East Carolina University Women's Choir Erin Plisco, conductor Gaudete! - arr. Michael Engelhardt Recorded live on November 24, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, NC
Hi. This is the second performance I've seen of this song. In both instances, I loved the singing but the percussion, and it was in both versions I listened to, just seemed out of place.
Totally horrendous. Trust Americans to take a simple, bare tune of exquisite beauty and destroy it into a monstrously complex extravaganza of over-production. And what was the point of banging pots and pans in the background?
@@chrismiller5198 Yes, I've heard many of them. An arrangement is not a production. Arrangements can be played in many ways. My dislike of this video above is the typical American Hollywood-isation, Super Bowl-ness, of over-complicating something essentially simple -- a medieval, 4 part harmony, Christmas Carol. "Creatives", such as this particular conductor, need to learn that more is not always better.
@@prairiedweller8917 its called a minority for a reason, stop nit picking shit. these people worked hard to learn this piece. if you dont like it shut the fuck up and piss off. no one asked for your opinions.
This is probably the most flawless, amazing, absolutely gorgeous performance I've ever seen.

The first part the girl that song first is my chours teacher
They got the percussion just right! Beautiful!
This performance is really nice! :)
This is epic. So incredibly cool.
This song feels so powerful at the end and at the beginning
That just knocks my socks off! Wonderful!
I do love this but I also like fishing, football and Steeleye Span.
Fantastic arrangement!
Wow! Amazing!
My school choir did this same thing
Whilst it is technically sound this interpretation of the great work doesn't work for me ; it is rather too complicated.
having sung it, it isn't too complex to me. maybe its the percussion
i sang this song about two years and it wasn’t too difficult
singing it now, its actually really fun!!!
I loved it, but the soloist at the beginning could have had taller vowels
Devon Hoyt The song is supposed to be sung freely and not with classical vowel sounds. More like a Gaelic chant.
kaylee maylee bright and super! Pingy !!
i sang this song before and it’s more of a chant
they are supposed to be super bright, I honestly think she ould have been even more intense with her brightness
Magnificent
❤️

MEN. ☕
Good one
Awful arrangement of a fantastic song. Sounds like a broken washing machine in the background.

Well said.
This arrangement is just shameless gimmickry.

"Creatives" too often think that more is better.
