As much as it would have been nice to see SG-1 seasons 1 through 7 get proper remasters it was never going to happen. When CBS did this investment with The Next Generation on blu ray it bombed financially. Not enough people bought the TNG blu rays so the remaster was made at a loss.
Well, that's disappointing. Thought about picking it up but I guess I now won't.

Some episodes were extended for the DVD releases (Threads being a prime example).
We're the extended cuts of various episodes used for the Blu-ray set, or are they all transmission cuts?
I forgot to mention that in the video. Yes. All the extended versions are here like the DVD's. Everything is 1:1 from the old sets. Minus the framerate conversion done with Fraiser's death episodes.
Read on a Reddit review that the BD seasons 2-10 don't have true 5.1, that they feed stereo to the left and right channels to "fake it" whereas season 1 does have true 5.1. Conversely, I read the opposite was true with the DVDs (stereo for S1, 5.1 for S2-10). Care to comment?
Thx for covering this. I had wondered for awhile what the difference was and if it was worth the price ($130) . Your vid cleared a little of that up. Though the price was never mentioned. Also have you thought of covering The Librarian and the series the librarians ?
The international broadcast that used these masters was DNR free.
Speaking of a bad blu ray box my Mon coll knights set box came broken. Also that would be a good review.
well think ill buy the dvd complete collection instead of bluray and save $80
The upscale is beautiful. Huge improvement over the DVDs. Everyone should buy these right now! The remaining interlacing is indeed very rare and there is the occasional frame rate issue, but it's few and far between. I wish they would do an upscale this good for DS9 and Voyager.
Bought the Sentinel boxset and the discs had errors so I had to repurchase the newer one they released the year after

@@rangerreview1780 well thanks for letting us know about it. I bought the DVD collection for when I deployed to Iraq back in 2009. Me and my buddies worked through all 10 seasons during our free time.
This might seem really random but your blu-rat cases are so laser straight, the lighting so diffuse, and the framing is so exact that it looks like a greenscreen background to my eyes.
I'm in front of a green screen.

There are worse examples of DNR Gone Wrong than Predator: Ultimate Hunter Edition. There was a 3D conversion of the film done at that time, which explains why Fox chose to use DNR during the remastering process.
I don't want to see worse DNR than that lol.
Yeah, the video files look great on my hard drive, don't take a lot of shelf space and are worth every penny!
Glad to see Stargate SG1, as well as the other Stargate shows, finally get a Blu-Ray release, even if it came out of nowhere. Of course, there's ALWAYS gotta be some setbacks like the godawful, fat-ass Blu-Ray cases (like seriously, there's no reason for them to be that obnoxiously wide), and other issues. If I ever do get these sets, I'll be sure to throw away those terrible big boxes in favor of smaller Blu-Ray cases (though, I might hold on to the bigger ones for different usages, or something).
