’s a way of welding and adapting something different. Depending on what year you have?
You could drill the spot welds out and move the factory track back further. I think 72 and back would be easier to deal with but 73 and up would not with the way I just described it

@@brandonslater2987 oh, you got this brother! You might have to make a small bracket up on the front part of it. To go across to attach to.
I hope that makes sense. But the side tracks should slide back once you drill the spot welds out.
