Working through the series. Much appreciated.
Tutorials like these are all about when and how often the person says, "You get the idea."
    You nailed it, good sir.

do you need to have samurai edition to edit the piano roll?

I've been going through this series and first of all want to commend you on a solid and comprehensive set of tutorials! This is really going to help a lot of folks get up and running with Koala. Really full of good information and even as an advanced user I've picked up on some things I didn't know or hadn't thought of before. I do however get a bit confused when you refer to the piano mode (sort of a performance or instrument mode really) as the "piano roll" when a piano roll is actually the note editing grid that you previously referred to as the sequencer. The piano roll is a pretty consistent term across recording software/DAWs I believe, and I think you've mixed up the term here.

Thanks, that’s a fair point. I plan on doing an update video once enough new features have been released so I’ll make a note to amend that term. What Koala really needs is a well written manual that gives titles to each function and explains them. There were definitely a few functions that I had to figure out without much online help and at the time I couldn’t think of a better name for it. 😂 Appreciate the feedback! 👍

@@nervouscooks Agreed on the need for a manual! We're all in the same boat trying to figure some of these things out and I truly think you're doing an amazing job putting it all together. Cheers!

I was inserting 16th notes in the piano roll and all of a sudden it changed to whole notes and I can’t change it back and I have no idea how to change the resolution of the notes
edit: drag the length to desired length.
Then the notes will remember the last note length

Just bought it, plus samurai or what it was called. Thought it was great but now I think that you can’t move around midi notes etc, to get it the way you like, I have to play it correctly when recording? Please say it ain’t true :/

Don’t panic! You can definitely move midi notes around, there is a snapping box at the bottom of the grid view. Just turn snapping off or to whatever measure you want to snap to. 16th notes etc.

@@nervouscooks Yeah I found out how to do it! :) ❤️🙏👌

Is it just me? I’m having an issue where I can only play one sample melodically. The keyboard will only assign itself to one sample at any given time. Which is pretty weird.

Dude just because you don’t understand something intellectually, doesn’t mean you aren’t musical, you obviously are.
