i’ve really enjoyed watching your personal skills develop over the course of this project. u started out as green as they come and now your a pretty handy restoration apprentice!!! great job.
I totally agree on the new wiring harness. It is one thing to restore the existing wiring and keep it original, but if you are going through the hassle of rewiring the entire bus, it is no longer original so just upgrade everything.
Hey Mitch - thanks for your honest content I think many folks restoring cars only show the finished product and fun side not all the frustration along the way, each upload is the highlight of my TH-cam viewing. Thanks also to Jerry for the wiring diagram - super useful, definitely gonna be referencing that when we do the harness on our bus. Keep well and regards to Lori & Kona.
Hey, wiring is my cup of tea. It does take a lot of planning and patience to achieve a well done installation. Im sure you are in the best hands and ive seen it all throughout your Kona journey.

Mitch and Lori, I'm glad you stuck to your guns to make sure the paint match was what you chose and not what Dom said "if you wanna keep dicking around with the color". Because in the end of the day, it's your bus, your decision, your hard earned $$ you both are putting into it and what you say goes, not a painter. You have to live with that color you spent on, not him, in a respectful way. Stay safe in Maui you two. Much love. 🤙

Hey there Mitch and Lori. Love the channel. I noticed that Kona emblem on that red car and thought you should buy a few of those Kona emblem’s for the inside and outside of your bus. Great work my friend. The end is near and I’m sure you are ready for the end by now. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I know these delays are defeating. But from what you've shown us, it looks more like a blessing in disguise. There has been a lot of small mods and details to get figured out before paint happens and this extra time has given you time to remedy things 😊
Dom is what is gives paint shops a bad name. You must use a spectrophotometer in this day and age. Everyone sees' color different, woman see it better than men. Stay safe in Maui!

Yet another awesome video , one side of are excited to see who kona turns out but the other side will be sad when she's done , but amazing how far she's come .
I can only imagine how nerve wracking watching the paint going on can be. Have a friend whose jeep was painted green. It took seven coats to get to the final shade. Very interesting to see the layering/shading process painters have to go through to get the final color for the eye test.
Hey Mitch, You showed Hyundai's version of your van, he he... But what if you took one of the OG Volkswagen logos in it's many styles to craft a KONA logo ? There are several font styles the letters come in from script to block lettering, and getting it made in a 3D printer shouldn't be too hard. There are new chrome paints that may work, vs having it plated over a paint on metal base that chrome can electro-deposit onto if you want to match an original VW logo. Hope you are all well !
