  • In today's Koala Sampler Tutorial, I share two different ways to create amazing sounding drum racks in Koala Sampler.
    1 - Importing Samples
    2 - Recording Nano Studio 2 or Korg Gadget 2's drums into Koala
    There is not yet a "default template" feature, but there is a workaround for it :)
    If you guys would like to download the drum racks created in this video, let me know in the comments below!
    Hope you guys enjoy the video.

    To guard against template loss, save each template twice: first with the actual name, then again with "BACKUP" added ("Drum Template BACKUP"). Then if you accidentally overwrite the template, you can load the backup and Save As to recover it.
    (This tip brought to you by not being able to set files as read-only in Dropbox at work.)

    You just have to make the template and immediately save as everytime you start a new project. Definitely would be nice to have a default template like AUM has.

    Thanks really helpful. Much appreciated. Loading from the iPad storage so much better than using AudioShare. Love the drag and drop actually. Game changer when you can be running a sequence, auditioning the sounds over it from the file finder and then just drag them in. So intuitive. Also not apparent to people from the video because it didn’t show your finger but using the iPad file finder instead when you set the sample page to ‘Import File’ and tap an empty sample pad it automatically opens up the finder on the left hand side as a split screen for you to search from. Great stuff.

    Also remember you can have a basic acoustic drum kit dry and build the sounds through AUM mixer with stacking EFX to color and give character to the drums. Like vinyl, cassette, bit crusher, reverbs, delays, etc etc.

    I like sampling from Neon. What I do is load a drum demo video into neon, run that through some enhancer AU (FAC and Klevgrand are personal favorites) and put Neon in split screen with Koala. Then, it's just a simple drag and drop from clipboard onto the Koala pad.

    • @Khordmaster
      @Khordmaster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This sounds like a great workflow! I’ll have to check out Neon… haven’t heard of it before!

    Wussp bro👊🏾👊🏾, thanks for your video tips……thanks to you I tried something to what you where saying……try this method. Let’s just say you just set up your drum kits like this video and then you made a recording sequencer like this video and then you love the drum pattern, but you didn’t like the kick or the snare……. You can swap them out …….just by going through your drum library. Drag and drop a new kick or snare on top of the old one to your liking, while the sequencer is playing. Easy way to audition them.

    Don’t know if someone mentioned this before but an easier way would be to load the app you want, start screen recording on the device you’re using and play the sounds you want from any app or kit you want. I hate remembering how to use AUM for a process like this every time. Then import the video you just recorded into the Koala Sampler app. Let Koala cut the video sample, which will now have been converted to audio upon importing, and distribute the samples to the pads. Try not to trigger more samples than the Koala Sampler has slots available. Name, save and you’ll have what you need as a kit available. Quick, fast and easy. It works for sounds, apps and any other sample sources too. Hope this helps.

    • @Khordmaster
      @Khordmaster  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This sounds like a perfect solution… i wish iPad had record audio instead of screen but not a big deal, just remember to delete your videos after. Imma try this out thanks dude. I agree about AUM and how it can be confusing and halt creativity
